So I watched and can't wait till the last episode because Ive finding it rather tedious now. I think this episode was where we should have been able to get some kind of idea as to what might be going on and its still all loose ends. If it was a book Id have read the last few pages by now.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 10/09/2018 06:50

This episode has completely lost the pace of the first three.
In episode one, I think I was holding my breath most of the time!

I think it is an inside job, don’t know who yet. Finale will probably be something around saving his wife and kids, as they are probably not safe in the safe house.

Yellowsunredroses · 10/09/2018 07:00

Yes curly definitely

CrazyDaisy2018 · 10/09/2018 07:16

I've been following this thread since the beginning but this is my first comment.

Haven't got the foggiest what's going on but Rob and the acting Home Sec are clearly up to something.

I'm hoping that Julia's still alive and they're just trying to flush out the culprit.

The one thing that bugged me though was this. Vicky & kids in a police manned safe house, yet she answers the door herself?!

beanaseireann · 10/09/2018 07:23

Did Dave put a key into or take a key from Vicky's handbag ? What key ?
Surely on David's phone or laptop there is compromising evidence of his contact with the lone shooter friend of his?
Did the police find his listening device ?
Is he expected to have it - I.e. Is it official police issue.

dogsdinnerlady · 10/09/2018 07:29

In the opening trailers (which go on for far too long) Julia is looking at documents which say something about cocaine use and childhood sexual abuse. What's that about? Is it something to do with the plot or just part of her work papers?

Gersemi · 10/09/2018 07:43

We saw those papers in the last episode, dogsdinner. The general view is that Julia was using them in order to pressurise the PM into resigning.

EvilRingahBitch · 10/09/2018 07:46

They were on the secret tablet she was given by the security devices.

raisedbyguineapigs · 10/09/2018 07:55

I have no idea what's going on after that episode. I hope there's more to it than an Internet 9/11 conspiracy theory thing where the government fakes terrorist attacks as an excuse to bring out legislation. I can see how difficult it must be to write something like this without it being a stereotype in one way or another.

It looked like Budd have a tiny nod to someone out of sight of the cctv after letting Tahir go forward with the briefcase

I’m sure in the previous episode, tahir walked away the direction budd was facing. In the cctv yesterday, he was shown as walking into the auditorium from a different direction - ie more tampered cctv. But could be wrong.

Pretty certain Nadia is not under eighteen. An "appropriate adult" is called for any vulnerable adult, and she is certainly vulnerable. Fred West had an "appropriate adult"! Remember the tv drama of the same name?

DanglyBangly · 10/09/2018 08:33

Best bit last night was Deepak’s face when they were interviewing slimy Rob Grin

DameSquashalot · 10/09/2018 08:34

He took the keys from her bag. That's why she went to the flat. She was shouting through the door"I know you took my keys" or something similar.

squirrelclub · 10/09/2018 09:00

Did anyone else think David was trying to manipulate Nadia into looking at particular photos of the Asian men? What is he up to?

LoisWilkerson1 · 10/09/2018 09:00

He took her set of keys to his flat so she couldn't get in and find him when he killed himself.

LadyKyliePonsonbyFarquhar · 10/09/2018 09:05

Surely the bomb couldn't have been in the room beforehand, it would have been searched.
I would like to know what Kim saw to make her react. She met Dave outside the room who told her Tahir was a false alarm so why did she make a run at him?
I think someone else, possibly Vicky's mysterious new boyfriend, took Vicky's spare keys to enter Dave's flat. They were labelled D's keys, so not too difficult to work out.

Sidge · 10/09/2018 09:19

I thought he’d taken her keys as they’d taken his to search his flat.

I think the secret service has had Julia killed to prevent her pushing through the legislation that would give the police more powers. In cahoots with the acting HS and slimy Rob, who don’t want the police to do more and to get Gina McKee off their back.

I think someone in the police has worked out that Dave knew the sniper and they were together in Helmand, and tampered with his gun to avoid any further attacks, not thinking he would use it to try and kill himself. Or to set him up so when he tried to shoot Julia he’d be exposed.

I think Vicky’s new fella is slimy Rob.

I’m really enjoying it! And David is very easy on the eye...

Defrack · 10/09/2018 09:27

But the security services are the ones who want the new legislation, the security services under Julia were going to get more powers. So the police have the motive to get rid of her. They've been spying on her all this time already.

Believeitornot · 10/09/2018 09:30

Maybe Kim was a suicide bomber and she ran to the stage to explode - but had to do it when Tahir walked on stage to frame him?

Kim sort of appeared out of nowhere in the series. She was a puzzle to me - I’m now going to have to go back and watch the previous episodes!

Aridane · 10/09/2018 09:49

I’ Confused!

LadyKyliePonsonbyFarquhar · 10/09/2018 09:49

If someone wanted to prevent Dave from using his gun, why not just take it, instead going to the trouble to swap the real bullets for blanks?
Surely the forensic team will know the origin of the blast.
So many questions 🤯

wowfudge · 10/09/2018 09:49

I think Vicky's bloke is your man who gave the Home Secretary the tablet with the sex and drugs info. I think Slash Dave will catch sight of him leaving Vicky's safe house and things will start to come together. He may have to protect Vicky and the kids in the finale.

I think Julia got the bullets in SlashDave's gun changed for blanks to protect him - she knew about his PTSD - and the usb drive is a copy of what she read on the tablet. That's her back up plan as she knew she was a target. Or maybe Vicky's bloke went to SlashDave's flat, using her keys.

Given Jed Mercurio's writing to date, I think it's going to turn out to be the police who are corrupt - Gina McKee is a baddy as is the new HS.
