So, now we battle for King's Landing and the Throne.

The penultimate episode of this most epic of tales. Can Cersei survive? Will Euron catch on and wonder how Tyrion could have known of the pregnancy? Will Arya and the Hound beat Jaime in the race south?

As ever, no leaks or spoilers please until we watch the episode live together. Our Watch begins....

Anyone else scream THE HEAD THE HEAD as The Hound was stabbing The Mountain?! Grin HES A ZOMBIE.

But then he wasn’t. Was howling with laughter at “just fucking die” and then sobbed when he launched himself and The Mountain.

Why was the wildfire just going pffft pfffft like a sparkler and not going Big Bada Boom?

fancynancyclancy · 13/05/2019 09:24

Love the way Cersai is like “I’m just going go”.

SweetSummerchild · 13/05/2019 09:24

I think D&D are heading for an enormous backlash about their decision to cast the entire ‘foreign savages’ as BEM and all of the Golden Company as white.

Whilst the Dothraki are dark-skinned and are depicted as GRRM has described in the books (ie not particularly nice) the Unsullied should represent the whole of Essos. There should be as many blonde haired and blue-eyed fighters as there are black.

This casting decision is going to bite D&D in the arse.

Likewise, the Golden Company should be made up of people from all over Westeros - including the dark-skinned Dornish.

friedaklein · 13/05/2019 09:25

Cersei so deserved a better, braver death. And what happened to the prophecy of the little brother killing her? annoying how D and D just seem to have dispensed with all the tropes when they want to.

WeirdCatLady · 13/05/2019 09:26

What an utter pile of dross.

Predictable, cliche, terrible.

All the spoilers were true. Was it written by a six year old??

There are no words to describe how awful I’m finding all of this Shock

Figgygal · 13/05/2019 09:28

What on earth was Dany doing!! Now for me it's all about how someone takes her out I hope tyrion and Davos survive other than that don't care how it ends really

I still think Jon will die I still think he will serve his purpose for the Lord of light and expire

HandsOffMyRights · 13/05/2019 09:31

Varys likely sent his ravens, but I'm wondering who exactly he could tell that would even be able to do anything? Who would he have written to? confused

Could he have written to The Citadel? Not that they can do anything....

BeyondOverTheMoon · 13/05/2019 09:35

I did mean to say (I'm probably gonna pop up with things I meant to post A LOT Grin ) Varys was told very early on that if he betrayed Dany she'd burn him alive...

fancynancyclancy · 13/05/2019 09:35

Did Aya get burned?

BeyondOverTheMoon · 13/05/2019 09:38

Cersei was killed by the valonquar (if sex neutral) - Dany was the little sister

itswinetime · 13/05/2019 09:44

I think Jon's only purpose now is taking Danny down. He kills her and possibly Drogon as who else is likely to do that? Then either dies in the process or runs away to the north to punish himself!

Tyrion is in trouble I think he betray Danny so she will kill him as soon as she can and even if not once she dies people are going to want to blame someone who else will be left?

Surely it has to be Sansa on the throne? If not some kind of government that's the only thing that makes sense right?

And what happened to the prophecy of the little brother killing her?

My only semi logical conclusion there is it was Tyrion that told Jamie to go that way out of the castle that ultimately led to them being trapped and dying. So in a way Tyrion's advice killed her. It's week but it helps be balance some of it!

I don't mind that Jamie went back for Cersei and they died together I just don't like what they did with Jamie and Brianne it feels like the whole thing was just fab service and served no point! Making her a knight would have been a much better ending to that storyline I think.

fancynancyclancy · 13/05/2019 09:46

Gregor looks a cross between the rotten corpse of Varys and Darth Vader

Yes!

So Cersai got a good death really considering her sins (if she’s dead that is).
Will Aya kill Dany?

friedaklein · 13/05/2019 09:48

My prediction is that Tyrion is a Targaryen: hence the dragons' affinity for him and Tywin's dislike of him. He will be on the Iron throne.

fancynancyclancy · 13/05/2019 09:50

That was stressful & I shed a tear. That’s the reality of war though isn’t it? Raping, pillaging, destruction, Minus the dragon obvs.

BeyondOverTheMoon · 13/05/2019 09:53

Also Dany did (assuming she is dead and not gonna appear dusty and alive) choke the breath out of her. Indirectly.

BeyondOverTheMoon · 13/05/2019 09:55

I did cry when Cersei first saw Jaime.

fancynancyclancy · 13/05/2019 09:56

Also excited to see the mother with child that Arya helped was the PC from LOD that Kate told to stop making a tit of herself and piss off - big couple of weeks for that actress!!! Me too!

Like the idea of Bran sending a horse.

So had Tyrion tricked Jamie & C, hence the bricked up passage?

SweetSummerchild · 13/05/2019 09:59

That’s the reality of war though isn’t it? Raping, pillaging, destruction, Minus the dragon obvs.

Yes, and that’s the entire Dothraki lifestyle. All they do is raid, rape and pillage. Their cities are built by slaves and they earn money by selling slaves from their raids. Dany attempted to stop this in A Game of Thrones, but it lasted all of half the book (if that).

They were always destined to do this in Westeros as well. I fell out of love with Dany when she set said for Westeros with the Dothraki in tow to help her ‘win her throne’.

TheQueef · 13/05/2019 09:59

Kings landing is surely gone now?
I'm still hoping for Tyrion and Sansa on the throne.
Tyrion can discover Jaime and Cersie trapped.
Arya has to go for Dani, she's Neds daughter and is sickened by the devastation to the people.
Drogon appearing over Dani to kill Varys was good.
Angry Grey worm is good but I think Dani should descend faster, go on another killing spree.
Poor Sandor I wanted him to survive and end up a peaceful sort.

BeyondOverTheMoon · 13/05/2019 10:00

Iirc bran/3ER can only see the past/warg in the present, surely that's why he didn't spoiler this episode?

BeyondOverTheMoon · 13/05/2019 10:01

Tyrion can't have bricked up the tunnels - they're how Jaime got inside!

ElenadeClermont · 13/05/2019 10:02

The ravens could have gone to Winterfell, Casterly Rock, Dorne, the Vale, Riverrun, Storm's End, Highgarden and the Citadel.

SweetSummerchild · 13/05/2019 10:05

I love the idea of Bran skinchanging into the horse to save Arya.

TheLazyDuchess · 13/05/2019 10:05

I've just seen that this episode is called "The Bells".

To think there was a time Dany locked her dragons up, rather than see them hurt even one innocent. It was clear she was unravelling mentally, but I didn't think she'd massacre small folk like that, after hearing their pleading and screams. The rest of the realm will surely band together under Jon now, to defeat her, once the bell story gets out. She's down to her Dothraki, Unsullied and one remaining dragon now.

I actually quite enjoyed that episode, I thought it was good we got see the realities of war on the people of the city, women being raped in the streets, children crying, wounded civilians everywhere etc. I wonder what the free cities will make of it. I thought the Iron Bank would come into play at some point, but it's too late for that now? How can there only be one episode left? So many unanswered questions (and the books are in such a different place, some of them might not ever be answered, as certain events might not happen in the books at all or happen completely differently).

fancynancyclancy · 13/05/2019 10:06

For those who are disappointed I can’t see how it could have gone any other way. Completely agree with SweetSummerchild that the Dothraki were always going to do that.

I did enjoy Ayra saying Sandor & softening.

I’m not sure about Jamie & B sleeping together but again I understand why he went back for Cersai.
