Sparkly 😂😂
yy the dark shirts, was racking my brains what the flats reminded me off thank you, Ronan Point.

StarbucksSmarterSister · 03/03/2019 22:50

Encyclo thank you. Must get my eyes tested.

That was marvellous, I cried. I was convinced Fred was toast. What an amazing cast.

I remember Ronan Point, just awful Must check who, if anyone, was prosecuted.

BicycleDynamo · 03/03/2019 23:03

I'd not heard of Ronan Point but it felt as if it must be referring to a real life tragedy, that was the bit I got teary over.

StarbucksSmarterSister · 03/03/2019 23:05

Sparkly GrinGrin

Just finished watching and all I can say is wow!

Love them all. I want to watch my Morse box set now.

NaughtToThreeSadOnions · 03/03/2019 23:09

Morse buys a flat, not the whole house, I'm fairly sure he has a flat his whole life

in the books? This could well be the case as in the books lewis is a 60 year old welsh man and its a while since i read the books so you may be right

But if yout talking about the TV SERIES you clearly havent watched the TV series if you think this. In the TV series he definately has a HOUSE the his whole life. THIS HOUSE as a matter of fact. Ots seen in pretty much every episode as lewis collects him, and most memorably for me in misonic mysteries its almost burnt down as he sleeps and lewis has to break it down to door to save him.

BicycleDynamo · 03/03/2019 23:12

From a bit on a Guardian article part year... "An architect inspecting the stricken tower after the disaster found that many of the joints contained not cement but newspaper." Pretty shocking.

I wonder if there was a reason this was used as a storyline. Even though it's a little different, the photos are similar. Maybe someone on the production has specific memory of it.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 03/03/2019 23:12

No he had a flat in the books and the TV series. This flat in this converted house.

BlankTimes · 03/03/2019 23:13

What an incredible piece of drama.

PetalPearl · 03/03/2019 23:22

What a fantastic - if TENSE 😳 - finale to this series 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 We were convinced that either Fred or Bright would be killed, though am I right in thinking that Fred Thursday does make an appearance in the early episodes of Morse ? Whenever Endeavour has been in danger, you KNOW that he was never going to get killed....thank heavens for Morse 👍🏻😃

PetalPearl · 03/03/2019 23:27

I also recognised the house used in this series for the drug den, was the house where Morse went on to live 👍🏻 Love Love LOVE Morse, Lewis & Endeavor. Did anyone see the tribute to Colin Dexter in episode 1/2 of this series ? His name was on a plaque. Missed his small cameos this time.....RIP Colin Dexter

RB68 · 03/03/2019 23:35

Loved all the series but only 4 episodes to carry us to next year - torture

We recognised the house and hubby knew straight away Ronan Point he remembered it clearly

NaughtToThreeSadOnions · 04/03/2019 00:40

No he had a flat in the books and the TV series. This flat in this converted house

Ah sorry. I only thought that after i wrote my reply that we never actually see past the living room and the bed room so my mistake. And i realised it was my memory kind of fillling out that it was the whole house rather than actually based on fact that it was mentioned he had the whole house.

Still its his flat he stays in

SaturdayNext · 04/03/2019 00:53

How come Morse didn't get a promotion at the end there? He was the only one who didn't get anything except a "well done"!

No-one got promoted. Even Thursday is only acting Chief Inspector.

I wondered if this episode was also intended to refer to the Poulson scandal.

diddl · 04/03/2019 10:26

"am I right in thinking that Fred Thursday does make an appearance in the early episodes of Morse ?"

Don't think so.

Encyclo · 04/03/2019 11:48

Roger Allan was in the very first episode of Morse. Maybe that’s what you’re thinking of?

JinglingHellsBells · 04/03/2019 12:27

last night- did the 2 bad cops kill each other, or did Morse shoot one of them? I couldn't see.

Gazelda · 04/03/2019 12:48

Box shot the 'really bad baddie' and Morse shot Box.

PetalPearl · 04/03/2019 13:10

‘Roger Allam was in the first episode of Morse’ ... no, I know a few of Endeavour actors have popped up in Morse/Lewis before ..... I just have this vague memory of a storyline in Morse, being about his old boss, Thursday ? I’ll have to watch them all again 😂

SparklySneakers · 04/03/2019 13:14

I think I'll have to watch the first series of Morse again now

missclimpson · 04/03/2019 14:36

Roger Allam was in episode 1 of Season 10 of Morse "Death Is Now My Neighbour", ten years after the first ever episode "The Dead of Jericho" . McNutt was the boss that he talks about.

diddl · 04/03/2019 15:11

Roger Allam was in the one with Richard Briers, wasn't he?

NaughtToThreeSadOnions · 04/03/2019 16:07

Just a thought how good is the wroting production when we know morse, stramge and du bryn have to survive until well at least the 1990's (du bryn retires, at the end of morse strange is still alive as hes the one that tells lewis the heart breaking news and morse well we know where and when he colapses) but there was genuine fear last night when jago and his gang took du bryn and well at least my heart was in my mouth when morse was at the construction yard alone even though i knew nothing could happen because we're 18 years away from meeting him as a grumpy white haired detective inspector.

missclimpson · 04/03/2019 16:15

Yes hes was diddl - as Sir Clixby Bream. Very nasty character iirc.

missclimpson · 04/03/2019 16:16

Richard Briers that is...
