We have some lovely occasional posters who have lived in Korea, are Korean or have Korean partners/family members who pop in from time to time to provide the context for some of the more baffling cultural references.

We are generally fans of all things Korean, so equally happy to talk about Korean cookery, film and kpop when the mood takes us. To get to grips with the lingo, try dramaloveaddicts.proboards.com/thread/24/korean-word-day?page=1

We have a few frequently used acronyms:
FL/2FL = female lead/2nd female lead
ML/2ML = male lead/2nd male lead
SLS = Second Lead Syndrome (where the FL/MLis too thick to realise how much better the 2ML/2FL is)

We also abbreviate titles if they’re long, but only after using the full title & acronym together. Some of the regular favourite actors have been abbreviated too for speed/efficiency, although “him off Black” seems to have stuck for Song Seung-Heon. Don’t be afraid to ask for help/clues if we’re not making sense or have descended into acronym soup.

I am LOVING Psychometric! The male lead is adorable, it’s funny & quirky & stuffed full of clues!
Why are there constantly pictures of masks & mysterious posters, like the painting in hyungs bedroom? The baddie always wears a mask too.

Oh thank fuck. I was watching Robot on Netflix but cast-snooping on viki (easier mobile interface). Netflix has chunked it into 1 hour episodes, so its only 16 hours not 30+ as I’d feared.

PSK does nothing for me. I don’t enjoy his performances, so I’m sanguine about this news. 🤷‍♂️

Bettys! Yes!! It is great! ML is just really funny and full of enthusiasm! I love his character.. He seems to be the only person who hasn't a clue what's going on even though he's got the ability!

The plot thickens! At least I can watch 2 eps at a time!... ❤️

I'm horrified at the seemingly okayness with the bullying and frightening sexual harassment.... 😱... I know this is drama!... We've had robots... Aliens... Psychometrics... Seeing the future but this is a bit much! 😱

I appear to have completely lost the plot and I’m yomping through Robot - already up to ep 11. 😩

Bea I keep a list on my phone, categorised as to how good I thought they were. Before Psychometric you also recommended The Rebel and Blood to me
It's a bit scary how long my list of viewed dramas is.....

Have just watched the first couple of eps of My Fellow Citizens which was alright. The engaging Choi Siwon and Hee-Na from Mr Sunshine are in it. Crime caper.

I am watching Train from Busan, borrowed copy. It’s really good but I may stop it now & watch the rest tomorrow night as zombie movies/shows before bed give me nightmares.

I too have a list, but alphabetic with a star rating if I like them. My list is also frighteningly long and probably nudging 900 hrs of viewing. I have wondered if I’d eventually become fluent at around the 10k hrs mark (like learning an instrument) but I’ve decided some simple steps like learning the hangul alphabet, some vocab and verbs will assist. I haven’t started learning the alphabet in earnest yet, but already recognise a handful of consonants and the easy vowels and it’s helping, as I spot them in signs in the background etc & can sound out easy syllables.

Here’s some variants of I love you to listen out for - let’s face it, we get a lot of practice.

Apparently they're making a sequel to Train to Busan - when you have finished watching it look up the cast list for it on IMDB. It can't possibly be right as there is just about every famous actor in it, including LYS who has just gorn orf to the military.
Unless they all just want cameos as zombies/infected for a laugh.

I have just watched Splash Splash Love which was perfect for a Sunday afternoon (Viki, 2 episodes)

Just started Radio Romance (Viki) which has the same ML and the first thing you see is a hoarding with an image of him from Splash Splash Love - neat.
