We have some lovely occasional posters who have lived in Korea, are Korean or have Korean partners/family members who pop in from time to time to provide the context for some of the more baffling cultural references.

We are generally fans of all things Korean, so equally happy to talk about Korean cookery, film and kpop when the mood takes us. To get to grips with the lingo, try dramaloveaddicts.proboards.com/thread/24/korean-word-day?page=1

We have a few frequently used acronyms:
FL/2FL = female lead/2nd female lead
ML/2ML = male lead/2nd male lead
SLS = Second Lead Syndrome (where the FL/MLis too thick to realise how much better the 2ML/2FL is)

We also abbreviate titles if they’re long, but only after using the full title & acronym together. Some of the regular favourite actors have been abbreviated too for speed/efficiency, although “him off Black” seems to have stuck for Song Seung-Heon. Don’t be afraid to ask for help/clues if we’re not making sense or have descended into acronym soup.

Just finished The Defendant with the gorgeous to the eye Ji Sung in the lead , and also The Guardians . Both absolutely excellent . On episode 4 now of I Hear your Voice, with the real life wife of Ji Sung lucky lucky lady in the female lead role, Lee Bo-Young .
First is absolutely gripping
Second I watched in a few stages as it sometimes got hard going
Third one I am on episode 5 now

I love them . I have this huge urge, now, to go to South Korea . Apart from the programmes themselves, it looks such an interesting place and very pretty in part. My friend has been to Japan but don't appeal to me . South Korea does. Perhaps one day.

I am quite tired today and wrestling with a cold. Currently weighing up whether to go out to a noisy, crowded social gathering this evening or slip my PJs on when I get in and hunker down with a fluffy blanket in front of the TV. My logical, adult brain says go out for a couple of hours and be sociable. My inner rebellious, snot-filled teen kdrama fan says stay in.

I like planning our holidays, so I’m currently researching South Korea. I got as far as pricing up flights recently.

I want to say for Betty’s benefit that the Pil-Ju/Mo-Hyeong connection in Money Flower is building with such exquisite slowness and restraint, mainly through the medium of lingering eye contact, barely visible tenderness and so few words that when they finally connect it will be dynamite. It’s strangely compelling.

Ioved the turn around of characters and loved kim young kwans character!... And the villain was truly villainous! I was really enthralled by it... Even Dh watched it all with me! It must have been OK then!!

Rabbits - I am with you on the Ji Sung front, just so lovely his eyes speak volumes. Did you know Lee Bo Young has just had their second child? I Hear Your Voice is in my top ten favourites, the chemistry between Toasty LYS and Lee Bo Young is fab. In fact all the cast are still friends and get together for meet-ups.
I am also researching SK as a holiday, though DH wants to combine it with Japan which would be £££. And I keep finding new places I want to visit like Jeju Island & Busan. Possibly even FFS Daegu (P&P reference there)

Betty - Kang Pil-Ju has an awesome belted, black leather coat lined with black shearling in the clay pigeon shooting scene. He looks like a Bond villain, but that’s no bad thing. (Ep 18)

It’s properly powder-snowy too. Looks like a cold winter shoot.

Mwahahahaha! Pil-Ju is starting to have fun now. This was worth the wait. He has major cojones and, with the exception of the Chairman, everyone else is strategically and temperamentally outgunned. It’s like watching a bored cat play with hobbled mice.

I just popped over to the clay pigeon shoot. Pil-Ju can do everything better than t'other guy. I prefer the other shearling coat this one is too Bond in the style of Roger Moore.

Hard to believe it's the same actor from You Are My Destiny

I know. He’s so much better in this - or, rather, his role is giving him space to show off his ability. He’s excellent in this. And very dashing in all the sharp tailoring, although I’m not keen on his pinstripe suits.

This is way too much fun now the dominos are falling & taking one another out, but I’m making myself go to bed. Go me!
