My mum's doll should have made a 'mama' noise. Didn't when I was little (I though it was the ugliest thing ever Blush- wasn't really into dolls).

Raahh · 20/05/2020 20:52

They have done a lovely job of Mary. No tears here, honest.

JaneJeffer · 20/05/2020 20:54

They're so talented.

It's a lovely programme, the idea is so simple. And I sobbed through the Christmas one when they made each other secret Santa gifts.

Now for Sewing Bee- and I am still awake for now Grin.

Fizzywinegum · 20/05/2020 21:13

Well done Raahh!

Even as a small child I thought that Hamble was a weird name for a doll (I remember Playschool!)

Sewing Bee is getting quite smutty with all that boning going on Shock

kazzaD66 · 20/05/2020 21:41

Unfortunately I'm old enough to remember Play School. Jemima was the other doll, wasn't she? Brian Cant was quite a jolly chap Grin

Boning & Patrick makes me come over all 'unnecessary' !!

Oh, the joy of being old & able to dream.....................

Cheeky Benoit (need to delete this one off my phone).

Oh I say Jane what a picture to wake up to! Grin

magi I’ve got a bit of a soft spot for Patrick on Sewing Bee - he seemed to quite enjoy repeatedly saying boning last night Shock. I was surprised to read that he’s Scottish - he hides his accent well.

It’s DS1’s 21st birthday today - luckily more KFCs have opened in the last few days so that’s his birthday tea sorted!

magimedi · 21/05/2020 07:52

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to DSFizzy.

Hope he enjoys his KFC.

Cake Wine

Raahh · 21/05/2020 09:47

Fizzy we ordered a KFC on Tuesday (no veggie options on the menu yet, but I wasn't bothered)- but they missed off part of the the order. So dh had to go and sit in the drive through queue was 40 minutes Grin. Everyone enjoyed what they had- just need MacDonalds to reopen, and ds can get some work!

And as usual, I fell asleep during Sewing Bee Blush. Did see part of the first challenge though.

Jane Grin at that picture of Benoit!

Raahh · 21/05/2020 09:50

And yy- Play School. I always wanted a Humpty. Never got one.

Fizzywinegum · 21/05/2020 10:14

Thanks magi

Raahh that always seems to happen to us with KFC - something is usually missing! I think we’re sending DH to the drive through - rather him than me!

I think they said on the news that some McDonalds might be opening so fingers crossed for your DS.

I’ve been having too many cakes, treats and drinkies recently and not much exercise - feeling a bit tubby Hmm

Fizzywinegum · 21/05/2020 10:15

I think I’m on the Stan diet Grin

PrivateSpidey · 21/05/2020 10:34

Grin Me too Fizzy

Happy birthday to your DS, hope he has a good day. Good news about the KFC!

Good work with your knowledge of waterways Raahh - sounds v educational. The only "homeschool" we did yesterday was discussing WW2 (off the back of watching Captain America: The First Avenger Grin just didn't have the heart to go through another argument about why he should be doing maths or whatever. I think we're going to do some "topic" work today so wish me luck!

I haven't seen this week's Sewing Bee or Repair Shop yet. I agree with everything you were saying about the Repair Shop and about Patrick from the Bee!! Must catch up ASAP....

magimedi · 21/05/2020 11:29

In my youth (back in the mists of time) I lived in a flat in London above a 24hour KFC.

I haven't eaten one since Grin

JaneJeffer · 21/05/2020 11:36

Grin a friend of mine worked in a chicken processing plant for a while when we were younger. He never ate chicken again!

Hope your DS has a lovely 21st Fizzy. It's a busy birthday month for you!

Thank you Jane - it is! That’s why I usually end up on the Stan diet in May!

I’m not a massive fan of KFC but I’m happy to eat anything that I’ve not cooked!

PrivateSpidey · 21/05/2020 12:16

Omg yes. We had Domino's last week - it was the best meal I've ever eaten Grin (maybe).

DH and DS have been doing a bit of cooking, to be fair, but it's thinking of what to eat that I hate the most! Arghhh!!

magimedi · 21/05/2020 12:23

thinking of what to eat that I hate the most! Arghhh!!

So agree with you, Private.

One of my solutions to that is the 10 day menu! You can rotate it over & over & no one guesses as it's never a case of : "Why do we have XYZ every Monday?"

The other solution (and it takes a few weeks!) is to wtite down a list of all the meals you have & then split them into headings eg: fish, mince, chicken, veg & keep the list(s) somewhere really safe & it's a great help to ruddy meal planning.

If I lived alone I'd live on pasta, eggs & salad.

Fizzywinegum · 21/05/2020 12:42

I also totally agree - I hate meal planning normally but now that there are four of us at home and I have to make sure that I’ve got all the ingredients for every meal so that I don’t have to keep going back to the shops it’s a nightmare - grrr!

I might add Domino’s to the meal plan though - unless Stan wants to make me one - I’ll have mine with gluten please Grin

JaneJeffer · 21/05/2020 14:04

Until Tuesday I hadn't been in a shop for 79 days! DH doing the shopping makes meal planning even more painful because I would usually plan as I'm shopping depending on what I like the look of.
