Anyone looking forward to watching this tonight? 9pm on BBC1.
It's a co-production with Netflix, starring Toni Collette (Muriel's Wedding , The Sixth Sense).

Apparently it's the naughtiest drama to grace the BBC! They've said they are ready for a swarm of complaints..

How old are their kids supposed to be?!

lowtide · 11/09/2018 21:52

Must be 16+
It makes me feel a bit angry actually. Go on a dating site specifically looking for others wanting the same thing as you.
Don’t just land it on them afterwards, Oi mate do you mind if you help spice up my fucking shit marriage!!

PaulHollywoodsleftbollockhair · 12/09/2018 09:30

This programme is a bit shit isn’t it?

The dialogue is clunky, the dynamic unbelievable and the sex is cringe inducing.

It doesn’t help that the husband comes across as a creepy wet sap.

PaulHollywoodsleftbollockhair · 12/09/2018 09:33

I bet it was written by a man too as it has male fantasy realm all over it.

Horsemad · 12/09/2018 09:58

It is rubbish, really stilted. Sad

PaulHollywoodsleftbollockhair · 12/09/2018 10:28

The in car singing scene was off the scale on the clench-o-metre too.

Horsemad · 12/09/2018 10:31

Oh God, yes it was!!!

SoupDragon · 12/09/2018 10:33

I thought the first one was ok
. The second one was utter tripe though.

Gromance02 · 12/09/2018 10:40

soupdragon Yes - I thought exactly the same thing. I didn't even watch more than the first half of the second episode. It was dreadful. Fuck knows how it got commissioned.

SoupDragon · 12/09/2018 10:45

The used condom scene was completely unnecessary. Just rank.

NicoAndTheNiners · 12/09/2018 10:47

I watched ep1 and wanted to punch the dh for being an irritating wuss. Couldnt watch ep2 as was too cross.

letsdolunch321 · 12/09/2018 10:47

What a load of old shit. Absolute garbage !!!

WhirlyGigWhirlyGig · 12/09/2018 10:55

I haven't watched it, wasn't really too sure what it was about but I usually record all Beeb dramas in the hope it's good trots off to delete it off the hardrive

topcat2014 · 12/09/2018 18:52

Why do they always have such nice kitchens though?

misses whole point of programme

topcat2014 · 12/09/2018 20:12

Now, I am watching on catchup - but who are these random drunk kids that pitch up - surely not the husbands students?

What is it with spending all night asleep with a head in the toilet.

It is seriously wierd

LanaorAna2 · 12/09/2018 20:16

The son's request to his unfortunate best friend were chilling. Baby, at 16 someone needs to tell you there's better out there.

lowtide · 12/09/2018 20:40

I thought that interaction was odd. I would of hope any 16 year old would tell him he’s a mysogonist cunt

PouchofDouglas · 12/09/2018 20:48

So odd. Everyone loves it. Lol at prom condom hate

troodiedoo · 12/09/2018 21:55

not watching any more but going to stick with this amusing thread.

nowifi · 13/09/2018 06:52

I thought that about the kitchen too! The whole house looked pretty nice. I'm guessing that other girl was their daughter too. It's almost so bad it's good haha.

Badtasteflump · 13/09/2018 09:02

I too loved their kitchen - is it a thing in tv land that mad couples have designer kitchens? Teaching and tossing off in sheds must pay better than I thought...
I also couldn't work out who the drunk gaggle were. Why was the second daughter not mentioned last week?

My biggest issue now, other than the general ridiculousness, is the terrible acting. Toni Collette is usually fab but maybe she's struggling to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear (channelling my granddad there). And Steven Mackintish is hard to watch- is he supposed to come across so creepy and yuk? I gagged a bit when he started flopping his used condom about 🤮

nowifi · 13/09/2018 09:12

See I think Toni Collette is awful, I saw a film with her called Miss You Already and it was terrible!

He is creepy definitely wouldn't happen irl with that other teacher lady. Yuck!

The80sweregreat · 13/09/2018 09:17

They do have lovely kitchens in these dramas - i really liked Dr Foster's kitchen and the one in the one off drama ' Apple tree yard' which was on a while back. All filmed in beautiful houses.
my kitchen/ house is small so i guess i have ' kitchen envy' and need help!
I sort of watched episode 2 , but i need to watch it again as i lost the thread of it all.

Badtasteflump · 13/09/2018 10:01

80s I think you're trying to find a thread that was never there in the first place Grin

Maybe I'm giving Toni Collette too much credit - tbh I just always think of Muriel's Wedding, which I loved...

Horsemad · 13/09/2018 10:13

Did anyone think the teacher looked a bit like Meghan Markle?
