Wardrobe: sort of good but those heels not ideal for when you have to dash up and down metal stairs a lot.

Sex, predictable, except that, along with the filming of the shirt swap astutely observed below, there were no shots of her nipples, no close up of her naked arse and later a shit of her wandering naked to the barhroom while he is modestly enrobed in a sheet , ad per sex scenes as nauseam. He kept his vest on and she wore a thick sensible dressing gown.

KnotsInMay · 27/08/2018 22:44

Shot of her wandering, not shit Blush

Magnussen · 27/08/2018 22:45

Not any vest tho. A turn off bulletproof one!

Putkettleonlove · 27/08/2018 22:46

Am I the only person who thinks 'Dave' looks like a young Paul Robinson off Neighbours?!!

KnotsInMay · 27/08/2018 22:47

Exactly Magnussen. And we get barely a glimpse of his muscles through it as a result.

BagelGoesWalking · 27/08/2018 22:48

It’s like a posh burger. Enjoyable, gourmet stuff that’s a slightly guilty pleasure you don’t want to be over. 😂😂😂

Spot on. Yes, we now the shagging was coming (did she?) but hey ho. Madden was also the Prince in Lily James' Cinderella.

I hope you've all set an alert to record/watch Killing Eve. It's supposed to be amazing.

Just seen e1

Thought very good. Yes obv he wouldn’t die but I didn’t wonder if they would have shot the lady when coming down from train

He obv didn’t trust the shouty woman hence wouldn’t move from Nadia. And kept asking for the ex po

Numbkinnuts · 27/08/2018 22:51

He kept his vest on and she wore a thick sensible dressing gown.

Well at least the sex is realistic 😁

OneOfTheGrundys · 27/08/2018 22:53

Hassled if I wore what Gina McKee was wearing my neck and face would look like a squeezed marshmallow. And there’d be marks on my black suit jacket.

Aspiration. You are on the money there!

wowfudge · 27/08/2018 22:54

So who's manipulating who then? Julia has been referred to as dangerous more than once.

Andthentherewere5 · 27/08/2018 23:00

Am I imagining it or was “Dave” also Mellors in Lady Chatterleys Lover?

OneOfTheGrundys · 27/08/2018 23:00

This real dressing gown vest sex with Paul Robinson talk has me larfing like a drain!
Arf!! Cheering me right up. 👍

KnotsInMay · 27/08/2018 23:02

And who is the leak? Did SlashDave tell Scarface it was him on the train?

Nooblynoo · 27/08/2018 23:03

I'm trying to like it but he (the lead actor) leaves me cold, plus the sound is typically poor.

crumbsinthecutlerydrawer · 27/08/2018 23:04

Just saw that trailer for Killing Eve and it does look gripping. Flicking through the guide on tv just noticed I’ve missed the first two eps on rte2 this evening but it’s repeated late on Saturday so set it to record if anyone else is able to catch it.

I admit I’m not following everything going on in this but it’s tense and I’m enjoying it, it has been let down by the shagging and I can’t see it not coming up that he knew the shooter.

KnotsInMay · 27/08/2018 23:05

He needs to divert Lavender to Waitrose. She never has any food in and lives on Takeaways.

OneOfTheGrundys · 27/08/2018 23:13

When she said she had no food in I thought they’d be stopping at a Spar for a jar of Dolmio and some Penne.
I don’t think he did but imo there’s a lot in that chap who was driving the ex PA around and who was at the meeting.
Yes that Killing Eve looks v good and bonkers. And Marten from The Bridge is in it who I like.

OneOfTheGrundys · 27/08/2018 23:14

Scarface as part of the leak I mean.

tribpot · 27/08/2018 23:20

The shooting had me confused.

So the bullets can't pierce the metal but clearly can the glass, hence poor old Terry getting offed and then his body getting dumped by the road. Understandable but harsh. Couldn't the sniper (esp as apparently no police officer in London could be arsed responding to this threat) not have shot out the glass and then started taking pot shots at them? Why did he drive her to the very building the sniper was in, merely because he assessed from taking a photo on his phone that the sniper must be acting alone? I feel we need the Line of Duty gang to come in and investigate the dodgy coppering, even if they would be very confused to find Keeley Hawes alive again and somehow the Home Secretary (not to mention Gina McKee).

I started watching Killing Eve but it was too gruesome for me.

Almondio · 27/08/2018 23:21

Just watched both eps, really enjoyed it.

Observations: Dave/id had no way of knowing that the first train suspect didn't have a device under his coat;
props to the teacher in the playground for holding onto her cuppa in moment of extreme panic;
bit meh at the leaping into bed together, the sexual tension if they'd resisted would've made for better story opportunities I think; she really needed to keep her head down in the car while being shot at and where the heck were backup?! They wouldn't have been held back.
Surely any security detail would have their past raked over scrupulously before being let loose on the Home Sec?

Loving it though!

HannahnotAgnes · 27/08/2018 23:29

Really enjoyed both episodes - very tense! Just wish they didn't have them shagging - seems totally unnecessary although is reminiscent of Carrie & Brody in Homeland.

Graphista · 27/08/2018 23:31

What's LoD? Ok line of duty - what's the connection to this? I've not watched line of duty yet.

Mostly enjoying so far, though I think having them sleep together is boring.

Does seem a bit too close to the original story in homeland too.

Yet again with British drama only 6 episodes!! And as we've had 2 in one week that means only 5 weeks of viewing. WHY aren't British programmes longer?

As someone from a military family, inc relatives who've gone on to work in personal security I have to say there's NO WAY someone with dx PTSD would get a job like that, just wouldn't happen.

I'm getting a tad paranoid re casting - he looks like my exh and Steve in keeping faith looks like my fwb!

Soldiers have the option to have their dna - but as it's optional his friend may not have done so, so his identification may depend on Budd's honesty or lack of.

If the writers known for twists...could she have hired his ex-army pal for a 'non-hit' hit - ie deliberately missing her, but making her look heroic while also advancing her theory that there's a real threat to national security? His pal may not know she hired him, done through a third party?

Anyone know when "killing eve" starts?

BeaLola · 27/08/2018 23:42

So they inevitably ended up shagging - just for a change I wish they hadn't done the obvious in a BBC drama.I don't want to think that's what Teresa May spent her evenings doing. Just once no sex.

BagelGoesWalking · 27/08/2018 23:43

Graphista I thought that about background checks making it fairly obvious that he had PTSD. I know some military people in another country and there's no way it would have stayed hidden. But I guess it all links to the plot so we're supposed to accept it.

I assumed that he'd driven to underneath the building as it would cut off the firing angle of the sniper. But yes, how could he be absolutely sure there was no-one else. He's a Personal Protection officer, surely the whole point is that he never leaves the side of his subject to run after attackers?
