Given we are only a week away from the final season, I thought we should have a shiny new thread to discuss the episodes as they are broadcast.

Anyone else going to be starting their watch at 2 am on Monday 15th?

I've watched the trailers and teasers dozens of times, and I am READY!

I have a theory that the Battle for Winterfell in Ep 3 will be lost, and they will have to move south, re assemble at Dragonstone or Kings Landing. After all, here are three episodes to fill after that!

Grin Good thing you explained that one! I can almost picture the look on his Mum's face when he tells her his teacher called him a lunkhead!

iamH · 19/04/2019 22:36

I've just seen a clip of next Monday's episode 🤦🏻‍♀️😮

PreseaCombatir · 21/04/2019 16:23

Okay, so ghost is CONFIRMED!
According to the special effects people he has a ‘fair amount’ of screen time in S8, and ‘does some pretty cool things’
Cannot wait 😍

TanselleTooTall · 21/04/2019 18:24

Did you know the Night King's sign has been explained by the producers/behind the scenes people? There's no real meaning or big reveal secret behind it. The NK has taken the symbol of The Children of The Forest and took it for his own and bastardised it. "Much like Satan did with the upside down cross".

Although I wonder if they're trying to throw the scent..?

agirlhasnonameX · 21/04/2019 21:17

Staying up again to watch Grin won't be smiling in the morning have two kids and a dog up at 6.30, I'm a glutton for punishment clearly.

QueenOfTheAndals · 21/04/2019 21:20

If I happen to wake at 2am I'll watch it, otherwise DS will be banished to his room with the iPad, laptop, Switch or whatever he wants while we watch over breakfast!

Theimpossiblegirl · 21/04/2019 21:34

I'd love to stay awake until 2am but know I won't manage it. I can't believe we have just a few episodes left.
I'm excited for the end but also starting to feel a bit sad that it's nearly over.

agirlhasnonameX · 21/04/2019 21:48

I feel the same. Want to know how it ends but at the same time don't want it to be over Sad Hopefully one of these days the next book will come out though so still have that.

Although the prequel has been confirmed too, casting already started and filming to start this year. It's about the first Long Night I think. Won't be as good as GoT but probably still pretty decent.

You sure about that...?

Loving tonight’s episode so far!

Lweji · 22/04/2019 02:45

Arya! What a cliché.

agirlhasnonameX · 22/04/2019 03:07

I loved that episode. Cried a little when Brienne got knighted. So excited for next week already.

BelfastBloke · 22/04/2019 03:09

Clichés are often true, no?

CalmConfident · 22/04/2019 03:10

Me too! So many little moments like Ser Davis, Ginny and the girl with the burns getting soup as well as the main characters. Need it to be next week now!

CalmConfident · 22/04/2019 03:10

Loving Sansa outfit today as well Grin

Lweji · 22/04/2019 03:11

At least Sir Brienne also lost her virginity. To which suitor will she lose her other virginity?
As predicted Daeneris quickly jumped to the throne issue, but dismissed the aunt-nephew thing. Will she bend the knee?
The White King wasn't seen preparing for the attack. Is he moving towards King's Landing?

Will the Baratheon line be continued?

So many questions!

EraOfTheGrey · 22/04/2019 03:16

Daenerys had a really creepy smile when she was chatting to Sansa. Daenerys could have gone two ways following her chat with Jon but she definitely picked the wrong one.

Really looking forward to next week, it'll be excellent.

EraOfTheGrey · 22/04/2019 03:18

The opening credit show the ground under the crypt being penetrated. I think something is underneath. Another dragon? Wasn't there meant to be four?

sashh · 22/04/2019 03:30

Me too! So many little moments like Ser Davis, Ginny and the girl with the burns getting soup as well as the main characters. Need it to be next week now!

No that was grayscale, the same as Shireen. In children it is a fairly mild disease but leaves them scarred.

Giggorata · 22/04/2019 05:07

Jaqen's theme music played when Arya got her weapon from Gendry.. I wonder why.

OneInAMillionYou · 22/04/2019 05:07

Well that was great, such an uplift on Ep 1

I also cried when Brienne's as knighted.

There were lots of meaningful moments for so many characters, I am convinced they will be the first to die, or not survive the battle.
Brienne, Pod, Jorah, the Hound, Bendric, Edd. Maybe Tormund? Gendry.

Not convinced about Arya and the sex. Felt a bit untrue to Arya.

'Was' knighted. Sorry about that!

No that was grayscale, the same as Shireen. In children it is a fairly mild disease but leaves them scarred.

I don't think that's right, because I think it was a huge thing that Princess Shireen didn't die of it and I think the only reason she was cured was because she was at Dragonstone on a big hoard of dragonglass. When she got it, he father was told to send her away to the grey men, but he refused as she was his daughter and a princess. Then after telling her that story, he burnt her alive...

I found this episode a bit dull compared to episode 1, but I get they are all waiting to build up to the big battle. Arya is kind of annoying me this season. I just found the whole thing a bit contrived.

I think I'm just too impatient. I will definitely re-watch this season once it's finished and will probably be able to enjoy it more the second time around without the stress of wondering what's going to happen.

Gendry looked really hot in the episode. I think they can legitimise bastards, can't they? I wonder if after the war, if Jon is on the throne, whether he will split the kingdoms and sansa will rule the north, Robin the Vale, Arya and Gendry the south? Can be arsed thinking of the rest. 😂 But, you get what I'm saying.

Ok I'm putting book knowledge into the TV forgetting it doesn't always follow.

My favorite lone from this episode, "Is the big woman still here?"

Robin2323 · 22/04/2019 08:16

Up at 6.45 to watch it.
Delightful
Where last week was a bit stilted this week flowed seamlessly.
Jamie
Sansa and danny
Theron and Santa
Jon and danny
Bran and Jamie
Arya and gandry
Podrick :)

Just so many perfect moments.
