Thought I'd start a new one as we're not far off and there'll be much to talk about this week, I I fear.

OP posts:
Redglitter · 02/06/2018 08:09

Ok so Anna killed him in self defence but she still killed him. Not one single police officer wanted to question her they just let her wander merrily round the street.

Yeah thatd happen

catherinedevalois · 02/06/2018 08:16

How come Anna was walking around free after stabbing someone? Wouldn't she at least have been questioned first?

catherinedevalois · 02/06/2018 08:17

Exactly! Grin

HarrietKettleWasHere · 02/06/2018 08:33

Anna said to Eileen: 'its over'

It isn't you pair of idiots! Anna has got some serious questions to answer, Eileen is still Pat's spouse so she'll have to do some paperwork, two woman are lying in the hospital with gunshot wounds, and there's a newborn baby who'll probably be wanting a feed about two hours ago.

I'd say it's not time to sit on the sofa with a cuppa just yet.

kikashi · 02/06/2018 08:36

What a mess. I suppose the police won't be asking about Gary's whereabouts and why he was in Wales and if little Jack tells Kev about Phelan being in the builders yard what will happen then? Gary and Anna should be ashamed of themselves FFS - Nicola (the mother of his child) was shot and almost died as did Michelle due to their crazy plan. Lock them up and throw away the key.

I daresay Faye will be back (after the actress's exams are over) more's the pity. Anna's acting hasn't improved during her break.

thenightsky · 02/06/2018 10:21

I kept fretting about when the baby's feed was due too!

ajandjjmum · 02/06/2018 10:49

I thought it was quite clever that they got rid of one 'baddie', and then showed another one waiting to create havoc on the street.

I too kept thinking Pat would wake up.

kikashi · 02/06/2018 11:09

I thought Pat's eye would twitch when he had been left alone in the kitchen after the evacuation.

Optimist1 · 02/06/2018 11:29

I thought Nigel Havers cleared Audrey and Gail out of practically all their money last time round? Why not move on to fresh victims instead of coming back to the old ones?

SuperSuperSuper · 02/06/2018 11:48

I hope they don't drag it out via Jack telling Kev that Phelan was tied up in the yard by Gary, and Kev telling the police. I hope it's really over at last.

I love Nigel Havers but wonder why the character is back.

cloudyweewee · 02/06/2018 12:01

I don't care why Nigel Havers is back- I love him!

eddiemairswife · 02/06/2018 12:01

The police will have to investigate Phelan's stabbing.

HushabyeMountainGoat · 02/06/2018 12:03

Yes, how did the Nigel Havers storyline end last time? Is he back for revenge for something? He obviously has arranger for Rosemary to befriend Audrey and Gail so what reason would he have to get at them?

HushabyeMountainGoat · 02/06/2018 12:13

Ah right, i've googled it and it appears that Nigel Havers does truly love Audrey but hates Gail. I am not sure why he thinks she would have any money though. I suppose if he makes her feel desperate enough then she might take out another loan

Bluelonerose · 02/06/2018 12:23

Dh kept saying Phelan isn't dead.
Thought it was such a let down and still bewildered why they brought him back.

Didn't Lewis rip off the bistro too?

kikashi · 02/06/2018 12:27

None of it really made sense (to me) last time. Havers (Archer) wanted to break Gail as she had split him and Audrey up. When he romanced Gail she took out a £40k loan on the house and gave the money to him. Somehow this was enough to make her "lose" her house - so Audrey helped David and Kylie get a mortgage to buy it - Gail became their lodger in the smallest room.

It didn't make sense because Gail had always appeared to own the house outright and had a job and her family (with jobs and presumably paying rent/keep) living there, so the repayments on a £40k loan shouldn't have forced a sale and the house must have been worth quite a lot more than that? Perhaps Havers is back to squeeze out some more money as he is broke again?

ajandjjmum · 02/06/2018 12:42

Anna was talking to a police person in the Street, and did say that the Police would want to talk to her again.

Hopefully the Police will just agree it was self-defence against a known murderer, who had already shot two people in the episode.

Just worried about Jack knowing - inevitably it will become a long drawn out issue.

ZibbidooZibbidooZibbidoo · 02/06/2018 12:44

I’m bored of Nigel Havers already. Couldn’t stand him last time. Groaned at the screen as soon as I saw is awful scarf last night. Urgh. Try something original Corrie! Stop recycling shit storylines you’ve already used.

Hygge · 02/06/2018 13:17

Some of the worst bits in no particular order.

The Street has a Bistro at one end and a medical centre at the other. So naturally you take the woman who is bleeding to death to the restaurant for help.

The armed police taking Roy Cropper's word for it that the gunman was dead and putting his gun down. It's okay, he's dead. Cheers mate, I'm off home then, don't need me anymore.

Hostages, witnesses, and possible murderess allowed to stroll around the street and wander into various houses, people ducking under the police tape as they felt like it.

Teenage Faye allowed to stand by the police tape holding the newborn baby she could have killed while an armed siege takes place just feet from where she stands. Plus every other nosey bystander not invited to the wedding milling in the background.

Gunshot from the kitchen, no screams or cries of "Michelle!" from the restaurant, just total silence from all those people who are supposed to actually care about her.

You're trying to escape the police, you need a hostage, you don't want to be noticed. Your hostage options are limited but the woman in the wedding dress is probably the most conspicuous person in the room. Pick her.

And possibly the most unbelievable bit of all. The whole street is aware that Steve kissed Michelle on her wedding day and caused Robert to drive away. Why was Tracy not kicking off and threatening to kill the pair of them? It's impossible that she doesn't know or won't find out, and it's completely against character for her to not be on the warpath.

Hygge · 02/06/2018 13:22

Oh, and of course they brought Pat's body out into the street before they zipped up the bag.

Because they always do that.

Except for when they brought Aiden's body out of the bathroom and his Dad had to say goodbye though an already zipped one.

But yes, bring the dead serial killer out with his face on show.

ZibbidooZibbidooZibbidoo · 02/06/2018 13:26

Yep all that hygge

I did chuckle at the police tape being what 20 meters away from an ongoing shooting situation. And everyone just gathering to watch. Like hell.

Clionba · 02/06/2018 13:34

All of that, Hygge. It takes a special skill to have a potentially gripping scene written and directed so badly. Ridiculous from start to finish.

ShowerGel9 · 02/06/2018 14:12

All it missed to make it even more worse was sophie stood there pulling a confused

"What's happened mum?' Face

KellyBailey · 02/06/2018 15:18

Did anyone else find it weird how Eileen and Anna were able to have their heart to heart in Eileens front room, surely with it being the scene of a very recent shooting the police should have been all over it and not letting randoms just wander in and out?

Clionba · 02/06/2018 16:15

That's right KellyBailey a crime scene, also spattered with blood? Plus wouldn't Seb and Eileen both have to be checked out by the paramedics?
