Was the bomb actually in the briefcase? No one seems to have said conclusively...

Also when Nadia was being interviewed and they laid out photos of suspects; it looked like she was loooking at the photos ofTahir...

Dh paused and I rewound it multiple times on the explosion as we were both convinced the explosion came from the stage and not from the briefcase. We don’t think he would have got that close in that time. It actually looks like it comes out of the stage.

Unless... Vicky is seeing a woman. Or/and another police officer. She asked about who the other police officer was who was involved.

I thought all along that PC Kim may have had a bomb vest. She started to run (to me anyway) before anything was done with the briefcase. Think about it- if he had the briefcase and was opening it to get papers out- why would that send her running? If he detonated it, she'd not have a chance to run. Be too late.

She started running before we saw a blast.

On the other hand the SS are up to something and my guess is that they are behind it, with or without the police. The SS must have searched Dave's flat.

Putting blanks in his gun would compromise him in any future event when he had to defend himself or the HS.

I too said I think Julia may still be alive- visions of Spooks there and same scenario!

Tahir May have been in the background on telly and she may have recognised him from that?

It's all a bit too obvious that acting home sec and dodgy aide planted the bomb on Tahir.

At the beginning of the programme tonight they made a point about it not being clear that it actually was in the case, but then they didn't mention it again which makes me suspicious too.

I reckon acting home sec and dodgy aide were trying to embarrass KH and have realised how dodgy it all looks so are worried. But the real bomb planting is someone else.

Who was the woman.who came in.late to the auditorium? Was. She checked?

The PM seems noticeably absent in all this and the clandestine meeting Julia had was clearly very important and related to the info the security services had provided to her.

Is the talk of them being rivals a bit of a deflection?

Could Julia and the PM be working together to root out a plot - if she's not dead then having the PM on side would make that viable as the cover up that she survived is driven from the top.

The late woman wasn’t the sacked aide was she? (I’m bad at faces).

Kim was nowhere close enough to be the bomb. We were a bit surprised she died when he was just scratched.

Oh the writer says there is a very specific reason why the viewers were not shown what was in the case.

So it's unlikely it was "just" documents, but it doesn't mean it was a bomb either.

I really did think Jed had killed off both leads half way through the series - and actually that would have been an incredibly interesting piece of drama. Very pleased there were no further terrorist attacks this week as it was getting to feel like they were shoving one into every episode.

Some reasonably good interrogation scenes a la Line of Duty, although they need to turn up the tension a great deal to reach the heights of those.

V sad that Tahir and PC Kim have been killed (and Julia .. if she's really dead).

I wondered if it was sacked aide, or the journalist she spoke to. But she could have been just a way of ratcheting up.the tension.

My guess is that in the case were photos of Budd and KH (maybe a bit far fetched even for Jed).

Jayne I thought the same about the bomb blast. It came from the front of the stage. The experts should have been able to see that.

Did he really shoot himself? I think not. The gun was dropped.

Someone wants rid of him too.
I think he's been set up by both sides,which allowed him to live. One side changed the bullets,the other tried to top him.
No ideas who...on either side.

Some comments on the Guardian suggest that Julia Montague’s name may be deliberate, and a clue to her having faked her own death for tactical reasons.

When he ‘shot’ himself and we thought he was dead I even said to Dh ‘but I don’t think she’s dead, that would be a bit Romeo and Juliet’. I didn’t even think about the name!

There's also the usb stub in the light fitting. Did he make a copy of the stuff on the tablet (but surely you couldn't copy it?) Or has it been planted for some reason by whoever messed with the gun.
