Changed the name of this thread as we were very upset with the ending of series 3 out in Bangladesh! Waiting out for news of series 4 and hoping it might not be long now. In the meantime, we are reviewing the seven series of Soldier Soldier.

Now back at work, George is training the new recruit. She does sound quite tough here. I think she does this quite well. Poor Mimi, she reminds me a bit of Molly.

Oh, gosh, yes ilove this is a bit more obvious. Mind you, Mimi is a bit conversational in tone with Georgie. Can't imagine that is entirely normal.

Our new Lieutenant is the real definition of a Rupert! Not feeling the love for him at all.

So, the officer is a bit green - wishing he'd been in Afghan - hmmm. Slightly worried he was going to turn out to be CJ's son all grown up with some massive leap in time.

Lots of introductions of the new characters in this episode - referring to Prof and mentioning detention.

Of course, Georgie knows much better than anyone else as usual.

Throbber - terrible name. Yes, this is a very poor response. At least Kingy pulls him up on it.

No mention of the old boss here - when are we going to learn anything, or aren't we. Is it just going to be as if CJ had never been there. Kingy wants her to go to Afghan.

Throbber is so childish that I really wonder how he made it through basic training.

Can't help feeling this - with all the flashbacks - should have been how the Nigeria and leater episodes should have been. And there ought to have been a flashback when Bones was blown up.

So the Prof is a bit too clever for the army and not mixing in as well as he should.

Kingy is right but not sure it's the way to go about it!

I like the Prof. What a lovely lad but not like the rest of them, that's for sure.

Trouble brewing on the dance floor!! Punch up and potential disaster.

You can tell Prof was a teacher, because he was the first to say do you need a hand - not the trainee medic.

At least the punch up and a girl seriously injured gives Mimi a chance to practise her new skills. I think it's going to have given her confidence. She so reminds me of Molly.

With Mimi washing Prof's shirt, I wonder if this could be our platoon romance this series?

Yes ilove there are hints that she and Prof might gravitate to each other. She was obviously capable of university and she just mentioned her photo being on the "piano" - sounds a bit middle-class.

Now this is like OG 1 as they arrive in Afghanistan.

Georgie rejoins the platoon and is going back to Afghan with them.

Lt Hurst (have I got that right) is a pratt.

Still can't understand that we appear to have increased the numbers in the platoon but have downgraded to a Lt from a captain.

I reckon it was a bit unrealistic to have CJ in charge of Two Section for so long, anyway. It probably should have been a lieutenant - but his one is a 2nd lieutenant so really green.
