Wow. Well now. Donna I had pegged for Sally's murder not Lizzie's. Thomas Sad
Excellent series, 9/10 (point deducted for Lars obviously being a wrong 'un from the start).

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 20/03/2018 22:31

I was annoyed that they didn’t tidy up the oil rig accident story - I wanted the man to be exonerated, and his widow get a big payout.

I am glad they didn’t make Duncan the killer - that would have been too far from Ann Cleves’ vision of Shetland, and would have spoiled it for me.

FreezerBird · 20/03/2018 22:32

Tosh is wonderful; I got all teary at what she said to Thomas, and glad the last words he heard were kindness from her.

Points deducted for the pathetic chest compressions from the paramedic. You've got to go harder than that....

Clawdy · 20/03/2018 22:40

So the entire Norwegian story was a red herring? That was a lot of wasted storylines! Enjoyed it all though.

CoolCarrie · 20/03/2018 22:41

FreezerBird, that’s exactly what my dh said!
Poor Thomas, the actor was brilliant.

LoisWilkersonsLastNerve · 20/03/2018 22:53

Ah that was good. Poor Thomas though Sad

Calledyoulastnightfromglasgow · 21/03/2018 00:15

Loved it but not Thomas dying. Too bleak by half! He could at least have taken over the dolphin sanctuary.

Anyone help me - what can I watch now that’s similar? I’m bereft!

Kinraddie · 21/03/2018 00:28

That was a great series; Thomas Malone actor was really outstanding. Still a bit confused re Donna and Drew McColl; he says he always loved her and covered up the evidence after Lizzie was killed. So was Donna having an affair with him as well as Duncan, and also married at the time too?

futuristic1 · 21/03/2018 07:47

Great series. I wished Thomas Malone hadn't died though.

Cassie Perez and Donna Killick look like doubles - anyone knowif they're related in real life?

Actresses are Erin Armstrong (Cassie) and Fiona Bell (Donna - Alan's mum/Lizzie's killer)

ChoccyJules · 21/03/2018 09:52

I assumed Donna and Drew got together more recently.
Also wondered what had happened to the oil rig story. I guess that led them to the bloke in Norway who was the fascists's Dad. The wife said she wanted nothing to do with it all.

ChoccyJules · 21/03/2018 09:53

Wait, no, you're right, Drew covered stuff up about the first murder. Donna was a busy lady!

thelionthewitchandthebookcase · 21/03/2018 10:26

Outstanding acting all round in the final episode. Obviously Thomas - wow. But also Perez and Duncan. You could read everything by their facial expressions. All so real and believable. And Sad

Can't wait for another series Smile

LoisWilkersonsLastNerve · 21/03/2018 10:30

We need to wait a whole year for another series. Great acting and very subtle which is why we missed the tension between Sally and her dad in early episodes. I like scripts that don't hit you over the head or write you a map to the killer. I loved the detour to Norway.

TheNaze73 · 21/03/2018 10:30

A massive 10/10 from me. Truly compelling, great writing & superb acting all round

LoisWilkersonsLastNerve · 21/03/2018 10:32

If you are all looking for something new to watch, The Bridge is very good.

ThisIsAWifeMineNow · 21/03/2018 11:57

Do you think Duncan knew it was Donna though, at the time? Did he know that Lizzie knew about him and Donna?

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 21/03/2018 12:34

@futuristic1 - Erin Armstrong used to go to school with one of my dses - I will ask him if he knows whether she's related to Fiona Bell.

Clawdy · 21/03/2018 12:35

Looking forward to the next series. They are such a good team of actors, love Mark Bonnar. The only one who seems as bit superfluous is Julie Graham, they don't give her much to do!

Calledyoulastnightfromglasgow · 21/03/2018 12:49

Will the Bridge have a Perez type? I have the hots for him

FreezerBird · 21/03/2018 13:09

I've just suggested Hinterland on your other thread. If you're after a Perez equivalent would definitely recommend Hinterland!

Calledyoulastnightfromglasgow · 21/03/2018 14:16

Oooh thank you kindly!!

FloraFox · 21/03/2018 14:25

There are seemingly more female murderers in Shetland than in the rest of the country put together. It's been a woman in every season.

Calledyoulastnightfromglasgow · 21/03/2018 14:32

So true and was why I suspected Donna. The author clearly has low expectations of women!

Is it not very rare for women to strangle?

ThisIsAWifeMineNow · 21/03/2018 14:45

Yes I think so Called - didn't Jimmy say that to Duncan or Drew last night? It's very rare for women to use strangulation.

Inkanta · 21/03/2018 16:16

Oh wow - that was a good drama - and great acting!
