Thought I'd start a new one as we're not far off and there'll be much to talk about this week, I I fear.

I'm sure the writers must plan their storylines for maximum impact during the voting period? There was something I voted for recently (post Aiden's death), and he was one of the options together with Jack Shepherd. Thought that was the Soap Awards, but maybe I just didn't concentrate!

After all that, anything other than turbo charged nutterdom will be a welcome relief or buzz kill, depending on your age??

Rosie and the drugs.....ludicrous. She hasn't had a decent storyline for years.

Nicola was shot in the shoulder and was dying. Now she's ok and just has her arm in a sling? Did I miss something?

Gunshot wounds to the chest which miss the lung have low mortality.

They are initially serious, because piercing what is essentially a sealed thoracic cavity means the diaphragm cannot work well, in turn meaning that besthung is mechanically compromised because the lungs cannot inflate/deflate normally. Once chest cavity is re-sealed, then the mechanics are usually fine and the risk is essentially that of any deep wound. Once cleaned and dressed, and with patient on a shed load of painkillers, then sitting up,and looking OK is reasonable.

Corrie is nigh-on dammit unwatchable for those who know what it was like in its first 5 decades, but to me at least, the progress of someone with a non-lung penetrating thoracic injury isn't one of the reasons.

The Rosie/Gemma drugs storyline was awful and pointless. I quite like Rosie and Gemma together as a bit of fun but it was a bad story.

Why did the baby not go in to visit Nicola? Surely she would have been frantic about her less than a week old baby?
