Did anyone else get a bit excited for the trailer for that?

Also now we have Silent Witness and LoD in the Horizom I may never leave the house.

I didn’t understand the yacht thing. At the time I thought Baptiste was buying it to make his family safe.

SapatSea · 25/03/2019 09:30

thanks Soupdragon, now I remember

longwayoff · 25/03/2019 09:33

I think this was edited down to make a 6 part series and there's a lot of unused footage that will make up series 2, possibly a prequel, explaining a lot if the unresolved bits from this. If anyone buys it after this poor effort. Its astonishing how much difference a good editor makes.

thaegumathteth · 25/03/2019 09:35

Glad I’m not the only one thinking wtaf.

Cleaver man scene was absurd and totally pointless and how are they all now suddenly safe?

BringMeTea · 25/03/2019 09:41

I am still annoyed this morning. Grin. The SCRIPT was appalling. Like 6th former appalling. I was willing Baptiste to stfu on the beach scene at the end. So so bad.

SoupDragon · 25/03/2019 09:43

Baptise bought the yacht in Comstantine's name so that the Evil Romanian Overlords would think he'd stolen it in the first place. He vaguely referred to it when talking to Constantine saying that they would never believe he hadn't stolen it.

longtompot · 25/03/2019 09:53

Her son shot her, in a panic. I don't imagine he meant to.

longtompot · 25/03/2019 09:54

Oops, I missed these last few messages Grin

SoupDragon · 25/03/2019 10:02

I thought he'd shot her but couldn't quite work out how. I wondered if she'd jogged his gun hand or something.

The flashback sequence at the end was almost like "this is so awful, let's just wrap it up and have the rest of the story told briefly in flashback"

SoupDragon · 25/03/2019 10:03

It was like the last episode was cut and shoved into 5 minutes.

drspouse · 25/03/2019 10:09

She'd gone to get her own gun out of her handbag and he panicked.

icanhearapindrop · 25/03/2019 11:10

I came on here to see if anyone else had the answer to where cleaver man disappeared too, and now I have so many more questions! The yacht thing I thought was that Constantine technically had the money back, but there was no way he could hand that over to his bosses. So it was down to him to figure out a way to sort it to make Baptiste and Edward safe.

tadpole39 · 25/03/2019 12:17

I’m annoyed by the handy bit of info Edward discovered in Kim’s safety deposit. She had a book with names, amounts etc but wrote the location of the trafficked girls in latitude and longitude! Why? Why not just write the address? There was so much info against the gang why obscure that? Thank goodness Edwards mother was a geography teacher!

beanaseireann · 25/03/2019 12:26

I replayed it as I couldn't make it out but because of the angle of the gun I think Martha was shot by a police sniper, not Niels.?

FoxSquadKitten · 25/03/2019 12:53

No, Niels definitely shot her, I'm guessing that's why he wasn't allowed at her funeral?

Clawdy · 25/03/2019 12:58

Yes, it was definitely Niels.

StarJumpsandaHalf · 25/03/2019 13:00

If you haven't watched it yet ....... don't bother Grin

I haven't. I was going to. Now I won't Grin Opinion sounds undivided.
I'll try and find a review which gives a precis.

SoupDragon · 25/03/2019 13:29

I think Baptiste said Niels had shot his mother when he did the "missing episode recap".

beanaseireann · 25/03/2019 14:38

Thank you for clarifying.

darksideofthemooncup · 25/03/2019 15:51

The only thing that has stuck with me is how awful Jessica Raine's undercut was. It looked dreadful when she had it in a ponytail

Starch · 25/03/2019 15:55

I thought it looked good (the undercut)

The final episode was laughable though. What a let down.

Piggywaspushed · 25/03/2019 16:26

ha! I teach year 10s scriptwriting Bring. It was nearly that bad. And they are baaaaad.

5foot5 · 25/03/2019 16:43

The Missing, series two was watchable but not exactly brilliant and the resolution felt contrived & unsatisfying.

Oh I have to disagree there. I thought Missing series two was excellent and far better than series one.

However, I am deeply disappointed with Baptiste. I thought the penultimate episode reasonably good and left me keen to see the final episode. And then the final episode was just pants Sad

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 25/03/2019 16:44

I totally disliked Jessica Raine's undercut.

The last episode was so ridiculous in so many ways.

I think The Missing (the first one) was brilliant. Rellik wasn't everyone's cup-of-tea but it was cleverly done (and I really enjoyed it). The Williams brothers have clearly become the victims of their own success and are now churning out too much to keep the quality high.

I love Baptiste's character but don't think the plot of this series served him well. It will be interesting to see whether the BBC commissions another one.

aristocat · 25/03/2019 16:49

StarJumps honestly it is watchable but there are so many problems with the characters & script that you have to forgive. Two episodes too long Smile
