I was seriously thinking about shaving my eyebrows off the other day. The grey ones drive me insane and if I left them to their own devices I would look like Denis Healy.

I last had my eyebrows done for my wedding- 13 years ago. As a teen, I had a bit of a monobrow, but as I have got older, they have not really grown much.

I just wish my leg hair would get the memoGrin

Just walked the dog- very windy. But we saw the heronGrin. Tried to get a picture, but it was too window, and the dog was trying to catch a squirrel. Grin

Raahh · 10/05/2020 13:04

windy- not windowGrin.

kazzaD66 · 10/05/2020 13:08

Dennis Healy did have spectacular eyebrows Grin

DS let DH cut his hair last week because the front was so long, he needed a hair clip to keep it out of his eyes Grin DH shaves his own head, so he put the clippers on the longest / highest (?) setting, and went from there! It's not that short but shorter than it's been for a good few years and it's made DS look younger Grin

Weather is starting to change here, although still warm and sunny when we went for our walk earlier. A lot windier today and now getting a bit more overcast. DH is a bit fed up that we seem to keep missing the rain. He wants it for the garden. He's a bit of a Percy Thrower on the side Grin

Raahh · 10/05/2020 13:14

I want to get hair clips for the dogs eyebrowsGrin. In fairness, he is a schnauzer, he is meant to have eyebrows. But they are getting a bit out of hand now, and I don't trust my self to cut them.

Maybe a nice alice band?

Not a very clear picture, but here is the heron.

Yay heron picture!

My eyebrows are a bit Denis Healy-ish - some of them are really long and I also have some grey ones Jane - it’s not a good look!

Hope you get some rain for the garden kazza

I’m so bored that I’m doing housework Hmm

magimedi · 11/05/2020 08:42

Selfishly I am enormously happy to read of no quarantine beyween UK & France (should have been going on Wenesday Sad ) but I really wonder why & wtf is the difference between France &, say, Italy?

As DH said to me, it's the economy.

I woke up feeling a bit low this morning & that news has cheered me up a great deal.

Fizzywinegum · 11/05/2020 09:01

Sorry that you won’t be able to go to France on Wednesday magi but at least no quarantine when you are able to go.

I felt quite low last night - I wasn’t expecting a big announcement from Boris but it just all seems so muddled.

I think your DH is right - a lot of the decisions seem to be economically driven rather than for our safety.

Anyway I’m trying to be a bit more positive today - might go for a walk in a bit.

Raahh · 11/05/2020 09:08

My dog groomer has decided to re-open (she works from a converted garage in her garden, and has put a lot of rules in place)- she had 79 messages last night from clients. I mean, she's good- but it will be Christmas before I get Raahhdog seen at this rate!Grin I'm hoping she will prioritise those who were meant to be seen when she was forced to close.

Good news,Magi. At least, it's some hope to cling to. I think we all need that.

I did find the speech last night a bit woolly, and apart from taking the dog for a hair cut, I'm not planning to change much- will see how the plans for schools pan out (though the dds are in years 4 and 9- so I don't them going anywhere yet).

magimedi · 11/05/2020 09:22

Fizzy Off you go for your walk - it's the best thing to clear ones head when feeling low & I'm off shortly.

Raahh Good news re your groomer & hope she sees Raahh dog asap.

Fizzywinegum · 11/05/2020 09:29

That’s good news about the dog groomer Raahh - I dreamt about my hairdresser again last night Shock

Off for my walk now - at least the sun is shining a bit Smile

JaneJeffer · 11/05/2020 15:57

No cuckoo pictures yet but here's one of the lesser spotted washing machine which finally made an appearance today. I've just plumbed it in and it's going to get a baptism of fire.

magimedi · 11/05/2020 16:26

Hooray for the washing machine. How long have you been without one??

JaneJeffer · 11/05/2020 16:30

Two weeks!

Two weeksJane Shock

Good luck!

I saw some cows, horses and lambs on my walk earlier - I think I definitely deserve the AC wildlife badge Grin

The Tennis Podcast Are selling I Miss Tennis t-shirts - I think I need one!

Ah Jane I'm glad to hear the machine finally arrived! Good news.

Impressive wildlife spotting everyone Grin AC would be loving it.

I've achieved nothing today, feel like I've just faffed around ineffectually and achieved nowt Hmm

Did manage to get DS to do some schoolwork but that was about it Hmm

magimedi · 11/05/2020 22:17

Did manage to get DS to do some schoolwork

I gather that that feat is mighty impressive these days - well done Private.

Raahh · 12/05/2020 09:51

Morning! It's raining here. The Breat British Weather has decided 'extra exercise to the park? nah!' Grin.

Magi getting anyone to do school work, is indeed a massive feat. Getting anyone out of bed is an achievement in itself. It will be a big shock to dd2 if she does have to school in a few weeks Grin.

Big shock to me too- I have realised just how much anxiety the school run causes me (daft , I know), but not having to ferry the girls around these past few weeks, and make small talk in playgrounds has been great Grin.

Fizzywinegum · 12/05/2020 10:15

Just use social distancing as an excuse not to make small talk Raahh (I would!)

Done my weekly shop - it seemed quieter than usual - maybe everyone has gone back to work Hmm

I think I’m going to make scones - Spidey do you have a preferred recipe?

I agree that anyone getting their child to do any schoolwork is a great achievement - just glad that I don’t have to do it!

Have a good day everyone.

Raahh · 12/05/2020 10:22

Fizzy that's a good ideaGrin( especially as dd2 decided to have a big falling out with her 'best friend' the week before they had to finish school- and has had no contact since. Her mum was about the only sane one there Grin). Just kidding- but it will make it awkward going back. If they do. Don't you just love 9 year old girls? Grin.

My biggest problem is not only getting her to do the work (given up with the older one- it's on her to explain to her teachers why she has done so little, I have decided, I'm done). It is uploading the stuff to the various school websites. I am sure I am doing it all wrongGrin.
