No duff duff and no music at the end made it even stronger. Very few episodes have ever ended like that.

AlwaysInAQ · 18/09/2020 22:09

It was very hard to watch
How will he ever get found out though?

Figgygal · 18/09/2020 22:10

What a bastard
Great acting from both of them

Smallsteps88 · 18/09/2020 22:15

Well Kheerat knows she was leaving Gray and that she was being abused. Hopefully as soon as he hears what has happened he’ll speak to the police.
OnlyFoolsnMothers · 18/09/2020 22:15

Didn’t think I’d actually hate a character as much as Jeff on Corrie but Gray has now surpassed - can’t even think there’s an actor there. Which I guess is testimony to them.

Smallsteps88 · 18/09/2020 22:18

Ooh I’ve just had an awful thought! Kheerats prints will be on the spare key, the door handle, maybe elsewhere. She left a voicemail telling Kheerat she was staying with gray. What if Gray points the finger at Kheerat accusing him of attacking her in anger! Shock

Facelikearustytractor · 18/09/2020 22:27

I think the point of him pushing her and her falling on the dishwasher was a message that even without obvious intent to kill, domestic violence can result in death. It is a message to both the women who have had severe injuries as a result of DV and those that may be at the start of DV developing in their relationship - some control being exercised and some pushing around/heavy handedness. It shows that things don't need to escalate to a certain level for DV to result in a tragic outcome. I think the writers have got it right.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 18/09/2020 23:00

Was Gray trying to make it look like Chantelle ha d fallen over the toy Ambulance. The forensics will know that's not the case because of how she's landed.

Overseasmom100 · 18/09/2020 23:03

Yes I thought he said my wifes had an accident. Made me shudder

Smallsteps88 · 18/09/2020 23:08

Yep that’s what he was doing with the toy car. But her stomach will have bruising from where he punched her. She was alive for a while aged it happened, long enough for him to go to the bin, the shop and a drink in the pub so bruising will have formed before she died. They will be able to tell very easily that she was assaulted pretty close to when she fell.

StillWeRise · 18/09/2020 23:23

2 women a week are killed by their partners or former partners, that has been a farily steady figure
but under lockdown it has risen to 3 a week

AntiHop · 18/09/2020 23:36

Can someone do a synopsis of the episode not just that bit? I'm not going to watch it.

excelledyourself · 19/09/2020 00:08

I forgot about this tonight. Not sure if I'm glad I missed it.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 19/09/2020 00:18

He dialled 999 then didn't press the 'connect' button but put his phone in his pocket . I thought maybe the phone connection would be made and they'd hear it all? But then you'd hear them trying to make contact. (Though secretly I wanted him to look at his screen and think "Fuck, I've been on a 999 for fifteen minutes"

UsernameNotValid · 19/09/2020 00:24

@AntiHop - it began with Chantelle and Gray back at home disabling the alarm that Kheerat had set off but no one was home. We see that Kheerat had taken the memory box Chantelle sent him for. Chantelle managed to phone him secretly from the house too so he heard that something wasn't right.

Mitch was worried about her and phoned to remjnd her that he was always there if she needed to talk.

Gray confronted her about the poker chip that she had hidden and she told him her plans to leave, giving him a bit of a tongue lashing about him being weak etc. He emotionally blackmailed her by threatening the children's lives, he pushed her and she fell onto the dishwasher rack, lying conscious but unable to move.

The kids woke up and Gray comforted then and put them back to bed then went out and left Chantelle to start creating his alibi for the evening talking to people and ensuring he was seen in the pub, the shop etc before heading back to stage the scene phoning an ambulance for his wife who'd had an accident.

Apologies if that's too graphic but it's hard to tie in as not much else happened.

I know it's "only" a soap but my heart goes cold when I think of one of those kids coming downstairs for a drink or something and finding their Mum there 😞

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 19/09/2020 00:47

I know, those poor babies. I think EE have gone in the right direction with the story line having the character killed off rather than a happy ending, because heartbreakingly not everyone gets a happy ending.

Facelikearustytractor · 19/09/2020 08:41

I do wonder if the voicemail to Kheerat will give something away. Was that from her secret phone that was disposed of? Surely that will give something away. Suki knew he was up to something too. I quite like her as a sour faced shop keeper. I think she has grown into her role well, even though her character isn't particularly likeable.

I am trying to find the gaps in his made up Alibi as I really don't want the character to get away with it. Wasn't a tracking device found in the car too before?

dogsdinnerlady · 19/09/2020 08:44

Grey did say 'you're not going anywhere, ever' before she fell so he had threatened her life. Is it possible one of those phones was on 'record'? I have to agree that the treatment of women in EE over the years has been a series of rapes, killings, kidnaps, betrayals and general emotional and physical abuse. More about ratings than social awareness imo.

SpanishFly · 19/09/2020 08:58

I have a feeling this will go on and on for a while before we get any resolution 😕 So much time was given to the storyline that they won't wrap it up quickly.

Poor Karen. She'll be conned by him too, while in her grief.

Rafflesway · 19/09/2020 09:29

i think we can look forward to some amazing acting from Lorraine Stanley over the coming weeks following the death of her on screen dd.
😢

Loved Chantelle as a character and will really miss her phenomenal hair!

Lardlizard · 19/09/2020 09:32

I thought it was badly done, he threatens to kill the kids yet she then started saying she will never love him and he’s weak etc
After he said he would rather strangle the kids than let her leave and take them

Also she had the perfect opportunity to say to her family when they were all there together
Got something to say we are separating
Just drop the bomb

I think ee talk the talk
Say it’s all about raising awareness
But really it’s just about viewing figures

Lardlizard · 19/09/2020 09:33

And the fact he did it by accident and now is planning on getting away with it and dragging it on, only makes me even more cynical

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 19/09/2020 09:39

I was wondering whether Whitney is going to get 'sucked in' by his 'chivalry'. She has history with dating the wrong men.

Quite possible that in that state Gray was in he's done the wrong thing with the wrong phone?

But if the phone is relevant isn't that a bit tedious because we've recently had all that with the Denny/Ian/Sharon storyline?

Suki knew he was up to something too. She's definitely not very likeable but because she herself is a bit of a 'wrong un' I'm sure she can sniff it out in others! Maybe she'll try blackmailing him.

Agree with whoever thought that Gray may blame/frame Kheerat. Good call.

Phillycheesesteak · 19/09/2020 09:54

How old are their kids? Chantelle is meant to be about 25? Shes young to have kids of that age. Is Gray older?

Mrsjayy · 19/09/2020 10:02

I think Chantelle is nearer 27 she could have started having her DC at 18 I think her youngest 5 or6 and her oldest looks 9 or 10
