We have some lovely occasional posters who have lived in Korea, are Korean or have Korean partners/family members who pop in from time to time to provide the context for some of the more baffling cultural references.

We are generally fans of all things Korean, so equally happy to talk about Korean cookery, film and kpop when the mood takes us. To get to grips with the lingo, try dramaloveaddicts.proboards.com/thread/24/korean-word-day?page=1

We have a few frequently used acronyms:
FL/2FL = female lead/2nd female lead
ML/2ML = male lead/2nd male lead
SLS = Second Lead Syndrome (where the FL/MLis too thick to realise how much better the 2ML/2FL is)

We also abbreviate titles if they’re long, but only after using the full title & acronym together. Some of the regular favourite actors have been abbreviated too for speed/efficiency, although “him off Black” seems to have stuck for Song Seung-Heon. Don’t be afraid to ask for help/clues if we’re not making sense or have descended into acronym soup.

Just finished Celebrity. It all got wrapped up in the end, but it’s weird that it ended so suddenly. Did it fail to pull in the ratings so got culled early? It had such promise.

I boatyard... Wasn't there something about the ceo running off with the money?... Didn't ML not get paid and now he's taken them to court?...

Meanwhile... Ep 12 gangnam... Flippin Nora! They are so ooooooo dragging this out! Just get together for flips sake!! I don't know how many more denials and self doubt I can cope with! It's getting really really irritating! Gah!...!!!

After so much weekend kdrama, I felt a bit overdone last night so turned off the telly at 11pm and read/listened to music before bed. It was fun.

I did quite a bit of work at the weekend and so felt quite virtuous when I watched drama. I’ve become more selective - or maybe I’ve watched all the really addictive ones. It’s quite handy following the on-air ones as it breaks viewing up naturally.

Caught up with Celebrity and I thought 10 episodes was about right for that storyline. I can’t find anything further online about the production problems, but Sung Hoon showed off his comedy chops really well in it.

Now watching Radio Romance and rather enjoying it. It has the lanky brother from The Package as 2ML. Not a binge-er so can get on with other stuff.

Bea Gangnam Beauty - yes the whole Sua thing is so frustrating & I found the attitudes towards appearance eye-opening too. The FL is a good few years older than the ML.

Meant to add that she’s older in RL, which might explain the slight lack of chemistry.

Also the 2ML in it & My Strange Hero is also in Radio Romance

There are plenty of kdramas where FL is older than the ML and the chemistry is fine, even excellent (eg Descendents of the Sun, Something in the Rain, Encounter, I hear your voice). Crap casting is the problem here, not their relative ages.

Am also liking Radio Romance - not earth-shattering but trots along nicely and had some genuinely moving moments with listeners' stories.

But isn't annoying when you find a new oppa only to look him up and discover he's doing his military service?

Evening both. I’m not posting much because I overdid the kdrama at the weekend, so am having a short pause. I reckon I’ll be back at it by tomorrow evening. I am off out to see real humans in a bit, so no opportunity this evening.

I was going to have a break to watch Fleabag 2 but I have spent the past half hour watching BTS at the Grammys on YouTube with a fatuous smile on my face. And it wasn't even subbed.

There is no hope for me.

Then they're hosting their "radio show" which I love!... To celebrate the release of the album (they've done these in the past and they're very very entertaining!... The ones where they write letters to each other to air their grievances make me hoot!😍😍

They've been nominated for top group (and top social artist) at the billboard awards 1st May!... They're bound to perform! 👍😊

There's rumours they're going to the met ball! 😱

I'm knackered keeping up with it all! Can't imagine what they feel like! 😱... Hope they're looking after themselves!
