We have some lovely occasional posters who have lived in Korea, are Korean or have Korean partners/family members who pop in from time to time to provide the context for some of the more baffling cultural references.

We are generally fans of all things Korean, so equally happy to talk about Korean cookery, film and kpop when the mood takes us. To get to grips with the lingo, try dramaloveaddicts.proboards.com/thread/24/korean-word-day?page=1

We have a few frequently used acronyms:
FL/2FL = female lead/2nd female lead
ML/2ML = male lead/2nd male lead
SLS = Second Lead Syndrome (where the FL/MLis too thick to realise how much better the 2ML/2FL is)

We also abbreviate titles if they’re long, but only after using the full title & acronym together. Some of the regular favourite actors have been abbreviated too for speed/efficiency, although “him off Black” seems to have stuck for Song Seung-Heon. Don’t be afraid to ask for help/clues if we’re not making sense or have descended into acronym soup.

I’min the doldrums. I need a Because this is my forst life or Prison Playbook to get me back on track. I will try Stranger again tonight, as I was shattered last week and kept nodding off. Any other classy, grown-up stuff?

Also Descendants of the Sun is now available on Viki, which I might give a go if I ever finish starey eyed Empress Ki which is about 8 episodes too long

According to Reddit the new Ji Soo drama is based on Because It's The First Time which is on Viki and might be worth a look, although obv it may be spoilery.

On a side note... I've just recently discovered I can watch Viki through my kindle fire stick! 😂... Woo hoo!

Just watched ep 1 of The Package on viki. I am hugely encouraged. It has some risque bits, some interesting characters, the FL/ML look like they’ll be good value and some great ‘worlds collide’ opportunities (mannered, polite Koreans vs looser French culture). The FL’s utter boredom with her Groundhog Day tour guide existence is amusing too.

I’m learning lots about Paris from her tours too.

For example, the design of the Sacre Coeur is based on the Byzantine design of the Hagia Sophia in Istanbul.

Tonight... I have watched
2 eps of Psychometric... It's still super duper!... Getting all mysterious and exciting!
1 ep of Romance.. It is still lovely and endearing and very well done and Toasty! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

DS2 watched 2 hours of the new Star Trek series earlier. Zzzzzzzz. It took all my restraint not to boot him off to bed early.

Empress Ki just goes on and on and on....I am gritting my teeth and persevering because I have got this far I am on ep 49 now but by 'eck I am going to need something fluffy and modern-day after this.

Ha! Mobile phones do not work in underground car parks in Europe like they do in Korea, or at least I’m assuming France is like the UK in that regard. It’s like the chirrup of a Korean doorlock in the “Barcelona” hotel in Memories of Alhambra.

The Package has been brill so far, Betty. I’m part way through ep 3.

I’m feeling jealous, I think I will whizz through the end of Empress & skip on over to Paris.

Though I have enjoyed Grr JCW there is doom coming like a big fat storm cloud

Meh! Storm cloud schmorm cloud. This is nipping along nicely. I am very taken with ML’s black duffel jacket/powder blue sweater combo. 👌

The mishap in the museum in Mont St Michel is hilarious. 😂 😂 😂

Phew! All done with Empress Ki at last. Way too long, only really stuck with it for the two male leads who were both very watchable.

Now off to Paris! Might sneak in a wee bit before starting the day....

The Package is def providing some much needed light relief from constant battles & squinty eyed political staring. Used to work in Paris for a while so it is making me nostalgic too!

I loved the stranded gaggle of ajummas. I know they would have been a major nuisance, but they were funny.

I don't want to put put anyone off Empress Ki, it is very good and the two MLs are great. I've found myself thinking about the last few scenes today, the images have stayed with me which is always a good sign.

Crack on with The Package, please Betty - I want to compare notes.

I have so far noticed that the dorky bloke is surprisingly fit

And also surprised (given kdramas prudishness) at the dominatrix shots. Funnily enough in ep 1 you could see what he was buying, but in ep 2 it was pixelated out 😂
