It's here.

Eight seasons of love, hate, family, battles, history, mystery, myth and legend.

After laying waste to Kings' Landing, what next for Daenerys? Does destiny feel good when you kill thousands of innocents to reach it?

I will really miss these characters and their stories. Epic, must-watch television is rare. Will we ever see its like again?

And now our watch is ended.

Woohoo! Roll on 6 am!

MsMarvellous · 19/05/2019 08:39

Winter has well and truly come. I'll be back after I've watched it tomorrow and not before. Catch you on the flip side!

boldlygoingsomewhere · 19/05/2019 08:40

And now our watch is ended.

But I don’t want it to...Sad

Looking forward to seeing how it all plays out but I will miss these characters and their world. Hoping the next book comes out soon so that I can go back to it quickly.

So excited for the last episode, eager to see what happens to dany, surely she cant end up on the throne after what she did?? And what of jon? No matter how often he says it she don't seem to believe he don't want to rule the 7 kingdoms, plus greyworm noticed he was trying to stop people fighting last week after cersei's guys had layed down their swords and greyworm etc charged in anyway!

Greyworm is sure to tell dany, who will see it as betrayal, she's so mad now i fear for jons life, and tyrions too!

Ironicly i find this thread as im on my way to thronefest for the day 😆

BlackCatSleeping · 19/05/2019 09:40

Just marking my place Smile

OrianaBanana · 19/05/2019 09:41

Jon was a good leader up to the point he got killed by his own subordinates. Can’t see him keen to repeat the experience to be honest!

ELW85 · 19/05/2019 09:41

I’m actually nervous for it. It might be an unpopular opinion, but the writing has been super lazy this season.
Obviously I couldn’t ever abandon it though!!

BlackCatSleeping · 19/05/2019 09:57

Yes, the fact that Jon was killed before makes me nervous. The whole thing with the faceless men was that when Arya saved the three men, she owed the god three lives in exchange. Surely saving Jon from death upsets the balance?

Jon did agree to become King in the North though. So, he is still willing to step up to the plate if necessary.

I like the idea of a collation to rule, but is it stable enough?

Ah, so many questions!

@BlackCatSleeping - a coalition is as likely as Brexit at the moment!

I’m gutted about the direction of Daenerys- not sure how she (or many others) can survive. Also don’t want Sansa on the throne though...

DeadWife · 19/05/2019 10:15

Eek ! Thank you.

Grinthat could sound depraved if we were of a salacious medieval mind.

BlackCatSleeping · 19/05/2019 10:25

That’s when you start going around in circles. If not Jon, then who?

It needs someone who is strong enough to take the throne and hold it. Otherwise what is the point? We know Varys wrote a shit ton of letters to all the powerful people in the country telling them to support Jon.

If it ends on a cliff-hanger, I’ll cry!! I want peace in Westeros.

ELW85 · 19/05/2019 10:31

I honestly think it’s going to end without someone on the throne, but I hope I’m wrong!

Honeyroar · 19/05/2019 10:31

Dany is surely going to go after Sansa too. She was blaming her for telling people about Jon prior to the battle. If she carried out her plan she'd end up very lonely on her iron throne with everyone dead! She can't have children, so can't have successors either. It's hardly worth it.

SweetSummerchild · 19/05/2019 10:32

I can’t believe I’ve been watching this show and theorising about its direction since 2011 and tomorrow it will all be over!

It’s a strange thought. I’ve never been so invested in a TV series and doubt I ever will be again.

At least it’s been a good distraction from thinking about Brexit!

ELW85 · 19/05/2019 10:40

@Honeyroar - agree, and Dany is beyond reason now. The moment she snapped and torched everything in sight regardless of they were allies or not kind of sealed the deal.
I just hope they give Tyrion a decent monologue before he gets incinerated...

BurntSausage · 19/05/2019 10:56

Squeeeeeeeaaaak I cannot wait! The original plan was for me and DH to get up at 2am and sneak downstairs for celebratory/commiseratory snacks, but in reality getting out of bed is just too hard. We’ve watched it in bed for the rest of the series. I just hope I can get to sleep. I’m too knackered from Eurovision to just stay up till 2!

BrienneofTarthILoveYou · 19/05/2019 11:03

Just checking in for later - I only started watching this year so have binge watched them all in the last few months but feel totally engrossed and invested in the outcome. Truly the best thing on TV & just hope that the ending is satisfactory (I don't mean happy-ending, all sorted, but rather true to the characters and story lines!)

agirlhasnonameX · 19/05/2019 11:25

And now our watch is ended.

Can't believe that's it all over, 9 years of my life and it all ends tonight, what am I going to with my time 😂 such a strange feeling not to have any more.

Watching the whole season again today and will be staying up tonight, excited and sad at the same time!

@OneInAMillionYou Thank you so much for these threads, has been such a pleasure to talk to the posters here, it's made the weeks fly in and I'll miss this too when it's all over!!!Thanks

ineedtobuyafan · 19/05/2019 11:28

Has anyone already shared The Take's analysis:

I can't say I'm loving the final season but I do enjoy their analysis, it gives Dany's storyline more depth.

itswinetime · 19/05/2019 12:07

It's the final countdown do do dooo..... just place-marking ready for tonight will be watching at 2 but might stay off the thread till after as I'm normally about 5mins behind to avoid the ads

BlackCatSleeping · 19/05/2019 12:09

It must be tough for the actors. Many of them were just children when they started on GoT. It's been a long journey for them too.

It's going to be bittersweet whatever happens. Sad

OneInAMillionYou · 19/05/2019 12:31

Oriana thank you very much for the link. 👍🏻

I'm super nervous today as well, so invested in the outcome. I agree with Brienne above, I don't long for a happy sickly sweet ending ( say with Arya and Gendry's wedding!) but one that is true to the characters and all who have gone before them.
It's a tough ask.....
