Right choices for me there.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 09/10/2018 21:12

Thank you Ticca

I've been hovering over the Bosh book on Amazon for a while but frightened to take the plunge.

I'll have a look at the other two as well.

Sorry to lose Jon.

Bubblysqueak · 09/10/2018 21:12

Poor Jon. I will miss him.

WipsGlitter · 09/10/2018 21:12

Ruby is very annoying.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 09/10/2018 21:14

I find Rahul a PITA.

But he was better this week as he wasn't so servile and apologetic.

The Power of the Wolf was with him.

whatashower · 09/10/2018 21:15

Well its been fun. See all you swingers back here next week 😀

Eve · 09/10/2018 21:16

Anyone notice all the floral shirts in next weeks? Homage to Jon?

bookbook · 09/10/2018 21:17

DH switched off - what is being baked next week?

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 09/10/2018 21:18

That’s a nice thought @Eve.

See you next week, whingers.

@SchadenfreudePersonified buy the Bosh book! You will not regret it!! It’s where the spiral tart recipe from tonight came from too.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 09/10/2018 21:18

Whingers' Anonymous meeting next week - same time, same place.

And what is posted on the thread, starts on the thread, people.

dynevoran · 09/10/2018 21:18

SchadenfreudePersonified I use the internet a lot but I have this book which I love www.amazon.co.uk/Vegan-Goodness-Delicious-plant-based-recipes/dp/1784880477?tag=mumsnetforum-21

This recipe I like more than I used to like normal Mac and cheese minimalistbaker.com/vegan-green-chili-mac-n-cheese/

I have a rocky relationship with vegan cheese and there is only one available in supermarkets that I like. But a few small producers make almost homemade vegan cheese on a slightly larger scale and sell at markets and for collection and some of it is unbelievably good.

Jitters22 · 09/10/2018 21:19

Bit gutted Jon has gone. Thought he’d done just enough with that last cake but obviously not.

dynevoran · 09/10/2018 21:19

Ooh yes to Bosh as well!! That's actually a better first book recommendation from Ticcinalong

HildaZelda · 09/10/2018 21:28

Aw, absolutely gutted to see Jon go Sad

Graphista · 09/10/2018 21:45

Ok saw jon go. But missed who was star baker somehow but can someone tell me?

HildaZelda · 09/10/2018 21:48

@Graphista, Kim Joy was star baker. I though it was going to be Manon, but it all went wrong for her in the showstopper.

Butterymuffin · 09/10/2018 22:11

Shame about Jon. He just had a mare this week as Dan did last.

I do think Paul in particular goes easy on Raul when he has an off moment - he really backtracked at the end in insisting Raul could still be up for star baker as his showstopper 'wasn't that bad'. Raul is very good but shouldn't be treated with kid gloves when he gets it wrong.

StripySocksAndDocs · 09/10/2018 22:53

any one get the feeling that Sandi and Noel think Paul's a bit of a dick?

Their body language after he said it was Ruby's fault and then after he said Raul's was ok because

I, controversially am glad Jon has gone. Sorry! Too moany about vegan week and acting like he was at a disadvantaged because he only usually bakes with raw meat.

LemonRedwood · 09/10/2018 22:53

This write up is very entertaining! Only just found it; I'll have to go back and read the ones for the other episodes now.

Graphista · 09/10/2018 23:34

Thanks. I'm glad Kim joy got a star baker. I think she's quite good.

Jon was struggling from the beginning I felt.

Good article lemon. What is "the pool"?

Robots1Humans0 · 09/10/2018 23:56

Not a fan of Paul. How come Dab and Jon have a nightmare and get be axe but Rahul doesn't? Kim Joy to win ! Grin

HildaZelda · 10/10/2018 00:03

In fairness Rahul had a very good signature and he came first in the technical, so I don't think he was ever in danger of leaving.

Volant · 10/10/2018 00:08

To be fair, Rahul did really well in the first two rounds, that must have been enough to save him from all but poisoning the judges.
