Did anyone watch this back in the spring?

I did. I loved it albeit the ending a bit incomplete- left open for series 2.

Why is it on again so soon? I see it's on BBC Wales again tonight. It doesn't say it's a repeat but surely it can't be series 2 already?

I watched this on BBC1 just s few months ago. I waited week yo week got the next instalment. The series was 8 weeks long.
Anyone know why they are repeating this so soon?

The actress learnt welsh for the part, and it was originally made in Welsh, then re-made in english

TeenTimesTwo · 13/07/2018 19:30

Oh that's interesting. When I heard about it I assumed
a) that the actors were bi-lingual
b) that they shot the scenes twice back to back, once in each language.

Gwenhwyfar · 13/07/2018 19:35

" I do think it's a bit over acted - all the lying on the floor and shaking her hair around is a bit much."

I pointed out on FB that there were too many scenes of Faith looking sexy. A male acquaintance replied that he liked them and complained about the scenes of the male detective brooding in Hinterland. Fair point I think.

This is true EXCEPT for one actress who is different in the English and Welsh versions - the secretary in the law firm. I presume the Welsh speaking one didn't want to do the English one. Suzanne Packer who plays the character in the English version doesn't speak Welsh afaik.

It was mostly Laugharne and Carmarthen last night.

beanaseireann · 14/07/2018 07:01

I'm watching it.
It seems good.
Some questions I need to be answered :
Was she drinking water, vodka or gin in the file section of the office ?
Who was at the window ? - that must have been terrifying for the elder daughter.
Was her husband's car at the place the taxi man said he saw it or was it a ruse to get her out of her house ?

The80sweregreat · 14/07/2018 08:30

He ( evan) was at the pub as she saw his tie there.

Bibesia · 14/07/2018 12:55

Wasn't it the husband who the daughter saw at the window?

beanaseireann · 14/07/2018 13:13

I didn't think so-he had a beard I thought. I checked to see was it the taxi driver but it wasn't

thricethebrindledcat · 14/07/2018 13:29

I really liked the ex-client boyfriend with the dodgy past Blush

Watched it on catch up and whizzed through all the humming stuff, it didn't do anything for me.

DH in the series is Faith's DH IRL so he will probably be around for the next series, but hopefully he is in prison/abroad/in hiding for most of the time Grin

HouseOfMouse · 15/07/2018 00:49

I dunno. The first ep was full of cliched chick-lit crap. Drunk/hungover in front of your very young kids, losing clients at the office, unprofessional conduct at court, all the swishing of hair, pouting and overacted “aren’t I hilarious” dialogue? That’s clearly just meant to be scatty/adorable. The Radio Times kind of acknowledged the above but suggested that it’s worth sticking with but I’m really not sure.

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 15/07/2018 21:41

Faith is a really annoying character, I would do a runner if I was her husband too. Please stop the jaunty music, excessive hair shaking and over the top acting, the story then has the potential to be quite good and makes a change from women being murdered by the local serial killer.

Hallamoo · 15/07/2018 22:06

I was really annoyed that they made part of the storyline that she was still carrying baby weight; the daughter's comment about the dress in the first scene, and her squeezing into her work trousers later on.

She...was....clearly...carrying...no...baby...weight...what...so...ever! What was that all about? They picked the wrong actress if that was meant to be part of the storyline, or they should've padded her out a bit.

Blondeshavemorefun · 15/07/2018 22:22

On planner. Looking forward to it. Think only Wales saw it last time

Gwenhwyfar · 15/07/2018 23:26

"She...was....clearly...carrying...no...baby...weight...what...so...ever! "

She has a great figure, but we don't know what she looked like before the baby do we?

Clawdy · 16/07/2018 08:32

True, but the scenes of her desperately squeezing her slim frame into clothes looked silly and pointless.

Akire · 16/07/2018 08:37

Yes wear a maternity dress that must of us couldn’t get two legs into ye she was so fat!

CherieBabySpliffUp · 16/07/2018 10:16

I thought the face at the window was the client who turned up drunk with flowers?

Teaformeplease · 16/07/2018 10:31

I loved Keeping Faith and the music too! Stick with it, 1st episode is a bit frothy in parts but it gets very dramatic in later episodes.

Gwenhwyfar · 16/07/2018 17:58

"the scenes of her desperately squeezing her slim frame into clothes looked silly and pointless."

I don't think they were pointless. I think they were there to show the kind of relationship she had with her husband and eldest daughter. Close, playful, etc.
Anyone can be too big for a dress, can't they, they don't have to be fat for that.

Hallamoo · 16/07/2018 20:22

Yes, but she wasn't too big for any of her clothes, they fitted her perfectly.

Hallamoo · 16/07/2018 20:24

I think Gwenhwyfar might be one of the writers! ;)

The80sweregreat · 17/07/2018 11:14

Might have been better to show her in a normal dress but surrounded by other clothes on the bed that didn’t fit or some other pointer to ‘baby weight’.

SinisterBumFacedCat · 17/07/2018 23:16

Enjoying it but find the music annoying and Faith a bit shouty and very fidgety 😬. Did like her flipping her in laws the bird though, very mumsnet!

Bugjune · 18/07/2018 15:40

I think I must be Eve Myles averse, her OTT bovine faces make me irrationally annoyed.

The rampant hair tossing in this is the final straw, Ms Myles is cancelled.
