So, now we battle for King's Landing and the Throne.

The penultimate episode of this most epic of tales. Can Cersei survive? Will Euron catch on and wonder how Tyrion could have known of the pregnancy? Will Arya and the Hound beat Jaime in the race south?

As ever, no leaks or spoilers please until we watch the episode live together. Our Watch begins....

I think Targaryen's have slightly super human capabilities due to their Valryian heritage. In book one Dany mentions that neither her or Viserys had ever been ill, not even a sniffle. I'm pretty sure she doesn't suffer from feeling cold or hot either?

Notrusthere · 15/05/2019 18:24

Phew! Took a while to get through all the posts on here.

All caught up now.

I also wondered what the relevance of Varys taking off his rings was...poisen inside? That would fit with the idea he and kitchen maid had been trying to poisen her earlier in the episode.

I'm not sure we will see all the northerners etc next week.

I predict Sansa, Brienne, Pod and maybe Bronn and Sam will come down from the north as a result of Varys messages.

I think we have seen the last of Yara, folk from Dorne and Robin

Makes me so very very sad that I also think we won't see Tormund or Ghost again.

I think a flash forward at the end may be good, how else can we get everything resolved.

At this point I think no one will be on the Iron throne at the end.

Question though, whereby there meant to be 3 wtf moments this series?

I can think of Arya killing the night king and Dany torching kings landing but has there been another?

yumyumpoppycat · 15/05/2019 18:27

Red wedding was the other wtf I think.

itswinetime · 15/05/2019 18:27

The Varys interview is interesting I can see why the actor felt the character was underused the past few seasons he probably was. Still not sure why he thought his death was a punishment it's one of the few things I think people agree on as being in keeping with the characters 🤷🏻‍♀️.

A friend of mine said there are spoiler videos on YouTube (discussing the leaks not clips) and it auto played after she watched a review video so be carful if you want to stay spoiler free they seem to be everywhere!

itswinetime · 15/05/2019 18:31

Question though, whereby there meant to be 3 wtf moments this series?

I thought it was overall not this series so we
Had Hodor
Shireen
And ..... I don't think we have seen it yet not sure if it will be the conclusion or w revelation but I think it's still to come.

escapade1234 · 15/05/2019 18:35

I don’t know about the Varys actor. I’ve watched a few Comicon cast interview things and get a feeling he’s a bit of a diva.

Notrusthere · 15/05/2019 18:52

Ah I see overall. I thought it was just this series.

In that case I'd say it would be

Red wedding
Hodor
Burning of kings landing

Damn though I was hoping for another next week 😁

SweetSummerchild · 15/05/2019 18:54

Notrusthere no, these were things that haven’t been written into books yet but George told D&D about. Red wedding was already written into the books. They are:

Shireen
Hodor and
1 more at the end of the series (prob burning of KL and its effects)

NotMyPuppy · 15/05/2019 18:56

Am I the only one who didn’t think Hodor was much of a WTF moment?

sonjadog · 15/05/2019 18:57

I don´t think being written out one episode before the end can be seen as a punishment. All the characters couldn't have survived to the end. If so, then Sam, Gilly, The Hound, The Mountain, Cersei, Jaime and everyone else who has now gone for good must have pissed them off equally much.

I was wondering if Drogon would run out of fire too. I was wondering if he was a bit like my dog and after a short bout of running around, he´d head off for a long nap.

Leontine · 15/05/2019 19:29

I also wondered about Drogon too!

My main hope for the series finale is that we get to see Brienne again. The thought of her last ever scene being her standing outside in a housecoat crying over a man makes me so bloody angry!

IceniSky · 15/05/2019 19:29

Don't buy into those going on about them painting the female leaders as mad.

Joffery was a psychopath
Stanis burnt his own daughter alive
Robert was a drunk
Tommen was weak
Remely was weak
Rob let love cloud him
Virserys was vile
Dany's dad was mad

Cersei was only ruthless not mad.
Dany is a mixture of the above.

LaurieMarlow · 15/05/2019 19:43

I thought it was overall too, but I’d say 1) death of Ned 2) red wedding 3) dany goes mad queen.

agirlhasnonameX · 15/05/2019 19:47

I think Varys makes sense too. Punishment would have been offing him with a wight in the crypts. He's always been loyal to the realm and sees plainly what Dani has become (Although, he might have also tried to poison Joffrey and Cersei in that case) and it is the second time he's had a hand in trying to kill Dani, granted for very different reasons, but it was fitting she was his ultimatum. If I was in GoT I'd be happy to have made it this far 😂

Thank you for the heads up @itswinetime

fancynancyclancy · 15/05/2019 20:15

why does thronecast have such shit guests?

itswinetime · 15/05/2019 20:24

Am I the only one who didn’t think Hodor was much of a WTF moment?

To be honest I'm not sure either was really WTF

-Shireen was sad and obvious difficult to watch but I think the seeds had been planted for a while she would be sacrificed

-Hodor was sad and upsetting but agree I'm not sure I went WTF.

I think the third will again make us feel but I don't think it will be that important to the plot or that shocking. My money is it will follow the pattern and be a death and how it happens best bet would be on Tyrion, Arya or Sansa the rest seem to have pretty obvious conclusions happening. Or are Bran who no one cares about 😂

Notrusthere · 15/05/2019 20:37

I didn't think shireen was wtf at all, very sad and all. Agree that Ned's death was far more shocking.

DilysMoon · 15/05/2019 20:43

Neds death and the red wedding were wtf moments for me. Am looking forward to watching the whole thing again from the beginning once Monday is over..

Giggorata · 15/05/2019 20:44

I wondered about Drogon, too. So much fire.. don't dragons ever have to reload?
Soooo scary when his face appeared over Dany's shoulder from the shadows during the death sentence being passed...
I simply don't get the significance of Varys taking off his rings and putting them in the pot.. unless the are made from the Strangler poison crystals and he was leaving them for someone else to poison Dany?

PhysaliaPhysalis · 15/05/2019 20:45

19 years later... all was well

Grin
TheLastNigel · 15/05/2019 20:47

Neds death, Red wedding and Jon Snow getting offed were my wtf moments...
I can't actually understand why anyone is shocked that Dany has gone mad. I've thought it almost from the beginning...she's always seemed a bit unhinged to me. All that lengthy announcing of herself, mother of dragons, breaker of chains blah blah-the ego! And having to have everyone bend the knee all the time-there was no sense to it-she was always going to go off on one once people stopped constantly worshipping her...

itswinetime · 15/05/2019 20:49

*PhysaliaPhysalis

19 years later... all was well*

I can't go through that twice 😂😂

sonjadog · 15/05/2019 20:52

I think the Red Wedding was the only WTF moment for me.

sonjadog · 15/05/2019 20:52

Although Arya serving that pie was verging on one too.
