We have some lovely occasional posters who have lived in Korea, are Korean or have Korean partners/family members who pop in from time to time to provide the context for some of the more baffling cultural references.

We are generally fans of all things Korean, so equally happy to talk about Korean cookery, film and kpop when the mood takes us. To get to grips with the lingo, try dramaloveaddicts.proboards.com/thread/24/korean-word-day?page=1

We have a few frequently used acronyms:
FL/2FL = female lead/2nd female lead
ML/2ML = male lead/2nd male lead
SLS = Second Lead Syndrome (where the FL/MLis too thick to realise how much better the 2ML/2FL is)

We also abbreviate titles if they’re long, but only after using the full title & acronym together. Some of the regular favourite actors have been abbreviated too for speed/efficiency, although “him off Black” seems to have stuck for Song Seung-Heon. Don’t be afraid to ask for help/clues if we’re not making sense or have descended into acronym soup.

Yes she is, I think it’s meant to be an illustration of the fan-ed moment that was part of the questionnaire - possibly has suffered in translation but the moment when you see the light & suddenly become a fan. Though how that’s going to work with him being her inept barista I don’t know

Ha! I’ve just remembered the Director going cross-eyed swotting to pass the level up test. Made me think of you two and your recent BTS viewing habits. (I was definitely not watching clips of Siwon on Korean gameshows this afternoon, oh no...)

In other news, So Ji Sub has dropped off my top 5 oppas list. It is an odd list though, as it is made up of the Korean actors I most enjoy watching, not necessarily the most attractive. Lee Min Ki makes #3 because his performances are offbeat and darkly funny in equal measure.

Personally I’m a bit half hearted about DoTS but I guess it should be on there. Definitely add Her Private Life , He is Psychometric and maybe 30 but 17

Interesting about So Ji Sub, I’m not sure that Jo Jung Suk is in my top 5 any more after a reshuffle. I may have to spend an unnecessary amount of time thinking about this now

Jo Jung Suk has never been in the running for my oppas list. All of mine currently are 6’+ and I’m spoiled for choice with such consistent kdrama casting. 😂 Not all of them have beautiful hands though - I’ve just remembered how lovely Sub’s hands are.

I'm not sure about DofTS... I've yet to finish it and doubt I will!... Deffo deffo Psychometric! I think it's one of those rare Hat Trick KDrama things... All three of us really really like!... Along with Romance Is A Bonus Book? ❤️❤️❤️😁

I may be a lone voice but I really rate Kingdom too. I don’t think anything needs culling.

I haven’t managed to watch Kingdom yet, but mainly because zombies give me nightmares. However, I’ve limbered up with Train to Busan and that was OK, so I’ll try again.

I am struggling with Kill It to be honest, anyone else watching it?

I can’t remember what Cindy’s update said, so can’t answer that. I thought it was more that it was a real-time blog, so it made it easy for him to find her after he’d tried all the usual places.

watched the beginning of Kill It and thought it looked promising as had a bit of Healer Thriller thing going on... however not got back into yet...

have been watching Are You Human? on Non Boobage site.... it's really good and I'm drawn in but trying to be a little less bingey with my kdrama watching... it's leaking into real life!!!! Have to confess... did a little reading up on it as I want a "good ending"... I'm continuiung it...! it's worth a look!

Still in the middle of Wok of Love... I really like it... it's very gentle but I don't feel the need to ninge it so it's just simmering away nicely...

Will also start Confession at some point (Non Boobage site again!)... that looks really good and has Lovely Eyes Junho in.... he makes my heart flutter!

and will start Her Private Life at some point too... might wait till it's all up!

and of course Psychometric will finish next week i think!!!! Hopefully it has a "good ending"! or i shall be very very disgruntled!!!!

Dunno. I’m trying DuoLingo but quickly got suckered into paying. 🤦‍♀️ It’s a good way of learning the vowel sounds in a quick fire way, but its suddenly bounded on to whole sentences and there’s a lot of guesswork involved. 😩

I just caught up with Psychometric. It’s gone all weird, dark and bleak. No likey. I need some counter-balancing froth.

Bea - I am torn between advising immediate immersion in Her Private Life and holding fire until it’s all there. The weekly pause is tantalising, but also useful space in between for rewatching the good bits.
