Thought I'd start a new one as we're not far off and there'll be much to talk about this week, I I fear.

OP posts:
IHaveBrilloHair · 08/05/2018 13:36

I sobbed through the second ep, it was really well acted.

Clawdy · 08/05/2018 13:37

Aidan certainly guessed the baby was Eva's and probably his. That's why he picked her up deliberately to see Toyah 's uneasy reaction.

southeastdweller · 08/05/2018 13:40

which is codswallop if you ask me, but anyway

How’d you work that out? Did you know that thousands of people every year lose loved ones to suicide? I think it’s pretty obvious that a proportion of those will be Corrie viewers.

So yes, ^of course* they had to warn before. I can’t understand why that isn’t logical to some here.

ZibbidooZibbidooZibbidoo · 08/05/2018 13:40

Yes he definitely knew the baby was his. I think that’s why he said to Eva that whatever she decided was the right decision because he knew she had already made the decision. He was telling her he was ok with it.

keepondreaming · 08/05/2018 13:42

I'm with Frilly - I don't think we are supposed to know if he knows. We will never know if he died knowing the baby is his or not. Eva will never know if he knew. It's an unanswerable question (unless he's left a note), those around Aiden and invited with the baby will never know. Continuing torment for all.

keepondreaming · 08/05/2018 13:43

invited = involved

IHaveBrilloHair · 08/05/2018 13:44

I agree keepon

VanGoghsDog · 08/05/2018 13:49

Did you know that thousands of people every year lose loved ones to suicide?

Yes. I am allowed to have an opinion you know.

To me, fiction is separate to real life. I see things in fiction all the time that have affected me in real life and didn't need to be warned it was going to happen.

My comment about it being 'codswallap' was that they "had to" give a spoiler (which people on the previous thread kept asserting, and you have too) - there is no 'had to' at all. They may have preferred to, they may understand that some people can't separate fiction from reality. They may have done it for viewing figures (as if.....). But it is clear they did not 'have to'.

woodenstag · 08/05/2018 13:50

Last nights episode really moved me. I was sobbing from the moment Aidan asked Eva to dance. How dreadfully sad. I think he knew baby Suzie was his. Tomorrow night is going to be hard to watch. Brilliant acting by them all to be fair.

blueskypink · 08/05/2018 13:51

He clearly thinks that the baby might be his. Hence the puzzled thoughtful expression when he stopped to look at the baby in the pram and Toya rushed her away. And again in the pub when she stops him holding her.

But maybe he doesn't want his suspicions confirmed and that's why he doesn't ask.

Wishfulmakeupping · 08/05/2018 13:55

I thought last nights episode was really good very well acted esp Aiden, think Jenny and Johnny have been fab last couple weeks especially. The only criticism I’ve got about last night would be that they originally finished the episode with Aiden in the pub and later added the scene with him crying at Home. I think it would have been stronger finishing as they had planned it didn’t need that extra scene.
But really enjoyed it overall. The friendly waitress has a motive but not sure if spoilers allowed!

ZibbidooZibbidooZibbidoo · 08/05/2018 13:59

No spoilers. It’s in the title!

ZibbidooZibbidooZibbidoo · 08/05/2018 14:00

And no hints either!

PuppyMonkey · 08/05/2018 14:06

I think this whole discussion about Aiden is one massive spoiler actually as we haven't officially been shown what he's even done yet. That's why I was confused/unmoved as I seem to be the only person in Britain who hasn't read what's going on and wondered what he was crying about. Confused

I thought we were going to find out he had a serious illness or something.

ZibbidooZibbidooZibbidoo · 08/05/2018 14:13

I agree puppy it is a spoiler. I don’t think it was obvious at all what is going to happen. I expected him to get Eva’s voicemail and call her back and they would reunite.

ChocolateDoll · 08/05/2018 14:32

Agree!! So much for no spoilers on this thread.

For me, last night’s episodes were very sad, but there was no indication at all that suicide was on the Cards.

Scrabbler3 · 08/05/2018 14:34

I hadn't read any spoilers but I thought he'd died at the end of the second ep, because the screen went black temporarily.

AdamBarlowsQuiff · 08/05/2018 14:38

I think if they'd wanted to make it more blatant that Aiden knew, he would have found the photograph of Eva and the baby when he was at the cottage. I presume at some point someone will find that! I'm so glad you said about the letter to his dad, it was bugging me for a while what that could be. So it's actually been a really slow burner!

ZibbidooZibbidooZibbidoo · 08/05/2018 14:47

Good username adambarlowsquiff Grin he’s gone for a an all over number 2 now I think!

IHaveBrilloHair · 08/05/2018 15:00

wishful, there is a spoiler thread so you could post in there.
I'm interested to know about the waitress.

Akire · 08/05/2018 15:25

I’m watched it again. He does not know about the baby. Because he asks her how the baby is. So he just saying goodbye. She got wrong end of stick.

However was that the spoiler thing? Why was there warning at end and action line?? Confused? He already left her and now regrets not staying and having family but hardly warrants spoilers.

Viviennemary · 08/05/2018 15:32

They shouldn't have killed off Aidan. He was a nice character and quite believable. So many dumb story lines like the aquatic centre and the stupid hats. And all those deadbeats allowed to stay. And that awful new girlfriend of Davids is just so unfunny. Might stop watching soon. And Toyah is awful and the Simon thing so unbelievable.

Viviennemary · 08/05/2018 15:34

I didn't think it was a spoiler about Aidan because they didn't play the theme tune at the end of the episode. And that's when somebody has died.

millimat · 08/05/2018 15:44

Wow @Emma198 your poor husband.
I thought it was portrayed well. Fits in with the theme of the men on the This Morning studio's roof.

PuppyMonkey · 08/05/2018 16:02

But the last scene with him crying in a chair and then "no music" really did not convey to me "this person has now committed suicide." And I assure you, I'm a pretty experienced soap watcher. Grin

The "if you've been affected" warnings could have been about David. Or Craig. Or possibly Eva giving up the baby.

I had not even the slightest clue what was going on and thought in the next episode, he would reveal he had found out during the kidney op he had some sort of terrible illness.

It's a poor show if to understand a programme, you've got to have first heard it on Radio 4 or read on Twitter.
