Programmes that never get repeated

Every Easter I hope (in vain) that The Passion will be repeated on tv. It was in the late 1990's with Gina McKee and Paul Nichols and set in Devon, never even been released on dvdConfused. Does anyone else remember it? What other programmes have only been on once and you'd like to see again?

North Square - legal drama

Angels
No Angels (all that cast went on to do good stuff)
Early Casualties (which was incident rather than character led and you had to work out what the injury/death/accident was going to be)

I too am rewatching ER thanks to Mumsnet.

I love a medical show ...

Loved As If!

I used to love Midnight Caller, I did buy My so called life DVD second hand from Amazon but anything earlier from the 80s and before doesn’t seem to be on DVD as too old.

mercurymaze · 30/03/2018 20:27

mercurymaze · 30/03/2018 20:27

Roger and Val have just got in. Dawn French was wonderful in it. It was so well observed and very poignant indeed. I loved it, I didn't think it got nearly enough credit or a decent slot. It reminded me of Marion and Geoff which I found very moving and poignant too.

Vitalogy · 30/03/2018 20:33

I'd check out YouTube in case the programs you want are on there. Looks like Blake 7 and Midnight Caller are anyway.

southeastdweller · 30/03/2018 20:34

ButtMuncher You can buy The Jury for a fiver on iTunes.

Bananalanacake · 30/03/2018 20:46

The 2 ladies in the Philadelphia ads did a sitcom called So What Now. Wonder if anyone remembers it.

MadisonAvenue · 30/03/2018 20:50

poppy1973 · 30/03/2018 20:51

Jojoanna - I often see the actor who played the lead in Blakes 7. My dh was a fan of the show first time around. Wish they would put it back on.

Knitjob · 30/03/2018 20:54

I remember a series made by I think Winstons Wish and it followed 4 families with a parent who was dying. I remember it being such an emotional series with some amazing families. It came into my mind recently after a friend's cancer diagnosis.
The first one is on YouTube but not the rest. I would like to watch them again.
Not a very cheery contribution from me, sorry.

twilightcafe · 30/03/2018 21:13

70isalimit I bought Between the Lines on DVD from Amazon a few years ago.
Definitely dated, but Neil Pearson is still hot.

JennyJames · 30/03/2018 21:22

Cardiac Arrest 90s hospital drama by the bloke who wrote Bodies and Line of Duty while he was still a doctor. Gritty as hell, suspect only medics could bear watching it!

I have a spare (duplicate present) DVD box set of Cardiac Arrest.

If you PM me your details, I'd be happy to send it to you.

charliedufus · 30/03/2018 21:25

I loved the last train and havent watched it for years I would love to watch it again
A film called Dancing through the dark I had this on vhs years ago and when I was down I would watch it I loved it

ParadiseLaundry · 30/03/2018 21:32

I'm amazed Ally McBeal hasn't popped up on Netflix or the like with the current 90s revival.

I'd love to see some of the old Friday night C4 sitcoms from the 90's again. Cybil, Caroline in the City, Ellen. I bloody loved those! Can anyone else remember what else they used to show then? Apart from Friends and Frasier, of course but I'm sure we wouldn't have any problem finding those the rewatch Grin

JuniLoolaPalooza · 30/03/2018 21:35

I have all the boxsets of No Angels.

There was a programme in the 80s called 'Two by Two' about a zoo vet which I loved as a kid. Would love to see that again although I expect it's aged badly.

dingdongdigeridoo · 30/03/2018 21:49

Wow North Square. Had forgotten about that one. And it’s on All4! Might have a binge watch this weekend.

Ally McBeal was on American Netflix a while back. It was quite weird watching it, knowing how ill many of the actresses were during filming.

AnneWiddecombesHandbag · 30/03/2018 21:56

I remember the riff raff element and I have Adrian mole on dvd!

I used to LOVE surgical spirit!

southeastdweller · 30/03/2018 22:01

diddl · 30/03/2018 22:03

I used to like Watching as well.

Surgical Spirit?

diddl · 30/03/2018 22:04

Oops, I didn't see your post Anne

Em308 · 30/03/2018 22:21

Haven't RTFT so apologies if anyone has mentioned this one - must have been mid 80's there was a spooky drama called 'Maelstrom', I'd love to watch this again. Probably no where near as good as I remember though!

NewBallsPlease00 · 30/03/2018 22:22
