This looks good - A new 4 part murder mystery thriller with an interesting cast, Nicola Walker, Carrey Mulligan, Billie Piper and Jon Simm. Is anybody planning to watch?

Me! So Jon Simms is on both Bbc2 and Itv at the same time?

buddhasbelly · 12/02/2018 21:03

Looking forward to this!

cheesydoesit · 12/02/2018 21:09

Awesome girl from Gigglebiz is in it too. Grin

buddhasbelly · 12/02/2018 21:16

@cheesydoesit we have the same viewing schedules tonight by the way Grin saw you on the bitcoin thing

cheesydoesit · 12/02/2018 21:20

I noticed that too! I almost stuck to BBC1 for Mary Beard but I will watch her on iPlayer. This is shaping up well so far, hope it's not a let down like some programmes previously.

buddhasbelly · 12/02/2018 21:25

Oh I'm in Scotland our viewing schedule is different so no mary beard. Sorry for derail OP!

Yes this is good - why was the pizza left lying in the corner uneaten?

JeremiahBackflip · 12/02/2018 21:29

Is the girl.from gigglebiz the one who was in the k hole?

I'm enjoying this so far.

LouiseBrooks · 12/02/2018 21:53

David Hare is a terrific writer. I'm really enjoying this so far. Amazing cast too.

cheesydoesit · 12/02/2018 22:02

I think Billie Piper's request for 'special topping' was an allusion to her being a drug user, poor Lucy didn't get any dinner!

Ihatebuildabear · 12/02/2018 22:04

This was great

Charley50 · 12/02/2018 22:11

That was good. Billy Piper's baby was very unattractive. Did her ex, the MP, not know about the baby?
Thought she was too middle class to smoke in a flat with kids around, even if she is a druggy. She's a very middle class kind of druggy, so the smoking grated a bit.
Great to have a new drama to get into though!

viques · 12/02/2018 22:18

a lot of walking up and down stairs! was that really Carey Mulligan, I thought it was , but was so put off by her flat delivery, great lines, but honestly, Carey , no one speaks like that! Terrific cast , lots of red herrings, looking forward to the rest of it.

eddiemairswife · 12/02/2018 22:22

It's refreshing to have a drama written by a 'proper' playwright; someone who rarely writes for TV. I wish we could have more from the likes of Stephen Poliakoff, Alan Bennett, Mike Leigh.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 12/02/2018 22:35

I enjoyed that. I assume Carey Mulligan was pregnant and they decided just to go with that and not make it a plot point.

Charley50 · 12/02/2018 22:36

Ooh and sorry didn't mean to be classist. I meant middle class as in 'we're all middle class now.'

NurseButtercup · 12/02/2018 23:53

Ooooh I missed it - I'll watch it on BBC iPlayer at the weekend Blush

Oooh I hadn’t heard about this thanks. Love Nicola Walker.

cheesydoesit · 13/02/2018 00:32

I hadn't even noticed she was pregnant! A quick Wiki check says that she had her second child August 2017 so she would have been. I had my own twisty baby to deal with though so I might watch it again at a quieter time.

HelenaDove · 13/02/2018 01:01

This was fab. Love the actors in this and its great to see Hayley Squires doing so well.

BitOfFun · 13/02/2018 01:08

Really enjoyed it, very well written. Couldn't get along with John Simm on ITV in Trauma though- what an unpleasant character!

WhirlwindHugs · 13/02/2018 09:46

I liked it!

I am assuming there will be more about Billie/the drugs/John Simm/Mikey. I love her as messed up people though, MP ex was more unbelievably scripted. Would you really leave your seven year old alone with such an obvious addict? He didn't even seem to know if his ex was home when he left her and went to meet a friend!

southeastdweller · 13/02/2018 11:01

I thought it was OK apart from the expositional dialogue and John Simm is miscast. I was expecting more complexity from David Hare - maybe he's not suited to TV.

sothatdidntwork · 13/02/2018 13:55

Why did Billie Piper throw the pizza on the floor? And then laugh about it maniacally when the policeman asked her about it?
(and won't it attract mice?)

Charley50 · 13/02/2018 13:57

I know. Surely she would have just said she threw as she was shocked about the shooting.
