...or will Kim Joy claim the title? Will Rahul nail it with a bake they DO have in India?

It’s anyone’s to lose.

Can we make an early bid for natural coloured pastry and bread next year please? And more skilled creations we can aspire to make ourselves perhaps?

ThursdayLastWeek · 30/10/2018 21:15

Lol at Dan not meeting up with any of the others. He never did strike me as much of a team player

FuzzyCustard · 30/10/2018 21:15

Well that's it for another year...I shall miss you Cake-offers.

bookbook · 30/10/2018 21:15

no sign of a wife there ....

WereWolfcub · 30/10/2018 21:15

Schaden I love Parkin

SneakyGremlins · 30/10/2018 21:16

I'm pissed the fuck off.

What's the sewing thing?

VanillaSugary · 30/10/2018 21:16

I thought Rahul's showstopper didn't look that bad - it was more colourful than the others.

southeastdweller · 30/10/2018 21:16

What a lovely and surprising end to this series. I hope he goes far - he deserves to.

Ali1cedowntherabbithole · 30/10/2018 21:16

Tempted to fill in the application form & tell C4 I want to be s judge.

I'll will treat weird colours with as much warmth as Mary Berry shows to shop bought fondant.

abbsisspartacus · 30/10/2018 21:17

I don't think I will be watching next year I might still come and hang out with you guys though Cake

TwoDrifters · 30/10/2018 21:18

I think Noel was joking about a wife. Saying that a wife would assume shenanigans from mango stains on Rahul’s shirt collar.

PrincessScarlett · 30/10/2018 21:18

Definitely a fix. They've been building Rahul up from week 1 as the next nation's sweetheart and the fact he was kept in over Mannon when his bakes were completely inedible totally exposed the show's bias towards him.

MiracleMaxine · 30/10/2018 21:18

I've not been a fan of this series. Lots of technicals seemingly designed to set everyone up to fail. Inconsistent judging. Stupid challenges. Ridiculous week themes. I think they've lost it for me. Not sure I will bother next year.

SneakyGremlins · 30/10/2018 21:19

I'm a short man with glasses though, may get lynched Grin

SchadenfreudeUndeadified · 30/10/2018 21:19

You've never seen Sewing Bee Gremlins?

Knock yourself out!

It disappeared from our screens, but we have been promised a return next year. You would not believe how engrossing it can be to watch someone set in a sleeve.

Taffeta · 30/10/2018 21:19

I thought Noel was the star of this series

MrsReacher1 · 30/10/2018 21:19

I know that the supermarkets used to say that whatever was being baked on BOff would sell out next day. Waitrose make a feature of baking ingredients to tempt us to try our hand at whatever it is this week.

There has been nothing I have wanted to attempt this year - and I know I am not alone in this. I wonder if this has been reflected in supermarket sales. Hmmm. (I'm sure someone on MN will know the answer to this)

Taffeta · 30/10/2018 21:20

I don’t agree about the bias

They binned Manon as she baked French stuff in Danish week

MiracleMaxine · 30/10/2018 21:20

I'll will treat weird colours with as much warmth as Mary Berry shows to shop bought fondant.

StayAChild · 30/10/2018 21:20

Those showstoppers reminded me so much of the plasticine boards Reception children make at school. Confused

SchadenfreudeUndeadified · 30/10/2018 21:21

I thought Rahul's showstopper didn't look that bad - it was more colourful than the others.

So was Kim-Joy's early make-up, but she came in for a lot of criticism.

This result was dreadful - I will never trust television again (except for Sewing Bee and Professional Masterchef, obviously)

SneakyGremlins · 30/10/2018 21:21

Thanks Schaden!

MiracleMaxine · 30/10/2018 21:21

I agree with this sentiment.

Janus · 30/10/2018 21:21

I think they don’t give them enough time as it’s not possible that every week everyone’s struggling to finish. Can’t they make it realistic so they all do well.
I thought Ruby’s looked like half was missing.
Kim joy is usually so artistic but obviously didn’t have time.
Rahul’s had more umph but the colours (as with them all) were pretty awful.
Think it honestly came down to the taste.
Why would it be a fix?
Didn’t he stick to the brief??

glamorousgrandmother · 30/10/2018 21:21

I don't believe he has a wife, the way his mum was chucking him under the chin and his friends were treating him like their adopted child.

I wouldn't want to eat anything they'd made tonight. A very disappointing final.
