have been catching up with the results, poor Simone Halep , her nightmare run continues w8th a first round loss in Beijing.

Well done to Huges- Herbert on his win in Shenzhen, to Tonic for apparently saving 4 match points in his win in Chengdu.

And Herbert didn't win, Nishioka did!

That was mean. They should get rid of the towels during play altogether and just let them use them when they sit down like they used to back in the day.

Yes agree Jane - they don't need them after every point, it's ridiculous! And if it's such a towel-based "emergency", why not get it themselves?! It's gross for the kids as well.

Yes Delpo (looking lovely in his red silk jacket ) he has to get to the final to qualify for London this week. But hopefully he'll do it anyway even if he doesn't make the final.

He plays tomorrow about 9am UK time - and I've just realised it's on sky action, so I'll be able to watch, yay!

Yay thanks for that Private - I might treat myself to a bit of early morning Delpo tomorrow (channeling Magi ). Not watched any tennis since us open.

Thanks Private. I used the search on Sky last night and it didn't show up so I didn't think there was any tennis on

Beijing is on Arena at the same time.

The Sky search is rubbish I think - it never seems to find everything - very annoying.

I might have meant arena, rather than action - not sure now! But it's on Sky somewhere or other!!

Just popped over to watch final set tie break, Cilic v Struff. Cilic served for it twice

I expected Cilic to win.

Yes Delpo looking very nice and bright in red- was a bit worrying earlier on when he’s seemed to have a problem with his knee.

In the jack sock match it sounded as if someone was being murdered in the stands lots of screaming - very disconcerting. I’m getting a bit confused between Tokyo and Beijing (doesn’t take much to confuse me!).

Tsitsipas is playing someone called Daniel - he looks about 12!

Ok so he’s 25 - I’m definitely getting old!

And Delpo has just won - hopefully his knee is ok.

I've been flicking between the two as well, and also getting confused!

Not sure what's going on with Cilic. He keeps losing when I expect him to win
