My DS just called Federer a dipstick Grin

I asked where he got that from as it's a bit of an unusual insult for a 9 year old - he said it was from Flushed Away Grin

Raahh · 15/08/2019 22:09

Flushed Away? GrinI loved that film. Wasted on kids.

(I watched that daily for what felt like a year- mostly with ds).

Then we moved on to Bolt. I loved Bolt. Grin

Private Grin at your DS

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought Kim didn't look her best at her wedding. I thought it was just about the worst I'd ever seen her. The dress, her hair and make up. Normally, she looks effortlessly stunning and natural, so I really don't know what happened that day. Having said that, it matters not a jot what I think. Both her and Andy and the rest of their families looked so happy (although were the bridesmaid's dresses a bit meugh, or am I just making that up? Hmm)

Too cool for school

I'm becoming a real Taylor Fritz fan Grin

kazza they all looked happy, and it's the best I've ever seen Andy look. And I'm not one for thinking Andy ever looks good Grin. I like a kilt though.Grin. But Kim's dress, and the awful bridesmaids (you didn't dream those, they were a very odd colour, and a funny style), were just odd. Totally at odds with how she usually looked.

I think it might have been chosen to fit the venue, and 'feel' of the day, (rural-ish Scottish Wedding type thing) rather than be something that actually fitted and suited her.

But she looked really happy, and that's all that matters in the end.

That's funny , Jane.

I quite like a lot of the younger ones. The media are feeding us this line that we need under arm serves and abuse of umpires, to be entertaining.

But I like 'nice'. There's nothing wrong with nice.

Taylor is another, who like Khachanov and Medvedev, married young I think, and has a child. I think Fritz married very young- he's still only 21. It might explain why he is more mature than the likes of the slightly older Dick.

Just read the report on the Murrays playing each other in the next round. Andy says something like......it's not ideal, but we'll still be brothers at the end of the match - unless something untoward happens.

I wonder if Judy will watch?

Maybe she hides on the stairs, too. Grin

Poor Judy Grin Can’t imagine how nerve wracking watching both her sons play each other must be! I think on Breakfast telly it said that she’d posted a hands over her eyes emoji. She probably sits on the stairs with a hoody on, wearing a big hat and hiding behind a dog Grin

So after this And’s not playing in the doubles - he’s going to concentrate on the singles maybe playing a few challenger tournaments. Bet Jamie’s pleased!

magimedi · 16/08/2019 08:46

RAFA'S WEDDING

Verdasco & Lopez are invited.

I am just off to buy my outfit Grin

Raahh · 16/08/2019 09:05

Fizzy yes , I regularly try to hide behind the dog when watching Rafa.

Trouble is, he's a miniature schnauzer, so there's not enough of him to hide behind Grin.

I need St Bernard.

I will get a hat for Rafa's wedding. I hope they have a lovely day for it.

kazzaD66 · 16/08/2019 09:12

It should be less stressful for Judy, surely?
She's at least guaranteed a Murray victory, whichever son wins Grin

kazzaD66 · 16/08/2019 09:18

Re Rafa's wedding. I remember that estate from The Night Manager - it's stunning!

I'd keep an eye out for ex King Juan Carlos. Apparently, he's still a bit of a ladies man Wink

Raahh · 16/08/2019 09:24

kazza it is an amazing venue.

It's half term week, that week. Maybe a trip to Majorca would be nice.

Small matter of not having had a valid passport for 6 years aside. Grin.

Fizzywinegum · 16/08/2019 10:14

We’re going near there in two weeks time!!! (Excited!) we went on a boat trip a few years ago and went past it - I also remember it from The Night Manager!

We need to arrange a Tennis thread trip to Mallorca to gatecrash the wedding. I definitely need a hat Grin

Fizzywinegum · 16/08/2019 10:14

I’m sure Rafa wouldn’t mind a few extra guests! Grin

JaneJeffer · 16/08/2019 10:43

I've seen a lovely dress in the sales and need an excuse to buy it. Rafa?

PrivateIsles · 16/08/2019 15:45

Just catching up on your wedding chat Grin v enjoyable!

Glad to hear Feli and Verdasco are invited, surely they'll both need to wear their glasses so they can read the order of service?! Hope so.

Raahh · 16/08/2019 16:32

I have just been to see Toy Story 4 for dd1's birthdayGrin. Followed by Nandos- where, as usual I managed to spill dinner down my front.

I shouldn't ever be allowed out. Grin

OP posts:
Fizzywinegum · 16/08/2019 19:07

Did you enjoy Toy Story 4 Raahh? The scene in the antiques shop made my 20 year old DS jump out of his skin! Grin

Raahh · 16/08/2019 19:10

Fizzy Grin

We did enjoy it- there were some very funny moments and yes, some bits were a bit creepy Grin.

I might have shed a tear at the end- but it wasn't as much of a sob fest at the last one!

OP posts:
Fizzywinegum · 16/08/2019 19:32

I also felt a bit emotional at the end Raahh - the Toy Story films were a big part of my kids growing up.

In tennis news Gasquet has taken the first set against RBA - is it really necessary for them to film a player coming out of the toilet? Hmm

I think the Murrays are playing at about 9.30pm. You’ve got a point about Judy kazza - yes at least one of her sons will win Grin

Still excited about Rafa’s wedding - I hope we do get to see some pictures

PrivateIsles · 16/08/2019 19:40

Allez Richard! It's a close match this one. I like RBA but I really want Richard to win.

They are doing that annoying thing of playing the QFs over two different days in Cincinnati (just why?!?!) so I've no idea when anyone else is playing - I think Djok plays tomorrow but not sure.

I really want to see Toy Story 4! I'm going to try and persuade my DS but I doubt he'll go for it. it's all interminable Avengers atm Hmm

Btw apparently - for anyone who's interested, Raahh I think you might be able to skip this paragraph Grin Andy Murray is going to be on Classic FM on Sunday choosing his favourite classical music! He's really into it apparently. It sounds like a sort of classical Desert Island Discs. I'll probably tune in.
