Ooh is betterbuys eccles morrisons? I shop there now but didn't know it used to be betterbuys 😄

Apparently so Cumbrian,I haven't been to Eccles Morrisons, for many years as I don't live anywhere near Eccles now but I assume it's still.the same building that it was in the early 90,s? Apparently " Betterbuys Staff " wore the same uniform as the real Morrisons staff at the time!

What did you all think of Angie taking off without saying goodbye to Curly?

Was she being cruel to be kind? Or just a thoughtless cowbag?

I think she didn’t want to be guilt tripped into staying, she was fed up and just wanted something exciting

Yes - I think she was low after her relationship and job failures, she just wanted to get away and didn’t have the energy to deal with smitten Curly, who’d have made it all about him.

Why is Mike paying for Mark to go to a grammar school? You have to pass a test to get into one, you don't pay

I think.it's a fee paying Grammar s school, There is one next to my old school,there haven't been 11+ exams in my area for many years ,it's all a,comprehensive system but the school im thinking of us called Town,name Grammar school and it's fee paying ,I assume "Marks" is the same .

Yeah, it's a private school. Different to a state grammar school, but like PPs have said, some private schools have 'grammar' in their title. Mike is driving me mad with trying to take over Mark's education (and other aspects of his life- I don't know how Maggie puts up with him) and constantly going on about what a dump Weatherfield Comp is to people who have kids who go there

I think Alf buys it back ,then sells it to Reg at some point I remember Maud serving in the shop! Then Maybe Vikram and family remember them?

She just turned up and asked Bet for a job , Raquel,left to " Model" in London ,so they were short staffed ,she doesn't seem to have told Liz she was leaving though

I am sure Reg buys the shop, I seem to remember Maureen serving

I was a bit surprised that Mike and Alma went on holiday to Florida without Mike wanting to take Mark with them!

Surely Mike would have thought that it would have been an ideal opportunity to spend time with his son

And yes! I remember Maud serving in the shop too!

Due to circumstances I am laid up a bit and watching this week. I had tears in my eyes today at that bloody awful Vera . It's breaking my heart watching the cruel way she is treating the child's other grandmother. That poor woman lost her daughter and Vera won't even let her hold the child. Evil cow. Terrible storyline to watch.

Yes Vera is horrible she's her own worst enemy , why's Jenny talking in that "affected " way ? You just know she's out to cause Rita more misery .

Why did Tanya suddenly rock up at The Rovers offering her services? What happened to her job at The Queens?

I think Tanya turning up at the Rovers confused us all 😆,
I went out today and clock in car was saying 14:45 , I was like noooo - kettle should be on, not felt that about recent Corrie in years

Im.not sure classic Corrie really explained how or why Tanya left the Queens and turned up.at the Rovers ? Maybe they smoothed over it just to.introduce Tanya Pooley? An ex of mine was very enamoured of her

Tanya wasn’t in it for long. She had that excellent storyline with Racquel though. I remember it well. Good actress.

Current Corrie has apparently brought back Debbie Webster so I had a look. Her scenes with Kevin were great but the rest is still poor, on the whole. The actors are mostly fine but they have nothing much to work with.

I’m really going to miss Classic Corrie when we get to the last decade or so and it starts to go downhill.
