How come Morse didn't get a promotion at the end there? He was the only one who didn't get anything except a "well done"!

Don't know that everyone got a promotion. Fred seems to have got his DCI back - having been demoted to DI after Fancy's death. Strange has been brought back into the fold as has Morse.

Morse buys a flat, not the whole house, I'm fairly sure he has a flat his whole life.

Next (last?) series to start with commendations and promotions?

I need to ask, of anyone's got the box sets or has watched the old Morse lately, does he tug his left ear lobe when he has a thought? He done that twice that I've noticed this series and I think it's a thing.

Also Morse seems to have started wearing the dark coloured shirts he favoured in the 'Morse' series.
