Shock I made brownies with DS this afternoon as well!! Psychic tennis thread baking!! Cake Tennis

There is loads of sugar in them isn't there, I'd forgotten how much tbh! Plus chocolate of course. And I left a lot out (it said add chopped up chocolate pieces - there was already loads of chocolate in it!! Thought we could live without that Hmm)

JaneJeffer · 21/05/2020 17:57

500g of sugar in the ones I made! I kept saying to DS2 that can't be right but went for it anyway. Mine had cocoa instead of chocolate. I only had half the amount of peanut butter required left but they came out fine.

Recipe https://kerrygold.com/ie/recipes/peanut-butter-brownies/ if anyone isn't fond of their teeth or waistline Grin

Jedward Grin. How random!

Fizzywinegum · 21/05/2020 19:42

Peanut butter brownies sound amazing - my jeans are feeling a bit tight already Blush

We’ve got baked cheesecake for desert - courtesy of DH. Smile

JaneJeffer · 21/05/2020 19:45

Sounds lovely Fizzy

He does look a bit gnome-like! Grin

kazzaD66 · 22/05/2020 08:54

Stan GrinBear

He does Magi but does that make him less porcine, in your opinion? Grin

Raahh · 22/05/2020 08:58
Grin

Turns out Stan is quite handy then- gardens, cooks/bakes, drinks wine.

Fizzywinegum · 22/05/2020 09:14

Stan’s definitely ticking all the lockdown boxes isn’t he? Grin

His soil looks a bit poor though and I’m not sure about gardening in nice white trainers - I think he should stick to cooking!

Fizzywinegum · 22/05/2020 09:14

Oh they’re sort of yellow but still look new!

PrivateSpidey · 22/05/2020 10:52

Grin love Stan. What is he planting - tomatoes?

He definitely has ticked all the lockdown boxes hasn't he - now he just needs to do a 1000 piece jigsaw and he's done!

Fizzywinegum · 22/05/2020 10:59

Grin Spidey - think Stan will have to be really bored before he does a jigsaw!

How is yours coming on?

Raahh · 22/05/2020 20:22

It's Djok's birthday today.

I very much doubt he had as much fun as Stan did on his birthday.

Do we think he had pizza and Wine?

Fizzywinegum · 22/05/2020 20:56

Maybe a gluten free one with no cheese and some green juice?

May is also quite a busy time for tennis birthdays Cake

Rafa will have to miss out on being presented with a crazy cake at the French a Open this year Sad

Raahh · 22/05/2020 20:59

Poor Rafa,Sad I hope someone makes him a cake. Stan, maybe? Grin

RG should have started on Sunday Sad

Djok will most definitely be celebrating with something green. Whilst claiming birthday cake causes Covid, most likely.

PrivateSpidey · 22/05/2020 21:28

Grin happy birthday Djok!!

I was thinking that about RG earlier Sad I'm so gloomy about no tennis. Sometimes it sort of feels like I'm so used to it now and I just forget about it because of everything else that's going on, but then I remember how crap it is without it Sad

Trying not dwell on it though! Should watch some YouTube highlights or something to cheer myself up!

DH was telling me that rugby is restarting in NZ in a few weeks, and I actually felt quite excited about it Grin - definitely planning to watch - real live sport where you don't know the outcome!! I can hardly imagine it Confused

Fizzywinegum · 22/05/2020 21:31

Maybe Rafa can make his own cake if he works out how to hold the mixer properly Grin

I wrote all the Grand Slam dates in my calendar this year so that I wouldn’t book holidays at the same time and now neither are likely to be happening Sad

Fizzywinegum · 22/05/2020 21:47

Even I might watch the live rugby Spidey and I’m definitely not a fan!

Even though I love Tennis rewatching matches where I already know the outcome just doesn’t appeal to me - I think I’ll really feel it when it’s Wimbledon fortnight - all this free time and no tennis to watch Sad

JaneJeffer · 22/05/2020 22:06

The boys have been the watching Bundesliga matches just to watch some football but to me it's like watching training because there's no crowd.

Djok will think he's had a great birthday but, given the choice, I'd choose to celebrate with Stan CakeWineGinBearGrin

Met a couple of friends whilst DH and I were out for our walk this morning. Not planned, but we were walking past the village hall car park and recognised their cars in the car park, wandered round to the back of the village hall and they were there. Spent the best part of an hour chatting and it was lovely to just see someone who wasn't DH or DS Grin

magimedi · 23/05/2020 07:38

To cheer you all up!

The wonderful Dillie Keane (of Fascinating Aida) has released a topical song for her birthday!

Fizzywinegum · 23/05/2020 12:21

Very good magi Grin - my friend is a big fan of Fascinating Aida and has seen them live. I’m not even going to say anything about Dominic Cummings ...

It’s very windy here (again) - we were going to go for a walk but where we were going is a bit exposed so we’re going tomorrow instead.

kazza I bumped into someone that I don’t particularly like on one of my walks and had quite a good natter with her - as you say I think it’s just the novelty of talking to someone outside your household!

Hope everyone is OK - I’m going to watch a live virtual event from the Hay Literary Festival in a bit - I’ve always wanted to go so I guess this is better than nothing (and it’s free and I don’t have to stay in a tent!)

JaneJeffer · 23/05/2020 18:55

Great song magi Grin

I've been to Tesco. It wasn't too bad but they've put all the cheese, dairy and meat behind glass doors which is a pain when you're half blind. I don't see how it helps because everyone then has to handle the door. I'm also not impressed with soap and cleaning products going way up in price. Anyway I quite enjoyed being out and DH was glad to get a break from shopping Hmm
