Just so you know (and may have gathered) I’m not really worthy of the Housewives. Too impossibly glam and beautiful for me.

Unlike maireas I’ve met a lot of known (not uber famous) footballers.

I used to know a really pretty lass who dated one (sadly gone now - and far too young ) and I was the plain friend who made her shine.

With John Lugo, I think she went for money and poshness. I imagine that Rachel and Katie, her twin sister, came from a solid upper middle class background and were programmed for fortune hunting.

When she was still married to John I got the sense that she took great pride in being a rich posh wife and matriarch. Like that was how she defined herself (she quite enjoyed looking down on Ampika and Ester, who were not married, I notice).

Now that she’s single, she seems to be a bit unmoored. I don’t like her much - she’s mid table amongst the housewives for me - but I did feel quite sorry for her. I hope the new fella is better than he seems!

@lamthewombat I’m sure I read somewhere that they didn’t have a great upbringing as their mother left when they were young and their father was an alcoholic who didn’t care for them very well.

I got the impression that they and their sisters had to fend for themselves quite a bit.

I like Rachel and Katie and I think they seem very down to earth (at least Rachel was when she was first on the show).
