It's here.

Eight seasons of love, hate, family, battles, history, mystery, myth and legend.

After laying waste to Kings' Landing, what next for Daenerys? Does destiny feel good when you kill thousands of innocents to reach it?

I will really miss these characters and their stories. Epic, must-watch television is rare. Will we ever see its like again?

And now our watch is ended.

Thanks for the threads, it’s been great reading.. I’m hoping to watch at 2am but I can’t sleep after and I’ve two children to get to school argghh

fancynancyclancy · 19/05/2019 15:27

I don’t believe GRM will finish the books either.

itswinetime · 19/05/2019 15:38

I hope they don't do that thing where the last scene is a corpse, and suddenly it opens a bright blue eye....

I think this would be one of the worse/most frustrating endings for me all that build up then the white walkers are taken out not mentioned again only to be brought back at the last minute please no!

I agree the books will never be finished this is the only ending we will see even if someone picks up the series for GRRM their ending will be clouded by the reaction to the show.

StarbucksSmarterSister · 19/05/2019 15:48

Leontine I don't know but I've been thinking the same thing about Brienne. Although it would leave us to choose the end of her story for ourselves.

She's one of my favourites, along with Davos.

GhostIsAGoodBoi · 19/05/2019 15:51

If Tyrion doesn’t get roasted by Dany, I’d like him and Sansa to rule. Jon never wanted it, but it seems likely he’s going to end up with it, unless Greyworm goes for him.

agirlhasnonameX · 19/05/2019 16:02

Said it before and I know it's unpopular, but I want a sad ending, Dani keeps the Throne and forces Westeros to kneel or die. Anything else would be too out of tune for me and it's such a heartbreaking and brutal story that I feel it should end the same way.

Jon on the Throne is too predictable and way too happily ever after, typical rags to riches hero stereotype, Sansa on the throne makes no sense, neither does Tyrion really, although he'd be a fantastic King. If it can't be Dani, I'm rooting for Gendry.

But I think it's more likely Jon will kill Dani (and possibly it will set his sword on fire when he does) and feel he has to rule.

I hope someone will at least mention breaking the wheel again.

BeyondOverTheMoon · 19/05/2019 16:09

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!

Leontine · 19/05/2019 16:13

Given the fact that ADWD was published in 2011 and we still don’t have Winds, I can’t ever see the book series fully finished. Winds and Dream are both supposed to be 1500 pages, but a good 10-15% of Winds will be made up of chapters that didn’t fit into Dance. I think that includes all of the sample chapters.

I really wish I had had the experience of reading the books before the show, then having all the hype and excitement of ADWD being released after the first season.

It would have been so great to have TWOW released whilst the show was still airing, even if the show had already eclipsed it.

I think GRRM is in his 70s now isn’t he? He doesn’t seem to be in the best of health either - although that’s pure speculation on my part.

cerseiswinegoblet · 19/05/2019 16:13

There MUST be a role for Bran in the ending, otherwise what was all the journeying to become the three eyed raven and the warging about? Maybe he will warg into Drogon amd flame Dany.

I am really looking forward to the finale, I know it might not be all we hope for, but it will be brilliant to see how it finishes. I hope it's not a Hollywood ending too @agirlhasnonameX.

Leontine · 19/05/2019 16:22

@Starbucks My hope for Brienne is that she gets to lead the King’s Guard or similar. Perhaps even start her own order of female knights, that would be fantastic!

I really do not want ‘oathbaby’ to happen.

JorahsMistress · 19/05/2019 16:23

Julian Glover (maester pycelle) said today that he wants tyrion on the throne cos jon snows a bit of a bore Shock

Figgygal · 19/05/2019 16:23

I can't wait
Working from home so I can send the husband and kids out and watching it before I start work

I did read a story online the other day that said productivity levels on Monday would be impacted by this lol mine will be

Giggorata · 19/05/2019 16:25

Jon killing Dany would be a dangerous move because there are a million or so fanatically pro Dragon Queen Unsullied left in KL, plus a sprinkling of Dothraki. They wouldn’t take kindly to it. Grey Worm has already been giving Jon funny looks...
I am assuming that Drogon might not flame Jon, as he has the Targ blood, gets to have a ride, etc, etc.
By far the safest option would be for Bran to do it via warging into Drogon. I'm not certain she could be flamed, though. So it might be the crash, or clawing or something. But that way, the Unsullied wouldn’t know it was the Westerosi behind it.

Leontine · 19/05/2019 16:25

@figgygal will you be watching it live?

Leontine · 19/05/2019 16:27

@giggorata Dany is fire resistant.

SweetSummerchild · 19/05/2019 16:33

The Dothraki show loyalty to the ‘strongest’, though, so wouldn’t give a sh*t if Dany was killed by someone. Look how quickly they’ abandoned Khal Drogo. I think they’d just follow someone else or go entirely rogue.

The Unsullied are a different matter. They are trained to just follow the orders of whoever has paid for their services. I don’t know where the show would go with their mindset at this point.

I think Brienne will remain loyal to Sansa. I imagine she will be in tomorrow’s episode as Sansa’s guard at some point. Whether there is a ‘satisfactory’ conclusion to her story is another matter.

Bronn getting Highgarden is still something I don’t particularly want to see as I can’t stand the character.

agirlhasnonameX · 19/05/2019 16:35

By far the safest option would be for Bran to do it via warging into Drogon. I'm not certain she could be flamed, though.
Doubtful this would be a safe option for Bran though. Dragons are extremely intelligent, much different from warging into a crow or a wolf (or Hodor R.I.P), so if he does do this it's probable it would leave him in a vegetated state, or trapped inside Drogon permanently.

I hope he does something, anything and if it is this, I think it will be so Dani can't use Drogon, or to use him against her army.

sweetheartyparty · 19/05/2019 16:41

I don't think we'll get a king or queen now as before. I think there will be a round table like King Arthur where Knights will all have equal status. A bit dull but I can see it as a possibility

itswinetime · 19/05/2019 17:09

The Unsullied are a different matter. They are trained to just follow the orders of whoever has paid for their services. I don’t know where the show would go with their mindset at this point.

I see two options for the unsullied and it all depends on greyworm I think.

He will either start to see Danny as the person she has become the same as the original masters that enslaved them and once Jon (I'm 95% sure it will be him kills her) will take over command of the unsullied and take them back to slavers bay to keep it free or where was Missandei from wasn't she talking about how it had no protection? That would be a good ending for them.

Alternatively He stays in fog of grief and blindness to Danny's flaws to In which case They go in a rampage when she dies and I think Drogon might have to be the key to taking them out, although I'm not a big fan or Drogon switching alliances from danny to Jon who else could take out that army? Or it's always an option Danny doesn't die and they stay helping her keep power possibly being used to help her continue to conquer other lands. But I think it's unlikely she lives after last week.

Agree I would love brienne to end up head of the kings/queens guard.

For me I want Danny dead taken out by Jon to be honest if Jon, Danny and Drogon could go in one tragically sad incident that would be great!

I would like to Arya take a step towards becoming a person again not just an assassin. Although if she wants to take Drogon down first I'm ok with that.

I want a big moment for Tyrion don't mind what just big and fitting.

Ideally I'd still like it to end in a democracy I know I probably won't with Sansa, Davos, Sam, Tormund (I know he want but I want him to) maybe gendry And tyrion if he lives forming a council/government. I don't think that will be what happens I don't really care who ends up on the throne. If I had a vote it would be ghost! Give him an ending he deserves Wink

Brann 😴😴😴 can become a tree or whatever.

Bronn I'd like his storyline to have meaning this season but I can't see how it can do he can just stay away!

I doubt that's what will happen it's probably to close to a happy ending for thrones but that's what I'd like!

fancynancyclancy · 19/05/2019 17:26

I think Bronn may kill or attempt to kill Tyrion, as I don’t understand why he popped up.

SweetSummerchild · 19/05/2019 17:30

Yes, I can see the Unsullied going to Naath to protect its residents. They never did the whole ‘toxic butterflies’ that kill all non-residents in the show, so I guess they could live there....

I think Jon has to kill Dany and then live with it as penance for using his ‘honour’ as an excuse to avoid making difficult but sensible decisions. He would be a disastrous ruler though.

I’d love it if there was more to Bran’s story ie if we could find out why he was so determined to see Dany undermined. Maybe he saw a vision of what would happen in future if she took the throne with Jon beside and it actually would have ended far worse than what actually happened.

I suppose I’m just hanging onto some vain hope that Bran has some purpose other than to just repeat lines from seasons 1-3.

itswinetime · 19/05/2019 17:45

I think Bronn may kill or attempt to kill Tyrion, as I don’t understand why he popped up.

I do worry that Tyrion will escape Danny's wrath maybe even get to the throne but fail to give Bronn high garden and the last scene is Tyrion on the toilet and door flies open starting it all again!

Snappedandfarted2019 · 19/05/2019 17:47

What is dead may never die

AliceRR · 19/05/2019 17:48

I’m looming forward to the final episode bro can’t help but expect it to be disappointing

Is it a longer episode, does anyone know? As I’m not just 1h20 but maybe two hours

Seems like there’s a lot to cover

itswinetime · 19/05/2019 17:49

I'm sure I read it's 79 mins the Battle of Winterfell was the longest at 90 I think so it will be under that.
