Could Julia Montague actually be a fake identity? There's been lots of tweets about the Romeo and Juliet theme with the idea of her faking her own death and David committing suicide. It just made me wonder if her name is no coincidence.
I felt really sorry for David last night. He's a good guy who was getting no support after a traumatic experience. I wonder if he'll discover that he was played by Julia etc and go ballistic.

No new theories but I'm loving this! Big fan of Richard Madden from GOT - saw him play Romeo with Lily James as Juliet a couple of years ago- he was fantastic, a really macho Romeo ❤️

Just wondering if the whole suicide bomber thing - whether David wasn’t supposed to thwart it at all. Maybe massively implausible.

I’ll watch them all again before Sunday and annoy dh with a crazy theory 🤣

I think Budd's wife's new boyfriend/ girlfriend is going to be very significant. We never get to actually see them at all. Neither has Budd.

I think the thing with Budd borrowing his wife's set of his house keys was partly to show that his house keys are readily available in her handbag. Her new boyfriend/ girlfriend would have easy access to them.

That would explain how someone got into Budd's place undisturbed and switched out the bullets...

@Defrack - it had been said before! Jed Mercurio likes to keep you guessing and some things have huge significance while others are red herrings. I suspect the outcome won't be as outlandish as it could potentially be.

I got bored last night and stopped watching. Maybe I was wrong as it doesn't sound very boring going by what's on this thread. Why are the police still insisting the bomb was in the briefcase? It clearly wasn't. (Unless they worked that out after I stopped watching.)

Maybe it was in the briefcase in the story but the CGI is dodgy so the freeze framing people have done shows something different than was intended.

Oh hell - maybe Julia was a very dangerous woman and was prepared to get killed? I think sex with SlashDave was manipulation by her. Didn't she tell him at the college that she was going to get him replaced as her PPO and then they could have a future together, which was frankly the most ridiculous proposition ever based on a couple of shags?

I would like to know what Kim saw to make her react. She met Dave outside the room who told her Tahir was a false alarm so why did she make a run at him?

Do we know that Kim was specifically running at Tahir? Given that everyone's being searched, I'm not sure that the sight of an Asian man with a briefcase is automatically suspect.

I agree that the bomb is unlikely to have been planted in the auditorium, Dave said they'd swept it twice. My theory is that it was (a) hidden in the briefcase, e.g. if it had a false bottom layer, (b) brought in by the person who was late, or (c) on Kim. Given Tahir's death, (a) looks the most likely.

Julia's reaction to being shot at and near-strangled suggests that she wasn't that prepared to get killed.

Haven't read all the comments yet (am still on episode two as far as they're concerned, though I'm up to date with the series) but I've just had a thought. There'll be a PM on her body. What are the chances that she's pregnant with his baby?

I thought Kim was at the opposite side of the podium to where the explosion originated? When they did the play back it looked like it came from the case or just behind the stage.

Which bit sounds plausible? I have more than one theory on the go.

I thought slash Dave was flicking his eyes to the home office guy during the interview but if that was to get Nadia to pick him or avoid him I don't know.

When they replayed the CCTV footage, didn’t they say the blast didn’t originate from the case? Or did I mishear that?

@SoupDragon they did then ignored it! Clearly came from underneath The stage.

I’m so glad you heard it too! They said it and then continued to focus on the case - I was very confused!

I think Kim saw whatever detonated the bomb.
