Thanks Sinkgirl Excellebt analysis.

CaptainMyCaptain · 22/04/2019 22:35

It was probably me that mentioned Lee Banks at the end of the other thread. I said Series 2 but should have been Episode 2.

SinkGirl · 22/04/2019 22:46

Easily done - watching different series simultaneously is messing my brain up 😂

I blame the high fever, I’m getting way too involved in this.

So my top picks for top dog right now are
Osborne
Morton
Bill Gigolo (although that would annoy me as she’s too much of a sally come lately for my liking)

Ted is up to something shifty, fella, I just don’t know what.

LindsayDentonsCat · 22/04/2019 22:54

Ted an ex-paramilitary? Was yur mouth out, fella.

tinstar · 22/04/2019 22:56

Remember that Jackie killed her accountant? What for again?

Because he worked out that she was laundering money.

Tinkoschminko · 22/04/2019 22:59

She is a Sally come lately isn’t she? It would be a bit of an anti climax but then, anything too heavily rooted in previous seasons is a bit too long ago.

MyBeloved · 22/04/2019 22:59

Mother of G-d, John's death was a shocker!

Tinkoschminko · 22/04/2019 23:01

I didn’t know Jackie Laverty was in Nottinghill! She’s just popped up on ITV.

DefinatelyAWeeGobshite · 22/04/2019 23:16

Just caught up on last night's episode. Thought Lise was undercover on episode 1 and definately think that still, just not sure how she's connected to Hastings but the final line on the chat seemed like an order from him to her.

I don't want Hastings to be H, I feel like we're being led to believe he is him but there's another twist coming up.

Gutted about John, I really liked him.

Also really missing interview scenes, can't wait until Sunday!!!

RozHuntleysIncineratedHand · 22/04/2019 23:23

I wonder who Roisins new fella is? Could he end up being relevant and we may meet him in due course? And he’s dodgy af?

bibbitybobbityyhat · 22/04/2019 23:40

Yes, Roisin's new fella will make an appearance. I also think we're going to hear again from Jimmy Lakewell and ergo Roz Huntley's husband Nick too. And what about Jane Akers husband who Kate had an affair with? He was taking bribes wasn't he? He needs another airing.

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 22/04/2019 23:42

Right I've watched all of Series 1 now & relieved to see Steve kept his fingers but shocked about Tony.
I remember Nigel Morton (Neil Morrissey) reappearing in Series 3 but then what happened to him?

beanaseireann · 22/04/2019 23:50

Place marking

MrsChollySawcutt · 23/04/2019 00:11

Nigel Morton retired on a full pension with disability benefits at the end of Season 3 - there was a shot of him mowing his lawn with his stick left lying on the patio because he doesn't really need it.

BitOfFun · 23/04/2019 00:51

I listened to one of the LoD podcasts today and was very amused to be reminded of Nigel's "I've got four words for you: Im Mew Ni Tee" GrinGrin

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 23/04/2019 00:57

Thanks MrsCholly

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 23/04/2019 00:58

Could Nigel be 'H' then?

WhoWants2Know · 23/04/2019 02:45

Nigel was bent in a slightly different way. He made his money by leaking police intel to journalists, like Dryden's speeding ticket. Dot knew he was the leak and used that as leverage to make Nigel back up his statement about the caddy.

pineapplebryanbrown · 23/04/2019 05:18

I loved that Nige had walked around with a fake limp for years.

I thought JC's London and NI accents were atrocious. Surprised Stephen Graham couldn't do better.

I wonder if they'll bring back Rita, Sue and Bob too Bob cos i think he knows who H is.

SinkGirl · 23/04/2019 05:37

Nigel crops up again in S2 and s3 and is definitely a candidate for H IMO - some of the stuff in those seasons makes him seem more intelligent / manipulative than he appears.

I was saying on the last thread that Roisin’s new man may be crucial - maybe it’s Moffat?

I think it’s essentially impossible now to come to with a satisfying reveal but would be happy to be proven wrong!

Hels20 · 23/04/2019 06:08

Just seen that Anna Maxwell Martin is joining cast for last 2 episodes - maybe to help bring Ted down?

If Ted is the head - then why is he so poor? Surely he would have siphoned money away for years - unless he invested millions in the property scam? You’re not H unless you get money - no? And he was aghast at the mention of needing to come up with £100k - which isn’t a huge sum. But if H isn’t Hastings then who? I just re watched Series 1 - Hilton was obviously bent and I think JM did a good pointing to Dot too - so all these signals could be that ted is H...which would break my heart

floribunda18 · 23/04/2019 06:23

Who is this Terry you are talking about?

HeirToTheIronThrone · 23/04/2019 06:35

@floribunda18 Terry is the young man with Down's Syndrome who the gang use to spy on people/store bodies in his freezer!

UCOinanOCG · 23/04/2019 06:41

Nige is too dim to be H. I would be very surprised and a bit disappointed if it was him. I think it needs to be someone unexpected. It had better not be Ted though!

OP posts:
SinkGirl · 23/04/2019 06:53

I’m not sure Nige is as dim as he makes out. He knew to search Dot’s car for the phone and keep copies, he knew that the numbers on Dot’s burner were dodgy (how?) and there’s that scene where he is being interviewed by AC-12 and asking for immunity... I just wouldn’t be surprised if the inept mask slips.

Also, there’s a point in S1 I think where Nige says to Steve that ambitious cops like Steve are buffeted by every wind of change, but cops like him keep flying under the radar 🤔

However, I forgot that he retired at the end of S3, so not H probably... but maybe more involved than we thought.
