episode 5 recap

LizzieMacQueen · 20/03/2019 15:58

A lot of blood shed for a million euros. I preferred the Missing series.

Nice to see the Wildschut bar on Roelof Hartplein though.

HalleLouja · 21/03/2019 15:50

Ok so have finally caught up. RIP Constantin. He was beautiful. I wonder what the contents of the box will have to play in what happens next.

'A lot of blood shed for a million euros. I preferred the Missing series. '

Yes the van with the money being so insecure in the first place seemed implausible, as did Edward's df meeting such a brutal end.

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 22/03/2019 09:23

The box of 'secrets' left by Kim Vogel kind of reminded me of the one Saga was given (belonging to her deceased DM) in The Bridge. I imagine she might have left Greg clues as the identity of the arch-villains, in case of her untimely demise? Clearly Constantin was only a foot-soldier?

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 22/03/2019 09:23

to the identity

Figgygal · 23/03/2019 09:02

I'm enjoying it but I'll eat my own shoes of Neils isn't bent and the big bad he's always on his phone, rushing off places and tried to get in with detective Taylor. Of course it would also create a big drama and tension between him and his newly discovered family dynamics

Could've been two episodes shorter though

Figgygal · 23/03/2019 09:02

And yes it was so obvious that when Edward popped off to the shops he would come back to something awful having happened having just had that cathartic moment with his ex wife

Poor Edward

HiHoToffee · 23/03/2019 11:02

It was obvious that something bad would happen when they found the knife sharpener...

Niels seems dodgy to me but that might be because of the Salamander series.

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 23/03/2019 11:35

I think our sleuthing skills are getting too good, here on MN (where's the Sherlock Holmes emoticon when we need it?). Niels has been centre stage throughout and yet strangely peripheral.

I think Kim Vogel's box will be a big reveal. I wonder whether Greg is going to cloud things by dispensing some justice of his own too?

Yes, a bit stupid that Edward had done a big shop so that the three of them could effectively hide from the world for a few days, but then decides to lower his guard to go off for wine. Tom Hollander has played the part brilliantly.

Bloodybridget · 24/03/2019 22:02

Well I thought the last episode was ridiculous. Am I the only one who watched it this evening?

keepondreaming · 24/03/2019 22:05

Very disappointed Shock

longtompot · 24/03/2019 22:09

Yes, I watched it this evening. What a rubbish way to end, all in flashbacks. Disappointed.

thenightsky · 24/03/2019 22:10

Watching now on catch up.

AuntieStella · 24/03/2019 22:11

It felt rushed and superficial

Especially the bit in Europol woman's flat

FoxSquadKitten · 24/03/2019 22:11

Well it was a bit of a let down. Although it did make me jump when that car crashed into Baptiste's car before they started shooting at him 😱

I'm just glad the kid and the dog were ok 😆

FoxSquadKitten · 24/03/2019 22:14

Especially the bit in Europol woman's flat
Yes that jumped a bit didn't it? I thought the axeman was still in the flat but then she said oh it's all ok now. What? Confused

LillianGish · 24/03/2019 22:20

Well that's six hours of my life I'm never going to get back (not to mention the time spent posting on here Grin) Rubbish ending. And what was the point of the scene in Jessica Raine's flat with the man with the chopper? Very disappointing. Loved both series of The Missing - this was no match.

longtompot · 24/03/2019 22:21

I was waiting for cleaver man to appear behind her when she was on the phone, or closing her patio door. What even was that scene for?

LillianGish · 24/03/2019 22:25

Loved Jessica Raine in Call the Midwife, thought she was totally miscast in this - adding to my general disappointment. Let's hope Line of Duty can do better next week.

Kedgeree · 24/03/2019 22:26

Agree about the cleaver man going into Genevieve's flat - pointless. Mind you, she could have done with a cleaver in her neck for being such a cow. Can't stand that actress, she's the same in everything she does.
All very predictable once we'd seen Niels in the petrol station first time round. Too much time wasted on peripheral characters.

Clawdy · 24/03/2019 22:26

The cleaver man scene was ridiculous. I was thinking "as if she wouldn't have had some police protection outside her flat after that gun pursuit. " And then cleaver man just vanished!

BringMeTea · 24/03/2019 22:28

Utter bolleaux.

beanaseireann · 24/03/2019 22:29

So many deaths and they never found the sister

Goposie · 24/03/2019 22:42

It was not the sum of its parts but Tom Hollander was great.
