Livid now 😡

kfcplease · 17/09/2020 22:40

Lol livid is a bit strong 😂

Blondeshavemorefun · 17/09/2020 23:36

OMFG

JUST FOR ONCE I WOULD LIKE THE EE THREAD TO NOT HAVE SPOILERS

EVERY-TIME I PUT NO SPOILERS IN THE TITLE

EVERY TIME THERE IS ONE

WHY

BLOODY PISSES ME OFF

I have said many times unless we have seen it on ee. We don't speak about it till has been shown

Some of us actually like watching and not knowing what will happen

But now we do :(

And took me Ages to post this as kept getting kicked of the thread - mn probs or chrome

@Akire

This is why I didn’t go on thread for months because always someone spoils it. It is 100% possible to change channel after show and not look forums and not watch soap reviews on tv or social media. It’s never “everyone knows”.
This !!!

There is a spoilers thread

No need on here

We’re Smallsteps and I the only viewers?! Is everyone giving it a break because of DV?

I'm giving it a break for that reason. There is enough shit going on in real life (talking about further restrictions and maybe lockdown) without turning on the tv to have a break from it, only to see Grey abusing Chantelle by making her trying to drown in a bath. That bath scene is still vivid in my mind and I haven't watched it since.

I didn't read the spoiler that was deleted above and I don't read spoilers or magazines (do they even print magazines anymore) but I know what is going to happen because it flashed up on my FB feed. I don't know the details of it though and won't watch anyway.

This thread keeps me up to date.

Smallsteps88 · 17/09/2020 23:56

I’ve never understood what is so hard to get your head around about “if it hasn’t been on the show yet- it’s a spoiler!” That’s very clear and easy to understand yet in every single soap thread people say “oops I thought everyone knew because it was on a trailer/on Facebook” Hmm

TomBradysLeftKneecap · 18/09/2020 00:15

Does anyone know where Chantelle's coat is from? I loved it.

SpanishFly · 18/09/2020 07:08

@kfcplease

Lol livid is a bit strong 😂
Glad it's hilarious to you that EE is literally my one pleasure at the moment, which has now also been spoiled. Yep, so funny @kfcplease
southeastdweller · 18/09/2020 08:10

Why are spoilers appearing in people's FB feed? Are you all following EE on there?

Akire · 18/09/2020 08:15

It’s snobbery I think. No one would post who won Bake off or Strictly or BGT without expecting uproar. Yet when you invest time watching character for years and years not just a few weeks, people can’t understand why you don’t want to know before hand.

Smallsteps88 · 18/09/2020 08:21

I don’t follow EE or iplayer on FB specifically so I can avoid spoilers.

gingercat02 · 18/09/2020 08:53

Agree re spoilers. I occasionally have a look on digital spy but manage not to blab it all on here 🤬
Re Chantelle even having your family and friends know about DV and be completely on your side often isn't enough to leave. Family friend was regularly badly beaten by her OH (hospital levels) and everyone knew and told her to get out but she still couldn't/wouldn't leave

Alongcameacat · 18/09/2020 09:08

I follow EE on Istagram. It’s usually more snippets of the actors talking, carrying a camera around the set type of thing. I like it.

I looked for Chantelle’s coat but couldn’t find it. I’m guessing it’s the blue, red and cream one? Have you tried tweeting EE or the actress Jessica Plummer herself? If you find it, please let me know. I don’t want it as am too short for it but it is lovely and that brand probably has other lovely clothes too.

southeastdweller · 18/09/2020 09:44

I think with the spoiler going on now some people assume that everyone would know because it’s been publicised so much. I’m not saying I agree but some spoilers are more out there than others so I can I understand the assumption. This particular spoiler has been on the EE FB, their Instagram, Digital Spy and in newspapers.

SpanishFly · 18/09/2020 09:50

No I understand that. And I don't mean for my comment to come across as flippant, as I know it's such a complex scenario. I was more referring specifically to this storyline- as she has already decided to leave and has made the first steps to do so. So therefore when her while family were being told by Grey that he would keep the kids so she could enjoy her holiday, it's frustrating that she didn't say "no, hang on, they're coming too, my parents have missed them/I need a break with them etc", then when Grey insisted they return home due to the burglar alarm, "No, you go home and check it's safe, I'll stay here with the kids/I don't feel well so need my bed" then used that opportunity to never be alone in his company ever again.

Yeah maybe the assumption is there, but when a thread says NO SPOILERS in the title, it shouldn't be too much of a stretch to assume that some people DON'T know about it, since they deliberately don't follow EE on social media and rarely read newspapers etc.
SafeInBed · 18/09/2020 10:05

Ps I know DV is way more complex than just speaking up, but she has so many get-outs while in the safety of her family, yet keeps going back to being alone with him.

I agree. It makes me so mad because my mum was abused for years and had a supportive family who would have helped but no... All she had to say was "Dad, go and get the kids from the car, we're not going anywhere with this man, he's been abusing me" and she cab stay with Karen and Mitch while she gets back on her feet... Even better if she would have actually shown Karen and Mitch the bruises after he'd beaten her for "evidence"... I just don't understand it. It's caused big issues for me and my mum over the years, with me really resenting her for staying, and I fear Mack and Mia know more than they let on and if anything bad happens to Chantel they will have to deal with "why didn't mummy just leave or tell someone"

How can she go on like that knowing Gray could reasonably kill her, knowing the pain her kids will go through if that happened!? I don't understand what goes on in her head tbh

Akire · 18/09/2020 11:58

Why is it hard to grasp some of us don’t Follow soaps on social media or read what’s up next on front cover of magazines or this morning. I’m on twitter and Facebook and Instagram but don’t follow any TV themes. Never ever see a spoiler until someone blabs here.

SpanishFly · 18/09/2020 12:00

I know. It's infuriating. But apparently it's also funny if people are pissed off about it 😒

Akire · 18/09/2020 12:02

I follow Eastenders Facebook spoiler page so presumed everyone knew is not defence.
Shame we can’t have one space on the Internet

@SpanishFly

Lol I do find it funny but it's more the way you said it that was funny tbh. But I'm sorry I didn't get the importance of it to you until you said. I just see it as a soap. I shouldn't have commented sorry. Thanks
SpanishFly · 18/09/2020 14:10

Thanks. It IS just a soap, you're right.
But they're a huge part of people's lives with varying degrees of importance/escapism etc. Even when I haven't had my own shite going on, spoilers really piss me off, I don't want to watch EE knowing what is going to happen, same way as I dont want to watch a movie or read a book knowing how it ends.

NigellasGuest · 18/09/2020 19:08

I read spoilers but would never even hint at them on this thread!
I'm really pleased EE is back up and running- perhaps it's more important in my life than I thought! I can see how it could be very important to people that's for sure.

This

Why watch something you know how will end

Or read a book knowing what happens

It spoils it

NigellasGuest · 18/09/2020 20:25

I disagree, because I for one do enjoy dramatisations if real life events where everyone knows what happens. BUT it is wrong to post spoilers on a thread that is specifically spoiler free.
