Did anyone watch this back in the spring?

I did. I loved it albeit the ending a bit incomplete- left open for series 2.

Why is it on again so soon? I see it's on BBC Wales again tonight. It doesn't say it's a repeat but surely it can't be series 2 already?

I watched this on BBC1 just s few months ago. I waited week yo week got the next instalment. The series was 8 weeks long.
Anyone know why they are repeating this so soon?

SmiledWithTheRisingSun · 26/07/2018 20:26

Is this ok in England / English at the moment?

Graphista · 26/07/2018 21:12

Watching. Wish British television makers could make more quality drama, also great to see one from a non-English uk nation. We need to see more of that and being shown uk wide too please programme makers.

More scots, Welsh and northern Irish made programmes. As well as English made.

We have not only amazing actors but also writers, directors, technicians... Invest in them!

Graphista · 26/07/2018 21:39

So...I reckon Tom possibly isn't evan's biological father, somehow it's about to come out (due to Bethan's bid for council election?) and Marion had to tell him so he didn't get told by someone else.

Possibly his dead friends father? So they were half brothers?

This blew his world apart leading to ordering paternity test, acting out of character etc?

Totally did NOT recognise Joe Miller from Broadchurch as the brother in law Shock

HouseOfMouse · 26/07/2018 21:45

I really wanted to give this a good go but the lead actress is driving me nuts. Very mannered, self-conscious, lots of “posing”. And what was all the leg-slapping about? Do people really do that?

Bugjune · 26/07/2018 22:38

I also lay myself out on my desk when I'm having a particularly shit day, doesn't everyone?

Ms Myles seems to be playing Faith as some kind of sensuous goddess next door type. It doesn't work.

Timefortea99 · 26/07/2018 22:47

Strangely watchable. Someone upthread used the phrase over eggs the pudding, which is exactly the same phrase as I used tonight when my DH asked me what I was watching. I think we are meant to think she is awesome. She might well be, but all that shoe kicking, leg flashing, hair tossing, moody staring is just making me laugh. Is it true there is 8 eps? Not sure I will last the distance.

Never watched Hinterland or Torchwood but did watch Stella. A few cross over actors from that show in this.

Graphista · 26/07/2018 23:01

Hinterland on Netflix I think. Is it a procedural (different crime/criminal each week) or longer story arc (like this, Broadchurch, unforgotten)?

HouseOfMouse · 26/07/2018 23:06

Glad it’s not just me!

I’ve been a solicitor for 20 years and I can’t say I’ve ever felt the need to writhe about “seductively” on one of the board room tables. Maybe I should give it a go.

KERALA1 · 26/07/2018 23:46

Still can't get over how she can be arsed to wear obviously uncomfortable heels. You would have flat shoes to change into surely?

House lots of shagging and affairs in the 3 firms I've worked in sadly not involved personally Grin

SmiledWithTheRisingSun · 27/07/2018 08:00

WHAT CHANNEL IS IT ON???

EmmaC78 · 27/07/2018 08:09

SMILED - BBC1

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 27/07/2018 13:34

I'm enjoying it but sometimes I feel I'm watching a grown up version of fireman sam, "hi Vicar"....

Timeforachange68 · 27/07/2018 14:22

Episode 3 when Faith dropped the children off to go & stop the vicar from jumping, was that the same day she went to speak to Marion when she was all dressed up? I thought she'd gone back for the kids but they were nowhere to be seen and the older couple were heading out!

mrspapalazarou · 27/07/2018 20:30

I'm hooked on this but omg the shoes - even in the police cell!

AppleYumYum · 28/07/2018 17:29

Time yes I was thinking the same thing, she ditched the kids there then the next thing they had disappeared and inlaws were black tie ready!?

Blondeshavemorefun · 28/07/2018 21:19

Oh so his dad isn’t Tom. Think tom knows that?

The heels are annoying me. Impractical to drive. Why doesn’t she wear flats aa keeps taking them off anywhere

I didn’t recognise bio either from broadchurch

I’m enjoying this

What was the thing she was given at end and hides under plant pit?

AppleYumYum · 28/07/2018 22:19

It was a bullet in an envelope that said keep quiet.

What is really annoying me is that amount of stuff she withholds from anyone trying to help her. Why not tell the police about the wig and fake driving licence, the taxi driver's tip off, then the tie she found at that restaurant, that her daughters had witnessed the strange phone calls. Now she hides the bullet in a pot plant. I'm assuming she put it in a plastic bag to preserve the DNA but after handling it...

HannahnotAgnes · 28/07/2018 23:02

Agreed Apple makes no sense Confused

SinisterBumFacedCat · 29/07/2018 00:37

I think she's still protecting her husband by not telling the police, also she doesn't trust that police woman for some reason. I don't really understand why his parents are still doing charity functions days after he disappeared. I'm enjoying it though, although her fidgeting and writhing around on desks is doing my head in.
