Did anyone else get a bit excited for the trailer for that?

Also now we have Silent Witness and LoD in the Horizom I may never leave the house.

OP posts:

Yes, total six episodes

I was wondering about a couple of things to do with Martha

a) how did Romanian gangsters suborn her?
b) is her drinking because of her double life, or because of whatever she did that gave them a hold over her?
c) who's the DH/DP that Niels believed was his father, and what became of him?

Have I missed any bits that shed light on any of those?

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 18/03/2019 06:07

So if Martha is 'dodgy' that might explain the drinking and why she's told Julien about Niels (so he is there for him when it all goes pear-shaped and Martha potentially dies).

Or Niels has put a 'bug' on Martha's phone?

RedForShort · 18/03/2019 06:15

I'm wondering of Martha going rouge has anything to do with Niels being ill. Still unsure why we saw him refusing the prosthetic testicle.

Also all the girls locked in the room are very surplus to story aren't they. Why have we only seen them twice? (Though tell me something the men we have seen with them, do we know them? I'm not great with distinguishing faces.)

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 18/03/2019 07:12

I watched Baptiste on IPlayer (and wasn't totally paying attention). Why did Julien buy the boat?

hopeishere · 18/03/2019 07:27

He bought it in The Romanian guys name so his bosses would think he was stealing the money and escalating.

beanaseireann · 18/03/2019 09:08

I thought it odd that Niels desk was so near his mother's office at work.
Would that happen in real life ?
Wouldn't it scream nepotism ?
Or something Smile

FoxSquadKitten · 18/03/2019 09:27

and the gang knew about Stratton’s ex wife so why weren’t they staking out her house too when he went awol?
I know, as if.

Also why was that Interpol woman watching Constantine and his men on her own with no back up and her car door unlocked? Bit unrealistic, no?

LatinforTelly · 18/03/2019 10:18

Just marking place really. Have watched the first 5 episodes in the last week. I'm finding it somehow thin on plot whilst at the same time very violent and not at all credible, most of it, from the stealing of the money onwards.

I think it's Niels who will be revealed to be dodge not Martha.

The80sweregreat · 18/03/2019 10:34

I feel that Martha is a red herring, but not sure why i think this.
I am hanging on in there with this,, but only just.
what happened to the girls that ran away and the one that was dobbed in?

hopeishere · 18/03/2019 10:38

I think Niels too but that could be a double bluff and it is Martha!

ColeHawlins · 18/03/2019 11:32

The weirdest thing was how Edward crossed the channel only to find that the U.K. now looked just like mainland Europe.

aristocat · 18/03/2019 12:08

I am still also expecting Niels to be revealed as dodgy but now it's Martha! Maybe both of them?

Ep 5 was better but Miss Interpol (Jessica Raine) is just so unconvincing. Her character is missing something - shame really as I liked watching her in another TV series (The Last Post).

hopeishere · 18/03/2019 12:57

Yeah Jessica is woefully miscast. Do you think she shave her hair like that from choice (an undercut apparently makes thick hair sit better) or to make her character look edgy?

LillianandJustin · 18/03/2019 22:06

Niels is the dodgy one - remember his mysterious phone call in the service station bathroom. What will Kim’s Welshman find in the box? Also what about tulip man and the kidnapped grandson - is that all tied up now or is his dog still in danger?

Goposie · 18/03/2019 22:20

Random thoughts. Yes it got boring when it turned out to be all about money. Episode 5 was better but way too violent. If I was on the run from a violent gang I would not hide out in a caravan. The Edward character is well played. The English Interpol woman is awful. I liked how the Romanian bloke looked absolutely terrified at the end. And I think it is Nils if only because they would never reveal the real baddie at the end of episode 5!

FoxSquadKitten · 18/03/2019 23:03

is that all tied up now or is his dog still in danger?
😂

I've realised I'm far too soft - I don't like all the throat slitting and I even felt sorry for Constantine when he got pushed off the balcony 🤭

hopeishere · 19/03/2019 07:29

The Romanian bloke was absolutely gorgeous looking! Those eyes.

beanaseireann · 19/03/2019 07:44

Why were Edward and Clare discussing what was going on in the taxi from her home to the chalet
She specifically says to Edward "....... what you told me in the car......."
when asking about their situation having arrived at the chalet.
Very indiscreet considering they were hiding from very dangerous people.

RedForShort · 19/03/2019 08:44

I thougt that too beanaseireann. They were in a black cab weren't they? Unusual place to discuss the entire situation.

PaintedBottom · 19/03/2019 21:40

Not much more to add, but does anyone here watch corrie? Because the handsome Constantin looks just like Imran on corrie. Both beautiful looking fellas!

Stickladylove88 · 19/03/2019 23:40

Surely after the old man buying a car, the dentist going on a bender and Edward's disastrous mini break, there can't have been much money to left to buy a yacht!!! Wonder who gets it now..

Was all a bit predictable this week. I'm surprised the caravan's only knife didn't have "Chekhov's Gun"'engraved on the side as it was being sharpened. Edward surely should have known you don't nip out for a bevvie when you're being pursued by murderous gang members. The minute his ex said she forgave him we all knew they'd never get a chance to find that corkscrew.

And could Kim not have found a smaller storage unit for her wickle cardboard box?!

AuntieStella · 19/03/2019 23:53

Baptiste almost certainly did not buy the yacht. He just needed to persuade Constantin that he could have done, and had enough plausible back up convince Serbilu bosses of betrayal.

Serbilu seems to have at least two factions - the Kim/Dragomir side which was involved in prostitution and the trafficking of women, and the Constantin side which was drugs and money laundering. And then those who sit above all the factions, and order the murder of middle management if they appear to have stepped out of line.

Constantin bubbled by Martha (? maybe Niels). But who ordered the killing of Kim/Dragomir? I know Constantin was threatening, but he went to intimidate, not to kill.

beanaseireann · 20/03/2019 14:28

Did Constantine not kill Edwards father?
Was he not the fake meter man ?

purpleme12 · 20/03/2019 14:47

Yes

Blondeshavemorefun · 20/03/2019 15:24

Finally seen. Was working Sunday night

An exciting episode !!!

Poor CLARE and new partner tho why hide in a caravan then go out for a beer

Edward lucky to escape

Not sure Martha is the leak

Maybe her son via bugs in phone

Just seems weird why we met neils this series to find out he was Baptiste

Shame Constance dead. But who killed him
