...or will Kim Joy claim the title? Will Rahul nail it with a bake they DO have in India?

It’s anyone’s to lose.

Kim Joy is one of those people who really grow on you, isn't she? And everything she made looked so gorgeous.

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 01/11/2018 14:17

I agree, Juells.

VanillaSugary · 01/11/2018 15:06

Rahul, Kim-Joy and Ruby are doing a book signing at Waterstones Piccadilly today. Not sure what the book is, though!

ACatsNoHelpWithThat · 01/11/2018 15:09

@samcro I'm sure Rahul would have been referring to the amount of filling in all the practice donuts he would have been making before that episode. No one who knows anything about donuts would have put buttercream on them!

ACatsNoHelpWithThat · 01/11/2018 15:12

@VanillaSugary if the book is "How to restrain yourself from throwing a burnt pita bread at that smug git Hollywood's face" then I'd queue up to buy it...

Did my smileys work? 😁😁😁😁😁

Riversleep · 01/11/2018 16:01

I have Jo Wheatleys baking book. I don't know why. It must have been on special offer, as she didn't really stand out. The bakes come out really nice, but are massive!

glamorousgrandmother · 01/11/2018 16:02

I bought Nadiyah's children's recipe book for one of my grandsons. It has sweet and savoury recipes and a story to go with each one, he uses it quite a lot. My daughter has another one of her books.

HopeGarden · 01/11/2018 16:14

I’ve got a Bake Off book that I got from a library sale. I think for £1.

So one that the library had bought however long ago and didn’t want anymore.

Does that count?

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 01/11/2018 16:20

Does that count?

Yes, another copy accounted for.

Only about eleventy billion to go.
Grin

Taffeta · 01/11/2018 16:28

I used to like The Pink Whisk blog by whassername

I have one of Nadiya’s books and it was a waste of money. Not sure why I bought it Confused

I also have Leiths Baking Bible, which is excellent.....in my defence, I’ve had it many many years!

SchadenfreudePersonified · 01/11/2018 17:46

if the book is "How to restrain yourself from throwing a burnt pita bread at that smug git Hollywood's face" then I'd queue up to buy it.

You'd have to, ACat - the demand would be overwhelming!

SchadenfreudePersonified · 01/11/2018 17:50

I have Prues's Cookery Bible and Vegetarian Cookery Bible.

They languished unloved on the shelf with the other million cookery books, sneered at by the Be-Ro Cookery book and the Urban Rajah Curry Memoirs, which are the only ones that ever get used . . .

Ali1cedowntherabbithole · 01/11/2018 18:05

I have DM's battered Bero Schadenfreude!

Along with what went wrong Fred from homepride.

I obviously heart baking books from flour millers.

WereWolfcub · 01/11/2018 18:09

I have Leith’s baling bible.

I also have the evil mans pie and pud book and how to bake ( they will have been on kindle daily deals)

bookbook · 01/11/2018 18:22

I have the Prue Leith baking bible , along with many, many other cook books. I seem to have one really good recipe in each one , so I have to keep them all Grin .
One of my favourites though is John Tovey of Miller Howe - wow , the over the top 80's (?) stuff, and the pictures Shock but some of his recipes are superb for something special

bookbook · 01/11/2018 18:23

no scrub that I have Prue Leiths Cooking bible .....

VanillaSugary · 01/11/2018 18:50

I see your copy of Prue Leith and I raise you to Marguerite Patten.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 01/11/2018 19:11

I also have Delia's Complete Cookery Course, bought when we got married 39 years ago, and used about twice . . .

I used to have a Marguerite Patten (bought for us as an engagement present - can you see a trend here) and opened once at random to a recipe for mashed carrots . . . never looked at it again.

I've also got Hugh Double-Barreled's Veg Every Day, which I open frequently, but have never actually tried a recipe from . . .

VanillaSugary · 01/11/2018 19:20

Don't mention that man on Mumsnet!!

WereWolfcub · 01/11/2018 19:22

I have Huge’s veg book too Schaden. Haven’t cooked anything from it either.

I loathe Delia. I watch her when I need to have a really good shout at something

bookbook · 01/11/2018 19:25

ooh, would you believe I have a reprint of Marguerite Pattens Jams, Chutneys and Preserves - it is fab, and I use it a lot!
I got a cook book from work when I got married ( that was 42 years ago - oh err) I must still have it somewhere . I also still use my Diary Book of Home Cooking ( bought from the milkman one Christmas ) - that still has some good basic recipes :)

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 01/11/2018 19:27

I used to like something from Huw Something-Whatshisname Veg book, but forgot what.

Wash your mouth with soap, Wolfcub, I'm not having a word against Delia. She was at the People's Vote March.

bookbook · 01/11/2018 19:30

I''ll whisper this i < looks around furtively > I actually have a few of Nigellas books - in fact some of her recipes are the families favourites
