Thought I'd start a new one as we're not far off and there'll be much to talk about this week, I I fear.

OP posts:

Nicola was bouncing around a couple of hours after a c section. Bring shot will be likewise taken in her stride. Maybe it's the Phelan blood that conveys them super powers.

yawning801 · 02/06/2018 17:44

Michelle will be bouncing off the walls by Monday's episode, as will Nicola. These writers need their heads testing - it says something about what the programme has become when every episode (pre-watershed) is preceded by a trigger warning!

millimat · 02/06/2018 17:49

I dint need to add anything. Hygge says it all perfectly!

millimat · 02/06/2018 17:50

Bit more I've caught up in do need to all about Sallys kitchen? When did that happen?

Clionba · 02/06/2018 17:52

I know millimat I didn't know where they were at first! No skip, no kitchen fitters?

Hygge · 02/06/2018 19:14

yawning sometimes when the programme finishes and they say "if you have been affected by the storyline.." we're not exactly sure which bit they're talking about, they've crammed that many issues into one half hour.

yawning801 · 02/06/2018 19:21

Precisely Hygge! Then they have to say "...by ANY of the storylines..." because there's so many!

SumAndSubstance · 02/06/2018 19:42

Well, I've just caught up with all that. Obviously, yes, it was preposterous, but I did like the bit where Phelan was choosing a hostage - it was a bit like he had a list from us lot. "Is Fiz at this wedding? No? Erm, okay, ah, Michelle, she's on my list" I was shouting (not actually), "No, Pat, shoot Kate, shoot Kate!"

Inkanta · 02/06/2018 20:18

Yeah never heard that line " I need a hostage" before. Smile

maresedotes · 02/06/2018 20:33

hygge your post was so funny and so accurate!

maresedotes · 02/06/2018 20:34

Your ‘worst bits’ post I mean.

ShowerGel9 · 02/06/2018 20:57

There was only about 4 police wasn't there? !

Redglitter · 02/06/2018 21:37

4 cops and no CID despite a murder and a double shooting. Eileens house & the Bistro should have been sealed off as crime scenes. No sign of any forensics and Pats body removed straight away.

Not to mention suspects and witnesses wandering about Willy nilly

All totally realistic Hmm

millimat · 02/06/2018 22:20

I'm glad to see that Jack p shepard won the best actor award tonight.

catherinedevalois · 02/06/2018 23:30

The trouble with them winning best soap means there is no reason for them to change the formula!

crazycatgal · 02/06/2018 23:44

Does anyone think that Lucy Fallon (Bethany) deserved to win best actress? I'm not a fan tbh.

Clionba · 02/06/2018 23:50

No, crazycatgal she just had a high profile juicy storyline. I know that she's older than the character in real life, but she looked a lot older tonight!

blueskypink · 03/06/2018 00:10

Best soap!!!!!???? Thank goodness I don't watch any of the others then.

ajandjjmum · 03/06/2018 09:24

Well there's no point in me watching the soap awards now!

SavoyCabbage · 03/06/2018 11:27

I was really annoyed that Kevin was just strolling round the street whilst Jack was inside. Gunshots, armed police and you've an eight year old and you don't think to go in your house and look after him.

ShowerGel9 · 03/06/2018 13:10

It was really all a joke. Very daft

Inkanta · 03/06/2018 14:38

It was daft really. Coronation Street should stick to what it's good at. I'll forgive it this this time round.Wink

The David Platt story got going though - that was good.

theliverpoolone · 03/06/2018 15:08

Yes, the Soap Awards just recognise the high profile story lines, and, with the exception of David Platt last night, the newer characters. Lucy Fallon isn't a better actor than the women who play Leanne or Eileen, for example (and Eva, who was also nominated, certainly isn't). I was amazed Corrie won best soap, having given up on it due to its dire storylines this year!

thenightsky · 03/06/2018 15:11

Did Shane Ward not win anything for the Aiden suicide story?

theliverpoolone · 03/06/2018 15:13

I don't think he did, although I didn't see all of it.
