Thought I'd start a new one as we're not far off and there'll be much to talk about this week, I I fear.

I started crying when Aiden asked Eva to dance. I thought it was very well done and handled sensitively.

flopsyrabbit1 · 07/05/2018 21:05

i think he know's the baby is his ZibbidooZibbidooZibbidoo

Akire · 07/05/2018 21:05

The baby is EVa though luckily she still looks pregnant so Auden is none the wiser. How come Eva’s not least bit interested in the big question over he wonder where the baby is? Why is he crying when he made it know he’s keen and left her ring? Or was this him saying goodbye?? Why not be clear arghhh

flopsyrabbit1 · 07/05/2018 21:09

when he came back to the pub he had the wine stained jacket on,i was waiting for Leanne to notice and guess it was the same stained jacket she asked about when skyping eva

CoolCarrie · 07/05/2018 21:11

I don’t think he does know that Eva has had the baby, I think he meant that he won’t let on where Eva is and that Toyah had been helping her.

Akire · 07/05/2018 21:13

Leanne is really annoying if my sister rang me for 33rd time I wouldn’t answer! As far who’s jacket is that wow no words. Why wouldn’t she be flat sharing or have friends she’s supposed to be on a course.

CrumbliestFlakiest · 07/05/2018 21:15

I think it's quite clever that they've left it ambiguous as to WHAT did he 'know'. I think Toyah and Eva will wonder if things might have gone differently if Eva had kept the baby.

PuppyMonkey · 07/05/2018 21:16

TBH having not really known what was going to happen re this storyline, I’m quite Confused and have only cottoned on thanks to reading some tweets. I don’t think they’ve told this story at all well. Do they expect viewers to have already read spoilers in order to follow it?

CrumbliestFlakiest · 07/05/2018 21:20

I'm not sure puppy. I think a lot of the point was that he's been quite outwardly chirpy and that it doesn't always make sense.

HollowTalk · 07/05/2018 21:20

I think Eva will have the baby back off Toyah now. Or she would in real life. I know she's leaving the series soon - any spoilers about the baby?

bimbobaggins · 07/05/2018 21:23

That was really so sad, I don’t know if I’ll be able to watch it on Wednesday

Hidingtonothing · 07/05/2018 21:24

CoolCarrie it was Cosmic Love by Florence and the Machine. I'm struggling with this storyline too, finding the baby part quite upsetting and the Aidan part is just making a sad thing sadder Sad

MartinRohdesBellybuttonFluff · 07/05/2018 21:25

CoolCarrie I think the music in the background was Florence & the Machine's Cosmic Love (trying to get d's to sleep so was watching the TV with practically no sound so sorry if I'm wrong!)

MartinRohdesBellybuttonFluff · 07/05/2018 21:25

Xpost Hidingtonothing

PuppyMonkey · 07/05/2018 21:26

Well no it does it make sense as it’s not been made at all clear what has even happened.

blueskypink · 07/05/2018 21:31

I didn't realise a new thread had been started so posted on the old one to say how incredibly moving the Aiden story is. After so much crap drama they really pulled it out of the bag with this one. I was in tears at the end.

They're doing it really well in the way he appears normal when talking to people. A distant relative killed himself one Sunday morning and the friends he'd spent the evening before with had absolutely no inkling that he was unhappy, never mind suicidal. To an onlooker Aiden's got so much going for him - young, healthy, handsome, own business etc. Heartbreaking.

CrumbliestFlakiest · 07/05/2018 21:42

Exactly bluesky. I think we're so used to seeing characters inner thoughts. So we've known about Craig and David and doing what we expect to do; willing someone to ask the right question or for them to find the courage to get help.

Aidan on the surface is 'fine'. He's got the business, even at the end there was a spark with Eva. But he's lost all hope and made up his mind. He's had clear intent by not doing it in spectacular fashion or hoping to be discovered and rescued.

It's very moving.

Frillyhorseyknickers · 07/05/2018 21:50

blueskypink

I completely agree I was so moved, the story is fantastic and both eva and aiden were great.

But really Corrie didn’t need another deep story like this, it’s becoming a bit too doom and gloom.

ChevalierTialys · 07/05/2018 21:50

I was really moved by that episode. That last scene had me in tears. Aiden is acting completely normally outwardly and inside is experiencing chaos and pain. I noticed Kate mentioned he hasn't unpacked in his flat, which was a good detail - he's too depressed to bring himself to do it because he sees no point.

HettySunshine · 07/05/2018 21:52

CoolCarrie, I watch with subtitle so it told me, it's Florence & the Machine and I think it was called Cosmos, or a similar length word starting with C, I only glanced st it!

OP posts:
keepondreaming · 07/05/2018 21:56

Agree with PPs, it moved me to tears tonight.
Aiden didn't want Eva to say "I Love You" back as it might have changed his plans. He didn't want to change those plans, he knew what he wanted to do, he was determined within. It was very well done, nobody had a clue he was saying Goodbye to them individually.

So sad.

HettySunshine · 07/05/2018 21:58

Seemingly, the letter he posted a while back was a suicide note to his dad and then when he found out Carla needed a kidney he intercepted it. So he has been feeling this way for a long time.

I agree it was an incredibly poignant episode. The next few are going to be very hard to watch.

OP posts:
Emma198 · 07/05/2018 21:58

I thought he definitely knew Toyah had his baby. He asked how the baby was, so knew Eva had had it. He did a brilliant job.

SumAndSubstance · 07/05/2018 22:12

I thought he knew about the baby too and that's what he was telling Toyah not to worry about. He also told Eva that he wasn't ready to be a dad so that she wouldn't wonder 'what if?'. I agree it was actually very well done and very sad.

eddiemairswife · 07/05/2018 22:18

It shows that they can do things well when they try. It was a very moving episode.
