Anyone looking forward to watching this tonight? 9pm on BBC1.
It's a co-production with Netflix, starring Toni Collette (Muriel's Wedding , The Sixth Sense).

Apparently it's the naughtiest drama to grace the BBC! They've said they are ready for a swarm of complaints..

OP posts:

Husband’s reaction to her confession was funny though. It’s ok for me but not you.,
!

The80sweregreat · 04/09/2018 22:02

Marvin has been in lots of things : none of which I can recall.

troodiedoo · 04/09/2018 22:04

yep that was about right! he was getting on my wick.

southeastdweller · 04/09/2018 22:05

Any Manchester about around? The area where she lives looks like Whalley Range but could be Withington.

The80sweregreat · 04/09/2018 22:06

Music was similar to keeping faith music! I gave up on that early on.

nowifi · 04/09/2018 22:07

I told my Mum to watch it, didn't realise it was all about sex.. haha!

southeastdweller · 04/09/2018 22:09

Marvin was in Where the Heart Is, Waterloo Road and Clocking Off.

troodiedoo · 04/09/2018 22:11

@The80sweregreat you were wise to give up on that one. pfft!

The80sweregreat · 04/09/2018 22:14

Now: is your mum broadminded?
Mine would not have been impressed and written to Mary whitehouse ( look her up if your young!)

nowifi · 04/09/2018 22:17

Yeah she is The80sweregreat luckily haha!

Going to look up Mary Whitehouse now!

The80sweregreat · 04/09/2018 22:19

She used to campaign for ‘smut’ to be taken off air, no sex scenes etc,
Long time ago now.

QueenoftheNights · 04/09/2018 22:27

Thought it was rubbish. All the hype. It can't decide if it's serious or a comedy and falls short of each.

southeastdweller · 04/09/2018 22:39

Predictable and lazy writing in the first episode but I'll give it another go next week.

troodiedoo · 04/09/2018 22:41

can't help thinking Mary Whitehouse was right....

thenightsky · 04/09/2018 22:43

I found it tedious and a bit cringey. Not bothering to watch any more.

BebeRainbow · 05/09/2018 07:25

I found it depressing! Basically they’re bored of eachother sexually. Watching their failed sex attempt at the beginning and when she got dressed up ...cringe. I guess that was the point

I’m gonna keep watching though

Coconutcake0 · 05/09/2018 09:53

Well i watched it and won’t bother again. I hated the small talk, the conversation she has with cake lady , too many quiet moments and the therapy couple at the start.

Boring!

The80sweregreat · 05/09/2018 10:45

it seemed odd and desperate to be different.

Having such a big celeb in it though must have been a real scoop for the BBC - considering that Netflix is so profound now and usually gets the big names. Shame the script is a bit clunky.
i will carry on with it though.
( i did say that about keeping faith and gave up on that, so have to see)

SeekingClosure · 05/09/2018 12:28

I liked it! It reminded me a bit of The Slap. I love their house and now I want a wooden office in the garden to toss off strange men in.

Toni Collette is mesmerising in everything and I have a soft spot for Steven Mackintosh and his sad baggy eyes Wink

nowifi · 05/09/2018 12:39

Seeking Grin Grin Grin

nowifi · 05/09/2018 12:39

he does have sad baggy eyes

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/09/2018 17:18

Watching now

I got your comment @80’s. You and are often on the same wavelength 😂😂

So it’s abour wanking and lack of sex yet she’s a sex /relationship counsellor

Tho Havnt seen it all

So I want to

topcat2014 · 05/09/2018 19:02

How do they afford the amazing houses on teacher's salaries, with the big garden offices!

topcat2014 · 05/09/2018 19:30

Plus - do swimming pools really go purple - I thought that was a myth!

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/09/2018 20:08
