Did anyone else get a bit excited for the trailer for that?

Also now we have Silent Witness and LoD in the Horizom I may never leave the house.

Apparently "There are no red herrings in this series, ..."

Don't want to post full quote in case people see it as a spoiler but it's in the radio Times article.

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 18/02/2019 13:03

Maybe it will turn out to be his father's head?

AvonCallingBarksdale · 18/02/2019 13:11

When Baptiste asked his wife for the computer so that he could see what the police chief had sent him, wasn’t there a photo of creepy supermarket/chainsaw guy? Wouldn’t Baptiste’s wife have seen that and recognised him?? I “enjoyed” episode 1, despite the very grim subject matter.

beanaseireann · 18/02/2019 13:45

I thought Baptiste's wife would recognise the guy from the supermarket while watching Baptiste on the computer with the files sent over from the "coffee with liquor" drinking head of police.
Baptiste was quick enough to spot the young following him and Tom Hollander.
Wasn't Tom Hollander very swift on his feet in the chase or was that a stunt man ?

JustDanceAddict · 18/02/2019 14:05

I agree Avon - I thought the wife would cotton onto that

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 18/02/2019 14:07

I thought that but think that was supposed to be a photo of Zelincu in his male form?

RedForShort · 18/02/2019 14:10

It wasn't Boiler Man was it on the computer?

Mind you I was thinking Boiler Man was Zalinku, but I'm easily mislead!!

RedForShort · 18/02/2019 14:12
  • before it was reveal Kym used to be Zalinku that it. Wasn't still thinking it!
Blondeshavemorefun · 18/02/2019 14:16

e1 recap

Assume that’s why woman is saying no as possibly still has a willy? Or hasn’t had the full op?

Still think woman in red was a man in the club

I think Baptistery guessed with no info on that bloke after a certain time and nothing before that time onnthe woman

So he guessed was the same person

I thought she was pretty with drug problem

Not a hormone one hidden behind the bathroom cabinet

NATALIE sister Christina is now held captive looking for her

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 18/02/2019 14:34

Still think woman in red was a man in the club I think they were all transgender in that club.

Blondeshavemorefun · 18/02/2019 14:41

That would make sense

Duh. Blonde 😳😳

EveSaidWhat · 18/02/2019 14:54

Wouldn't the transwoman's bf would know she was trans even if she'd had full surgery? I presumed it was more because she didn't want to reveal her real name with birth certs etc that you need to get married.

hopeishere · 18/02/2019 19:20

They said several times it was a trans club so yes all the women were trans.

The files showed pre-op Rita fan plus that's not who was following the wife. That was boiler man (I think).

Baptiste presumably spent all night sorting through the files to work it out.

I'm fairly certain he knows there's a human head in his basement.

I half watched last night and properly watched today.

Encyclo · 18/02/2019 20:00

On re-watch I’m a bit suspicious of the son-in-Law too.

LillianGish · 18/02/2019 21:53

Why was Tom Hollander so desperate to track down the girl who is not his niece that he was prepared to go to the police and alert everyone in the red light district with his posters? I wondered if perhaps he had purchased her at a phone auction of the type we were shown, but if that were the case why would he go to the police and draw attention to himself? Why is he keeping the head in his cellar? As he was eating we seemed to be shown blood on the cuff of his shirt. Who was the dead man in Deal and how was it he was able to instantly identify a Romanian accent?

HalleLouja · 18/02/2019 22:04

Argh I thought I had posted. I knew Tom Hollander was dodgy. Not sure who she’ll man is and why TH decided to get the police involved.

OP posts:
HalleLouja · 18/02/2019 22:05

Shell man. Blinking autocorrect.

OP posts:
Encyclo · 18/02/2019 23:08

I think shell man is TH’s Dad and I think the head was sent to him.

AuntieStella · 18/02/2019 23:10

Someone sends you a head, so you keep it. Not go to the police about it?

Encyclo · 18/02/2019 23:26

It could’ve been sent as a warning because he’s already been to the police about Natalie?

AvonCallingBarksdale · 19/02/2019 07:11

The files showed pre-op Rita fan plus that's not who was following the wife. That was boiler man (I think)

Aha yes I see, thank you. I think this is going to be a series where I’m going to need to concentrate a lot Grin

LillianGish · 19/02/2019 07:34

In The Missing it is always the least obvious and most peripheral character who turns out to be implicated. Is it possible that Shell Man - whose head is now in a bag - is somehow implicated? This is why he instantly recognised a Romanian accent. Maybe Tom Hollander (his son??) was in league with him/found out what he was up to. But that still doesn’t explain why he was happy to involve the police. No idea what I am talking about, but it wouldn’t be a Williams brother’s drama without a huge amount of speculating. Need to watch again now to test my theory.

Mamia15 · 19/02/2019 07:36

Tom is a dodgy 'un and I think he is being threatened/blackmailed to find Natalie - hence the panic attack and desperation and the head (sent as a warning or reminder that he needs to find her).

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 19/02/2019 08:15

I thought TH was annoyed by the flies and went to see where they were coming from? You surely wouldn't just store a severed head in a non-refrigerated room without expecting them (and the smell....). So I don't think he did know it was there (and would assume it had been placed there while he was hunting for Natalie in Amsterdam).

Agree that TH's frenzied efforts to find Natalie would suggest that he's being threatened and maybe in fear of his own life? So maybe his fear of being potentially called out was less than his fear of 'gangster' retribution.

Bowchicawowow · 19/02/2019 09:21

I have been thinking about this and I don’t think Tom will be a wrong ‘un.
