Seeing that we are going to be in need of a third thread... My title makes no sense, does it? I had a funny one in mind earlier but it escapes me now. Should have used hot glue gun to make it stick.

Gregggg mangled that restaurant name! I had to switch it off.

DolorestheNewt · 29/03/2019 11:12

FrenchFancy To me, undercooked cake is no worse or better than shit cake, they're both fails! Jen's unfinished garment could probably have been finished to a high standard before Leah could undo and redo her back to fit, so I think my inner perfectionist is sympathising with Jen's reluctance to work quick and dirty.
But if completing the work, even poorly, is a judging criterion, I'm sure Jen probably knew that and she should have observed it and made sure that she finished, even if she'd bodged it. I think that's the way I can get my head round it!

LoversLane · 30/03/2019 07:17

I caught up last night. Feeling a bit ‘meh’ about Jen going home but must admit she didn’t have a good week. I am still finding Leah annoying (from the start I didn’t think she would make it this far) and Juliette too predictable. She always does the same style of dress and top!

Riccardo to win all the way!

Apologies if someone has already posted.

OK folks get the wonderweb out and you can sign up for the next season of Sewing Bee 🐝 to meet the luscious Patrick but you only have 58 days to do it.

I think sewist is a better term than sewer.

LIZS · 30/03/2019 16:35

Did I spot Chinelo on Money for Nothing earlier - recycling a black leather sofa into a rather dubious leather/lace number!

Imfinehowareyou · 30/03/2019 18:49

Yes! I've seen that episode. She makes a dress for a pop star from a sofa Grin

dillite · 31/03/2019 15:36

That moment when you need to fit your progress so far to a body that is still changing as it is pregnant and isn't available for a fitting. So what do you do? You pad out the body form that you made pre-pregnancy and then you get the cat tower to give it some height. And hope for the best

My co-leader's wife is helping me at cubs on Tuesday evening as he's away. She checked that we would be home in time for 9pm - I assured her that there's absolutely no danger of us finishing late or having any tidying up to do after the meeting, woe betide any parent who comes to pick up late. (Note - we finish at 8.20 so there's plenty of allowance for over running/late parents).
I noticed that our local Hobbycraft has the cardboard Patrick strategically placed very close to the entrance to entice us all in (and then stand there staring at him whilst blocking the way!)

SchadenfreudePersonified · 31/03/2019 18:50

dillite Those pleats are superb!

You must have the patience of a saint - all that cutting and pleating and hemming - must take ages.

SoupDragon · 31/03/2019 18:55

Easy to grab and run away.

Binglebong · 31/03/2019 22:11

Wow, that skirt is amazing! I assume Victorian but not sure exactly when? I'd love to know the event it's for (if you can say without outing!).

ElGuardiandenoche · 01/04/2019 00:47

Amazing work delite.

dillite · 01/04/2019 06:50

Thank you! There are 2 more overskirts to come so it is nowhere near done.

schaden I have been told before that I have patience of a Saint. And I kinda do.

bingle you are correct. I am using 1875 gowns as my inspiration. My friend and I will be attending the Prior Attire ball in Bath so that's what it is for. I am yet to make my dress!!!!!!

Binglebong · 01/04/2019 08:14

Haha, I was thinking earlier i need to put people on this thread to Priot Attire on YouTube! I am very jealous- both of your skill (and patience!) and of attending that ball. Have a wonderful time.

Amazing work dillite

Are you on Instagram? There are some incredible accounts there run by people who make historical costumes - I particularly like @silkandbuckram (although most of her stuff is earlier than your period, she does venture into the 19thc and later). She makes shoes too!

TheSilveryPussycat · 01/04/2019 10:24

Wow dellite

Today I will be... sewing on a button.

Igottastartthinkingbee · 01/04/2019 10:43

Finally caught up, very surprised to see Leah make it through. I didn’t like her origami shirt (although it was better turned out that Jen’s) and her transformation challenge thing was hideous! LOVED Ricardo’s origami top, so delicate looking. Juliet is consistent isn’t she always seems to do the same thing for the transformation challenge!

SchadenfreudePersonified · 01/04/2019 12:54

You can sew buttons?

Binglebong · 01/04/2019 15:48

No pressure there Schadenfreude!

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 01/04/2019 18:42

Fabulous work, dillite, the Assembly Rooms will be the perfect backdrop to what will be a memorable evening.

Looks like you'll have fun, very few non-equestrian events will let you round off your evening with a gallop!

dontcallmelen · 02/04/2019 11:21

Fabulous dillite indeed must have patience of a saint & the ball sounds amazing.
Wonders if I can muscle in on Shadens smash n grab raid🤔
Proudly announcing I have graduated from the wunderweb, glue & staples school I also sewed on a button yesterday⭐️
