Great!

CaptainMyCaptain · 22/04/2019 14:08

Definately watching this thread!

whatashower · 22/04/2019 14:09

Well done that fella.

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 22/04/2019 14:09

That’s me placemarking, fella

Piggywaspushed · 22/04/2019 14:13

Just need to check with Ted that this is OK. Be right back. leaves door open

Northumberlandlass · 22/04/2019 14:15

Beeeeeeeeeeeep

I’m going to rewatch the episode from last night!

Utterly confused. Swaying between Hastings being involved and him knowing Lise is UCO (and gave order to finish off Corbett) OR he’s being framed....

ImTheCaddy · 22/04/2019 14:17

I don't WANT Ted to be involved. If he is, I think I'll feel like it was shoehorned in.

I think maybe Bill Gigalo is going to have more to do with it than seems. She's popping up all over the place.

YoureAllABunchOfBastards · 22/04/2019 14:17

Fantastic thread title

NoisyBrain · 22/04/2019 14:25

Bill Gigalo Grin Grin

DarlingNikita · 22/04/2019 14:27

From the last thread:

How did Corbett fool Mrs H with his "Belfast" accent?

He didn't –she said there were two men in the flat, him and one with a balaclava on. Ted did a double-take at that –obviously this refers back to Balaclava Man in the last series, although didn't it turn out that
there's a whole squad of Balaclava Men and the question is who's running them?

BigSexyCrimeUnit · 22/04/2019 14:29

To all those saying about the need to show trafficking as it is a main source of revenue. My point is they could have shown other forms of trafficking - such as the use of men in car washes (people have recently been prosecuted for this in my own town) and women in nail bars. Both of these need highlighting as they are a form of modern slavery, but no, we have to have sex trafficking AGAIN, and not just even as a main plot strand but just as an additional horror.

There is highlighting something and then there is using it in a way that actually desensitises people in the long run because it becomes a cliche. I also hate the throat slitting but throat slitting isn't as ubiquitous in crime dramas at the moment as women being raped and used as 'livestock'.

I think Line of Duty is an incredible drama, I just happen to think that that scene cheapened its overall quality.

Piggywaspushed · 22/04/2019 14:30

I don't think that's right. She thought they were two different men.She assumed the man outside the door was different from the one that attacked her because if John's two faked accents...

Interesting that no one ever assumed that it was Steve at the door.

TheweewitchRoz · 22/04/2019 14:30

I agree @BigSexyCrimeUnit

LutherRalph1 · 22/04/2019 14:32

Didn't she say there was a man at the door and a balaclava man in the flat, which was Corbett as we saw him put on Balaclava?

And he really is Irish?

BigSexyCrimeUnit · 22/04/2019 14:36

Thank you @TheweewitchRoz. Smile

PaddingtonBearHardStare · 22/04/2019 14:38

Did anyone else notice Corbett seemed to start calling Lise Lisa last night?

And Lise actually referred to H being a person when it's been kind of assumed it was just the only bit of Dot's dying declaration that Kate managed to get

CaptainMyCaptain · 22/04/2019 14:42

Car wash men and manicurists in nail bars wouldn't have been able to extract dna for blackmailing senior police officers which is part of the plot. It is also consistent with the abuse at the children's home in earlier series.

There is probably room for a drama about car washes and nail bars though and more people are likely to encounter these in their daily lives. I no longer use the car washes since I learned the workers were trafficked.

Northumberlandlass · 22/04/2019 14:42

Just rewatching. Early in the ep when Corbett / Lise are talking to the screen, Corbett acuses Lise of protecting ‘H’ & she says it’s the other way around.
So Lise is Hasting’s UCO?
But then he is giving an order to kill him later?
I can’t explain the money though 😔

TedsFederationRep · 22/04/2019 14:43

Reporting for duty, ma'am.

Wasn't Corbett born and brought up in NI until the age of ten and then adopted by a Liverpool couple (adoptive mother's maiden name also McGillis so possibly an aunt or cousin)? He'd be able to do both accents convincingly then, hence Roisin saying of her attacker "He's from home". In any case, the reason why the Scouse accent differs so much from surrounding Lancashire and Cheshire accents is precisely because of Liverpool's strong Irish heritage.

calpop · 22/04/2019 14:44

Why are they keeping Jackie Lavertys body frozen all these years again?

CaptainMyCaptain · 22/04/2019 14:44

Isn't Lise just short for Lisa though? Scousers do tend to shorten names and words like that. My Liverpudlian mum shortened my name in a way no one else ever has.

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 22/04/2019 14:44

Thanks for the new thread UCOinanOCG
Poor old Jackie has been in the freezer since 2012 (when series 1 was made)

TheweewitchRoz · 22/04/2019 14:52

Why is Jackie's body still being kept in the freezer?

Piggywaspushed · 22/04/2019 14:56

Just a question about timescale. It's not actually meant to be 6 years since it all kicked off, is it??

MotherofGoddess · 22/04/2019 14:56

I wonder about Tatleen. She seems to be involved in everything to do with AC-12s searches and I worry she might be turned like Maneet. She was brought in pretty quickly, hope they ran a background check!
