We have some lovely occasional posters who have lived in Korea, are Korean or have Korean partners/family members who pop in from time to time to provide the context for some of the more baffling cultural references.

We have a few frequently used acronyms:
FL/2FL = female lead/2nd female lead
ML/2ML = male lead/2nd male lead
SLS = Second Lead Syndrome (where the FL/MLis too thick to realise how much better the 2ML/2FL is)

We also abbreviate titles if they’re long, but only after using the full title & acronym together. Some of the regular favourite actors have been abbreviated too for speed/efficiency, although “him off Black” seems to have stuck for Song Seung-Heon. Don’t be afraid to ask for help/clues if we’re not making sense or have descended into acronym soup.

Watched a bit more over breakfast. I have the sense this could go either way: either everyone ends up dead or Pil-Ju, Mo-Hyeon and Bu-Cheon find redemption. Mo-Hyeon’s story has taken an interesting turn. Sadly, the more times I see Pil-Ju with his hands around someone’s neck, the more I discount him as decent husband material. 🤷‍♂️

But let’s not forget that Bu-Cheon has actually taken a life.

Cried my eyes out at the ending of The Guardians . loll . Unashamedly so. Kim Tae-Hoon seems a good actor and very much resembles his brother who was 444 in Black. Special shout out though to the young Park Solomon who played the psycho schoolboy chillingly well.

Defendant I truly liked the baddie playing a double part . He was very good at being nasty but also genuinely loving his brothers wife as he had been in a relationship with her prior to the arranged marriage.

We’re on the second coma and umpteenth attempted murder in Money Flower now. These people don’t mess around.

Beauty inside... Last ep! It really is a lovely one with great characters all round!... I loved the drunken housewarming party... And the line "he is too handsome to walk around freely!" 😂😂😂😂😂... Bravo! 👍👍👍👌🤣

I like that in Pil-Ju’s apartment in Musimwon he has so many books they’re stacked up along the wall behind his desk almost to the windowsill. I noticed it before, but wanted to comment on it. It’s quite subtle set-dressing.

I started Beauty Inside a week or so ago, but wasn’t in the right mood. Sounds perfect after this, especially the sexy shave scene. I’m about 1.5hours from the end of this one.

Oh boatyard! It's a good one! Just finished! The last ep was an epilogue episode and a half!! 👍
Fabulous supporting characters!... Really liked the FL.. and of course "too handsome to walk around freely"... The friendships were really cosy and full of warmth!
Loved how they treated eun ho! Especially berating him for smiling too much! 😂😂😂

Oh I love the drunken house-warming party too! I think we should have Lee Min-Ki down the pub he would get drunk and be giggly

I may have to rewatch as I watched when it was airing so may have missed bits.

boatyard - when on earth does Pil-Ju have time to read?

Redemption, after a fashion... Worth it IMO. Very gripping, great acting. Class in a glass. 👍

Yeah, I dunno about the reading. He does have a vampiric vibe in all those black polo necks, so perhaps he rarely sleeps. 😆

No cheery drunken parties though. 😩

Last post before I turn in, honest. I also really loved the incidental music on Money Flower - it was a sort of classical electronica crossover with some glorious cello parts. I see the OST is on Spotify (although sadly Jang Hyuk’s early noughties rap album isn’t ), so I’ll be having a listen tomorrow.

Boatyard - I like the music too! Have to say in general that the OSTs in kdrama are far more inspiring than a lot of UK drama. Although I like the music in Cold Feet.

Rabbits - have you seen Kill Me Heal Me yet? It's another, more frivolous side to Ji Sung. He plays several characters but my favourite is guyliner man .

Bea - what's next after The Beauty Inside?

Oi boatyard not long to wait before Kim Jae Wook is back About 3-4 weeks, just hoping it'll be on Viki

Bettys... I want to finish Vampire detective... And the rebel... Which I love but it's just taking aaaages to resolve... I got tired of all the twists and turns...
I'd love to watch a new drama with Ahn Jae Hyun in as I think he's really worth watching... But I can't spot anything he's got in the works! 😭

I’m now watching The Beauty Inside and it’s tickling my fancy. Not sure why I didn’t get into it before, because I’m loving it this time.
