I love Andy but I think he's done. Time is against him and he's a long way from form. I saw something online yesterday that suggested his operation was a hip replacement but surely not? I thought it was muscular? His ankle could be playing up because of the compensatory movement changing after the hip surgery.

Flaming I'm just trying to stay optimistic. But I am worried though, because one of his main strengths was always his movement/anticipation etc, and if he's really still hampered by his hip, then how is he going to get that back? Eg Rafa obviously has his knee issues, but he still has the killer forehand ie his main strength. That itself hasn't changed so maybe that makes it more likely he can overcome the knee issue, iyswim. But if Andy doesn't have his movement any more - or not to the same level - how will he compensate?

I don't know. It's becoming a long time out now, and as you say, time isn't on his side. But, everyone was writing Djokovic off after his elbow injury, and now look at him. I'm still keeping the faith!

Also - I thought he said the op was to do with the hip cartilage, but that he might have a hip replacement after he retires (as lots of them do)! I can't remember him saying exactly what he had done tbh.
